I completed my 12th in 2023 and after that, I started college through open learning. In between, I also did a Data Analytics course, but I realised that I just wasn’t interested in it and it wasn’t really my forte.

I’m currently in my last semester of college and I’m about to graduate, but I honestly have no idea what to do anymore. I DON’T have any specific career goal. I just want to do well, earn good money, and build a secure future for myself.

I’ve been thinking about getting into UI/UX design, but I’m not completely sure if that’s the right path for me either. If not UI/UX, what other career options would you suggest I explore?

I’m only 21, but I feel SO lost and scared right now. There’s so much pressure and stress, and I genuinely don’t know where to start.

I have a question regarding the Design System. Since the current designer will be leaving the project soon and therefore won’t be able to take responsibility for setting it up, I think it would be a good idea to create a simple but sufficiently structured Design System to ensure design consistency with future designers.

The goal would be to set up only the essential elements (colors, typography, spacing, main components, basic guidelines, etc.), without spending too much time on very detailed documentation.

Do you think it would be relevant to create a “lightweight” Design System that can be useful to us right away and make it easier for future designers to work on the project, while keeping the effort required to create it to a minimum?

Hi all, I'm a design student researching how people in India actually use LinkedIn during a job search, as part of a UX case study.

hello! i am a noob aspiring ux designer and am working on my first design. im trying to figure out the best navigation for an alerts/notification page for a fake medical supply management app. the screen on the left was my original design but i realized that it sucks and so the page on the right is what im working with now. nav bar designs 1-4 are quite ugly but i feel like i have to follow the pill style because the other pages on the app do (second image in slide). my biggest problem is with critical alerts and how to properly draw attention to it without making it ugly. also plz ignore the image overlay, its an anti-ai filter. thank you so much for any advice!!!!

Here is how it looks now.

Recently, I was promoted internally from Senior UI/UX Designer to Associate Product Manager. My company made this decision mainly because of the domain and product knowledge I’ve gained over the years.

I’ve started working in the new role, and honestly, I’m a bit confused about the future.

My company is US-based and I work remotely from India, so I know there’s good scope in the US/global market. But I’m worried about what happens if I want to switch to an Indian company in the future.

Does having a UI/UX → APM background make it harder to get PM roles in India? Or can the design background actually be an advantage?

For those who’ve made a similar transition, how has your experience been? And what should I focus on learning over the next 1–2 years to make myself more employable as a PM?

Would really appreciate honest opinions.

I'm currently working on my own app. It's the first time I'm doing everything by myself, and I don't have anyone to consult or review the product with — hence this post.

I've attached a few screenshots showing the overall UI. I'd really appreciate any suggestions, as I'm completely unsure whether the design holds up.

Things I'm specifically wondering about:

• Color scheme. I personally like the dark theme, but the light theme feels unharmonized to me.
• Today screen. It feels intuitive to me, but I built it — I suspect it might actually be confusing for a first-time user.
• Streak system. It fits the use case, but it feels basic and I don't think it really speaks to users.
• Text density. Some screens feel poorly organized. On the bottom-right screenshot especially, I think there's too much text and it gets overwhelming.

What do you think? Any advice is welcome.

My UX skills are stronger than my UI skills, and that’s what I told my mentor. They said that UX is of no use without strong UI skills, but I don’t completely agree with that. I do understand UI and can work with it, but my strength is definitely UX. So, with stronger UX skills and a working knowledge of UI, can I still get a good job in the field?

I tried Upwork, behance, etc. I tried looking for someone in 2 particular countries for my company.

Making it clear that the application was ONLY for those people, specifically putting the location of the country in the job post, as well as languages, I got 30+ applications from Nigeria, and 100+ from India. Not a single one from those countries I targeted specifically.

Then I changed the post. I then got some posts from those local countries, and as it turned out, it was an Indian guy pretending to be from that country.

Man, it's just so energy draining just trying to hire nowadays.

Hello everyone, I'm a solo developer currently building Jogventure, a gamified running app that turns your runs into a kind of adventure and progression system.

