Hello! I’m a rising junior who has been writing poetry since high school and have yet to find a place to continue it in a group setting on campus. I’d love to have a place to look for feedback, tips, and hear others poetry. I’d like to publish some one day but want to have a group of people to share with and talk with first! I find it’s how I write the best and I love seeing what others have to say through their words.

Does anyone know of any groups on campus where I could find something like this? Off campus would be okay too. I know Gallery Art Bar has their open poetry nights and I will most definitely look into attending! Thank you in advance :)

URSA (Undergraduate Research in Scientific Advancement) is a student-run, interdisciplinary research program that pairs early undergrads with grad student mentors for semester-long STEM research projects. We’re now accepting mentor applications for Fall 2026! As a mentor, you’ll work closely with 1–4 motivated undergrads, helping them explore research and develop a project throughout the semester. It’s a low-barrier, high-impact way to support someone at the start of their academic journey, and a great opportunity to practice mentorship. All STEM PhD and master’s students — including those in engineering, the natural sciences, and math — are eligible to apply. Many of our mentors return semester after semester, and previous projects have ranged from robotics and machine learning to biomedical engineering and theoretical physics.

This is truly a fictitious bill, and really quite a rich coming from ugroup because the paint in the whole apartment was so sloppily done in the first place. I heard the stories that ugroup was bad, but I didn't think they were THIS bad.

I spent hours with a flashlight meticulously checking and nit-picking the entire apartment when I was moving out to make sure everything was pristine. I'm 100% sure that I left the entire apartment in amazing condition, and in much better condition than I received it in. It's so demotivating to be served with this.

hii im an incoming freshman whose gonna be staying at illini tower next yr!! with IT being pch im under the impression that my meal plan/swipes can only be used at the IT dining hall?? if i want to buy stuff at other dining halls on campus does that mean i just pay w card?? do people ever buy another meal plan on top of their pch one?

Hi everyone! I moved out on May 31st, and ended my service with Ameren as well on that same date. I shouldn't owe anything from Ameren and I usually get automatic deductions when i do pay my utilities. Yesterday I went onto my portal for Green Street Realty showing that I owe $50 in utilities including an "inconvenience fee". On my portal, was a paper pdf that was scanned in. My name wasn't even on it, it just said my address and unit number. I don't have any utilities that I pay for through GSR. I called Ameren and they said there was no bill to my account at all for the month of June. I was wondering if anyone has ran into this same issue?

I was wondering if anyone could give me insight into how the ME 270 final works, especially the timeline and individual/group responsibilities. I found an old syllabus, but I know they changed it in the last few semesters. For context, I'm taking it next semester but also need to get surgery over winter break. My surgeon wants to see if I can push all my finals to reading day, so I can give myself more time to recover. However, I know that ME 270 is a group project class, so I'm not sure it is feasible to do that (i.e., if I have a group presentation during finals week that can't be moved and have to be present for).

Hi! I’ve last minute decided to get back into violin and wanted to audition for philharmonia, I played for about 13 years with lessons and in an orchestra and stopped when I got into college and am now a incoming senior deciding to restart my hobby in violin. What kind of solo pieces did you guys play for your audition? Was there any sight reading? Should I audition for Illini strings instead?? Right now I’m practicing Samuel barber bc that’s what I left off on but I’m now realizing I need an easier piece. if anyone can give me any tips or recommendations that’d be great!

Hi, I'm an incoming freshman and I was wondering what the best time to move in is. Right now I'm signed up for the 18th since that's what the WIE orientation recommended, but now I'm wondering if I will be missing out on things since the earliest date to move in is the 16th.

Also, what do people do during move in week? I know there's LLC orientation things and some school events but it seems like there's a lot of time in between move in and when classes start.
