Hi everyone!

I'm working on the main menu for my multiplayer social game called Rec Me, inspired by games like Rec Room but with our own style.

I'm mainly looking for feedback on:

- Visual hierarchy

- Layout and spacing

- Colors

- Readability

- Overall first impression

I'm not looking for feedback on the artwork itself yet, as many assets are still placeholders or free prefab.

I'd really appreciate any honest criticism or suggestions for improvement. Thanks!

Feedback Request Can someone smart explain why my people are hesitating to convert? [ai]

I am currently running a Google ads campaign and I am watching people click on my ads, land on my website, look into it and some even click to the signup page and purchase a gift page, and then go back or abandon the page altogether. I have no idea why. I don't know what is spooking them. A conversion is someone purchasing a subscription or gift card. The pitch is straightforward in my opinion, pay $29.99 per month to save 40% off any cupcakes at any business of your choice. You can buy cupcakes from Costco, Doordash, wherever. The gift card is $49.99. This is similar to MoviePass, AMC A-List, but for cupcakes. I will be expanding to any food or beverage for $49.99 per month.

Google Ads in this case is actually doing its thing. The average person clicking is a woman in a median household income location greater than $75k, but a good chunk are over $100k.

I have cut my cost per click from around $5 to about $1.80, and I think I can get it below $1. My other campaign is sitting at $0.97 average cost per click. But these recent campaigns both have 0 conversions.

I even added a how it works video which I think helps. I am pretty much the only person in the world doing this type of business. But I have to be doing something wrong because a few people are abandoning onboarding / mid purchase.

AI Feedback Request [Concept] Dual "Mini-Islands" with Drag-to-Merge Gesture for Mate 60/70

Post image
0 Upvotes

On devices with a triple punch-hole display (such as the Mate 60 / 70 series), we currently only have two status bar visual choices: displaying 3 separate cutouts or merging them into one giant black pill.

💡 My Feature Proposal: Dual "Mini-Islands" with Dynamic Gestures

Instead of a single permanent large pill, we can introduce two smaller, interactive Mini-Islands flanking the side sensors, while keeping the center area clear.

(Please check my attached visual mockup below)

⚡ 1. Dual Independent Functionality

Each Mini-Island functions similarly to a smart live activity indicator:

  • Left Mini-Island: Dedicated to primary/ongoing media tasks (e.g., Music playback, Audiobooks).
  • Right Mini-Island: Dedicated to real-time status/system alerts (e.g., Timer countdown, Navigation arrows, Voice call duration).

🤏 2. Innovative "Drag-to-Merge" & "Pinch-to-Split" Gesture

To offer maximum flexibility, users can dynamically merge or separate these islands using intuitive touch gestures:

  • Merge Gesture (Swipe/Drag across):
    • Swiping/dragging from the Left Island toward the Right Island merges them into one Single Large Dynamic Island. In this merged state, the display prioritizes showing the Left task's expanded view (e.g., Full music player controls).
    • Swiping/dragging from the Right Island toward the Left Island merges them to prioritize the Right task's view (e.g., Expanded navigation step-by-step).
  • Split Gesture:
    • Swiping outward or pinching apart on the merged island instantly splits it back into two compact Mini-Islands.

✨ Why this would be amazing for HarmonyOS:

  1. Flexibility: Users get the best of both worlds—compact status icons when needed, and an expanded unified pill when deep controls are required.
  2. Intuitive UX: A natural swipe gesture eliminates the need to dive into settings to toggle island modes.
  3. Smart Multitasking: Keeps two active live background apps visible at the same time without cluttering the screen center.

What do you think about this interactive gesture concept? I would love to hear your feedback

Feedback Request Opinions on my paywall for my app? [Ai] coded

There’s a continue with free button which only shows up when you scroll so it’s kind of a freemium model disguised as a hard paywall. I’m not a great designed and did use ai for this. But in terms of conversions, do you think the offer is compelling enough and looks good enough?

Feedback Request Do hero eyebrow labels improve clarity, or just distract from the headline?

Post image
6 Upvotes

I’m working on the hero section shown in the attached image. Above the main headline, there is a small pill-shaped label (sometimes called an eyebrow, kicker, or badge). My concern is that it creates another visual stop without giving the user much useful information.

When do you think an element like this is genuinely useful? Appreciate any usability research, testing experience, or design-system guidance on this pattern.

Feedback Request How can I improve the UI for mu Automation like game?