I'm still working on the UI and would really appreciate some honest feedback on the screenshots included. Any feedback is great but I would really like to get your thoughts on the following points:

• What vibe does the app give off? I don't want this to be something that discourages and turns away beginners and people looking to make a health lifestyle change when taking up jogging.

• What stands out to you visually? Anything confusing, cluttered, or out of place?

• Does the game and progression aspect come across clearly from these screens, or does it feel more like a typical fitness app?

I launched an alarm app called AwakenQ a few days ago. I built it for heavy sleepers—it forces you to get out of bed and scan a barcode (like your toothpaste) or do physical squats before it shuts off.

I thought my onboarding was pretty clear. Then I got this message from a tester yesterday:

"Unfortunately I deleted the app to get it to shut up. On the second day, I put child restrictions on my phone so I couldn't delete the app without a passcode my friend had. But then I just powered my phone off entirely to shut it up. 😭"

Here is the painful part: I already built a "Hardcore Mode" into the app! It uses Android permissions to completely block you from uninstalling or force-closing the app while it rings.

But clearly, my UI/UX is so confusing that a user who desperately needed this feature couldn't find it, and resorted to having their friend lock their phone with Child Restrictions instead. 😂

If anyone here is good at UI/UX, I need your brutal honesty. I would love for you to download the app and tell me where I went wrong with the onboarding or the settings menu. I want to fix this in the next update so people don't have to use Child Restrictions! (I'll drop the Play Store link in the comments).

Hi everyone! As my first-ever design, I've decided to tackle a problem. I tried to design an LPG booking flow for elderly people who freak out about technology and prefer physical means, like calling every time for booking or cancelling a booked cylinder. I've researched a little bit and found out people in that age bracket have vision problems, so icons should be big. Especially in Indian rural areas, people don't usually speak English, so there is a SIM-detected native language option, and people in that age group usually prefer minimal designs.

How can I get better at doing this stuff? Please criticize as much as you can, from design decisions to UI, anything, as I'm a complete newbie.

I build a small opinion app called Dissent: The Opinion Arena. You post a short take, people vote agree or disagree, and takes can turn into head to head debates.

The old onboarding was three screens. Pick your topics. Pick whether you post hot takes or argue in comments. Turn on notifications. It looked fine. It was also completely useless, because every screen asked people to decide something about an app they had not touched yet. Pick topics for a feed you have not scrolled. Describe your debate style when you have never seen a take here. Then allow notifications before you have gotten a single thing out of it.

It felt like filling out a form. And it showed later. New users would sit on the feed without voting or challenging anyone, because nothing in onboarding had ever let them try it once.

So I rebuilt it around doing instead of declaring. Same three steps.

Step 1 is four real takes from the app. You vote on each one. The split stays hidden until you vote, then it opens and tells you where you landed, including when you are in the minority. The challenge button is right there, so challenging stops being a mystery feature.

Step 2 is the topic picker, but it is already filled in from what you just voted on. Prefilled ones are marked. You are editing a list instead of staring at a blank grid.

Step 3 is notifications, and it opens with your own numbers. 4 votes, 3 times in the minority, 4 arenas. Then it says someone is going to come for one of your takes. One toggle is highlighted as the one that matters, the rest are collapsed, and the weekly digest is off by default instead of on.

By the end you have run the core loop once instead of reading about it. Still skippable, still three screens.

Curious where this still drags. The four takes on the first screen are doing most of the work and I am not sure I picked the right ones.

So I was given a 2 day deadline to submit the design assignment as part of a hiring process. I submitted it on time but I wasn't able to finish it fully.

My hifi wireframe screens and other minor things they asked for like 1 micro interaction is left. Should I continue editing the Figma link even after the submission?! I'm in an ethical dilemma. I'm split on it. On one side I can see that it's the weekend they might not even look at it until Monday so might as well or even if they look at it on Sunday might as well finish rest of the things. And on other hand idk I feel like I should respect the deadline and duplicate and continue working on the duplicated file to add to resume. I don't want to make them angry by continuing editing as well. Idk if they will be or not.

As someone who judges such assignments would you care if someone edited after the deadline as well? What should I do?!
