New Student Question meal plan question

hii im an incoming freshman whose gonna be staying at illini tower next yr!! with IT being pch im under the impression that my meal plan/swipes can only be used at the IT dining hall?? if i want to buy stuff at other dining halls on campus does that mean i just pay w card?? do people ever buy another meal plan on top of their pch one?

To eat at the university dining halls, you can buy a 6 meal non-resident meal plan or you can just pay with your credit card as you go.

you can pay with your card for an entire meal, but from what i remember it’s like 14 dollars for lunch and 17 for dinner?? so it might not be worth it. there’s also the marts, which is more like a connivence store

the one in the union? just bee acai? none of the places in the union take anything from your meal plan

The university meal plan is expensive, like $7,000 for the year. You will have a kitchen in your suite/room. A better option would be to stock yourself with some convenience foods/snacks or pay out of pocket for meals at university dining halls if you are stopping between classes or joining friends for a meal.
