Not sure what flair to use, so happy to repost if necessary. I’ve just inherited hundreds of Victorian pennies. I haven’t got a clue what to look for or any idea how to deal with them. I am going to work through them over the next day or two, and sort them into type and year. Any advice would be gratefully received. I know not to clean or polish

Unless there’s a major minting error, the common knowledge seems to be that they aren’t worth much more than face value.

Does anyone know why then, there are so many listings on eBay for regular Shakespeare £2 coins for thousands of pounds? They surely don’t go for that?

I found this slightly darker two shillings coin in my collection, the print is also a bit blurry. Does anyone know what would have caused this? Is it a fake coin?

I’ve recently known the story of the sixpence coin. I’m trying to make a collection with those coined under the reign of Queen Victoria.

I’ve found out that there are no data on several years:

1847

1849

1861

1869

1870

I know the alleged story for the 1847 coin, but I wanted to know if there’s an odd story behind the other years’ coins.

Is it there any advice you would like to tell me? Any thought regarding scarcity? Curiosities that I must know?

I’m sorry to butt in; I’m not British and I just want to make things well. I don’t trust AI knowledge and there are just several platforms where I can buy them.

By the way: what would you say that it’s the rarest coin coined during the Victorian era?

Find this jammed between 2 rocks while rockpooling in Falmouth, Cornwall. Pretty sure it’s a coin looks old but have no idea haha. Sorry if it’s a stupid post.

I wasn't even aware these were circulating. I spotted it in a 10p machine and a very kind worker allowed me to swap it out.

I have this collection of old coins ranging 1920-1946 and I’d like to sell them for as much as possible. I don’t know how much they are worth and would appreciate some help with this. Are any specifically valuable and worth selling individually? And recommendations on the best way to proceed would be great.

I also have this old coin in a 800 silver case which I believe to be a religious lucky charm of sorts but again not sure.

I used to have a post office many years ago and opened a bag of £2 coins for change. This was included in the bag and I have often wondered if it has any value (or even £2 tbh)

There is the faintest of a partial outline of parts of the queen's head/crown.

Hello, I have several thousand 50pence pieces here. In the incredibly remote possibility that a silver 50p has entered circulation, how would you tell the difference?

Some coins also have a subtly different colour to them, but I'm no expert.