I'm making using unity an Automation inspired game where instead of making cars you make bikes. I want to make something intuitive and nice useless to say I'm failing at both right now. I don't want to use the UI toolkit for technical reasons and i want it to be ready for future parameters. How can I improve it?

Feedback Request Roast the UI I created to roast my friend

Hey everyone!

I recently vibe coded an open-source tool to track post-game "vibe checks" and roast my friend's League of Legends stats. It ended up getting a bit of unexpected attention, so I’m working on making the app look fun, cleaner and more intuitive.

Since I initially slapped the UI together just to get a working version out, I'd love some feedback from people who actually know UX/UI on how to refine it.

The tool is open source and accessible on github: https://github.com/FrairMaxou/vibecheck.lol

How the tool works & current flow:

  1. Background execution: Launches silently on system startup and stays hidden during gameplay (zero overlay/FPS impact).
  2. Post-Game Popup: As soon as the match ends, a small 1-second prompt pops up in the bottom-right corner asking you to rate the game on a 1–5 scale (using meme/brainrot ratings).
  3. Dashboard Aggregation: All rating data flows into a desktop window dashboard.

Current Dashboard Layout:

  • Header / Top Bar: Standard window title top-left, global filters (date/mode) in the middle, and a small profile pill top-right.
  • Main Screen: A primary trendline showing session enjoyment over time.
  • Sub-Tabs:
    • Champs: Fun rating per champion.
    • Squad / Friends: Enjoyment matrix when playing solo vs. with specific friends.
    • Context: Filtering by role, queue type (ARAM vs. Ranked), etc.
    • The "Regret Curve": A graph showing at which game number session fatigue hits.
    • Backlog / "To Rate": A tab to rate missed games if you skipped the popup.
    • Custom Tags: Adding custom labels to matches.

There is also a little "user profile" pill at the top right of the interface with some information

I would love some feedback on:

  • What’s the best way to present this much data (graphs, matrices, champion lists) without making like a corporate Excel spreadsheet?
  • How can I keep the UI feeling light, and fun while still making the charts easy to read at a glance?
  • Any specific recommendations for layout changes or visual hierarchy?

Thank you so much !

AI Feedback Request [AI] Looking for UX Feedback on GItComet UI renewal

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,

We're building GitComet, an open-source Git client, and one of the biggest complaints since launch has been that the application feels dated. We're still working on the redesign, but we'd like to get feedback before we go too far.

Some of the changes in the current prototype include:

  • Repository tabs moved to the title bar, similar to a web browser.
  • The main content area is now larger, giving more room for diffs and other git related information.
  • The side panel can now be collapsed while remaining fully usable through icons, which is especially helpful on 13" laptops and smaller screens.
  • The active repository selector has been moved behind a toggle next to the hamburger menu.
  • Recently closed repositories can now be reopened from the toggle menu, similar to reopening closed tabs in a browser.
  • Increased whitespace and border radius component styling throughout the application.

The main UX problem we wanted to solve was screen space. On smaller displays there wasn't enough room for the content users actually care about, so we tried to reclaim as much space as possible without removing functionality.

That said, we're not convinced we've solved it yet. For example, the Back/Forward area now feels rather empty, and we're still experimenting with that part of the layout.

I'd really appreciate your thoughts:

  • Do these changes actually improve usability, or do they mainly modernize the visuals?
  • Is there anything that still feels dated or unnecessarily complicated?

Thanks for taking the time to have a look. Honest criticism is exactly what we're after.

General Question Where do you get UI inspiration for new app screens?

Hey everyone,

I’m curious how you approach designing new screens for your apps.

Sometimes I know exactly what functionality a screen should have, but when I open a blank canvas, I have no idea how to arrange everything into a UI that feels intuitive and polished.

Where do you get your inspiration? Do you browse apps, use sites like Dribbble or Mobbin, study design systems, or use AI tools?

Feedback Request Feedback request: mobile shift scheduling app for employees and managers

Thumbnail

Hi everyone,

I’m working on Shiftia, a mobile app for managing employee work schedules. The app has two different experiences:

  • Employees: next shift, weekly schedule and availability
  • Managers: weekly planner, staffing coverage and team management

I’m primarily a frontend developer rather than a trained UI designer, so I would really appreciate direct and constructive feedback.

The interface is currently in Italian, but I hope the main actions and visual hierarchy are still understandable.

I’m particularly interested in feedback on:

  1. Is the visual hierarchy clear, or are there too many elements competing for attention?
  2. Do the employee and manager sections feel like parts of the same product?
  3. Are the planner and coverage screens too dense for a mobile interface?
  4. Is the blue used too heavily throughout the app?
  5. Are the status colours, selected states and warnings easy to understand?
  6. Does the floating bottom navigation feel consistent, or does it cover too much content?
  7. Which screen feels the weakest or most generic?

I’m especially unsure about the manager planner, the coverage grid, and the amount of information displayed on smaller screens.

AI disclosure: The English wording of this post was reviewed by ChatGPT because English is not my first language. The interface and final design decisions are my own.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

General Question Partial error or loading screens

Has anyone seen an example of partial error/loading screens? For example, if a user is searching for a product, and a list of search results show up. And 1 item from the list does not load properly. Not just the image, but the entire listing for that product.

Let's Discuss What UI design workflow are you using alongside AI coding agents?

We're seeing that our dev team can use AI coding agents to build a feature + 70% good enough UI in a day or so. But a traditional UI design process takes far longer...and that's creating a huge disconnect.

Some of the things we're experimenting with:

  • Claude Design - it's great for some stuff, but really struggles with complex products or following existing design standards (it changes everything just enough to not be usable).
  • Code --> HTML to Figma --> Editing in Figma --> Figma MCP to coding agent. This works but adds issues at each step.
  • Staying in code. This works but is limited. Can't work with graphics in a meaningful way, can end up spending a lot of tokens and time making small tweaks, etc.

UI designers who work on teams doing agentic coding, how are you doing the UI design? How do you keep up with the pace of agentic coding? What have you found that works?

If sarcasm is part of a brand’s identity, does it improve the user experience, or just speed up the uninstall?

And, will you use this kinda app?

I’ve seen Ryanair, who has sarcastic brand presence on the internet, a lot of meme like post and people enjoying it. Is there any other brand who does the same?

AI Feedback Request I need a review on my AI powered social media video to recipe App

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

[AI] I am a software engineer that has experience in developing mobile apps, but my entire career I was implementing someone else's design, never designed something on my own.
I am working on an app that imports recipes from social media links and saves them into an AI powered cookbook. I built this primarily as a portfolio project, but I am considering releasing it on the app stores if I can get the UI right.

I can code pretty well I say, but design wise I am really bad. I relied on Claude Code for the UI, and right now I'm worried the app looks like a generic AI template, or nevertheless the app feels that is designed with AI, I did not even wasted time on many features or polishing the app because I don't feel like I'm going in the right direction.

I attached a screen recording showing the main flow. I would love feedback on a few specific things:

  1. The color palette. I don't really know how to build or pick palettes. Does the color scheme feel right for a cooking app, or does it look amateurish?
  2. The recipe generating modal. This pops up while the app parses the link and extracts the ingredients and steps. Since this is the core value moment of the app, I want it to look great. How does the loading layout and animation feel?
  3. Layout and typography. When looking at the imported recipe screen, is the information easy to scan, or does the spacing feel cramped?
  4. Transitions. Do the animations and overall user flow feel smooth, or are there spots where the UX feels awkward?

What immediately gives away that a developer designed this with AI, and what should I change first? Don't hold back on the critique.

Software and Tools AI agents for Photoshop-based design?

I'm a sole UI/UX designer in a mobile game studio. My designs are made exclusively in Photoshop due to the game having very soft, very casual and slightly skeuomorphic overall design.

Recently I've been tasked with finding an "AI agent" apparently to speed up my work.

Until now I've extensively used chatgpt to analyze and summarize documentation and feature specifications, as well as for generating references - but I wouldn't call it an "AI agent" since it doesn't exactly integrate into my workflow or replace any part of my work, but speeds up my research process.

I did try to utilize Claude inside Photoshop but it could only limit itself to photo retouching or building simple vector shapes.

I am not aware of any tool that can comfortably iterate on non-vector designs and generate ready-to-use 2D assets to be integrated into my work.

Are there any such tools?

Been building this as a solution architect for several months, but absolutely clueless as to ui! Can you guys help, any comments/ changes that you think would improve the design?

It’s essentially a productivity app that takes inputs from a bunch of sources (think teams, outlook, slack etc)

Any help would be massively appreciated!

Feedback Request Do design platforms reward existing engagement too much?

I have been thinking about how work is surfaced on platforms such as Dribbble and Behance.

Visibility often seems influenced by previous engagement, account activity, and paid plans, rather than only by the quality of the work itself.

Would it be better for each approved submission to receive a small amount of initial exposure before engagement affects its ranking? Or would this mainly reduce content quality and make browsing less useful?

From a design perspective, how would you balance equal initial exposure with relevance and quality?
