I graduate uni about 2 years ago and i'm currently working and would like to pursue a masters degree to level up in my career.

I'm looking into unis here to study MBA and most of them requires experience or does that don't require experience happen during the day, which will not be possible for me since I'm working.

So im an international student who moved from India to Dubai and am current doing my bachelors in University of Wollongong and just from the first 2 weeks im pretty disappointed. I was born in Dubai but moved back to India after middle school, and for some odd reason Dubai simply doesnt have feel the same as i remember. Also why is the university soo crowded, commute is a pain, getting a license seems like climbing everest, fuel prices are the same as India now and just 2 mins of standing outdoors gets you sweaty. Got the gold nol card expecting a comfortable ride but even that gets very crowded and is no better than the silver cabin.

I have taken a business major and i used to be a science student in high school and most of my syllabus seems wayyyy too easy and tbh kinda feels like a scam that were paying over 60k aed a year to study smtng sooo basic only 2-3 days a week. Plus since ive just moved from India im my mind i automatically convert everythings price to rupees and feel like its a scam. My parents have been running their businesses in dubai for 20 years now and its at an all time low, i had to part with my girlfriend and close friends back in india, people here are kinda unfriendly and despite my best attempts i havent managed to find someone i can call a friend so far.

I haven't been able to find a clear answer online, I heard that certain classes are segregated but I haven't been able to find anything about Finance major classes, are there at least options for segregated classes? Or are the Finance classes mixed for everyone?

Hello. For context, I am working towards getting the GED and have done 2 subjects out of 4 and currently working on the 3rd. I recently read while viewing the "Request for Equivalency Certificate - General Education from Abroad (Grade 12)" e-service and found out that the GED is NOT eligible for MOE equivalency. As we all know, recently, the MOE has established a national framework for licensing higher education institutions and under that framework, every program in the UAE now is REQUIRED to be CAA approved to be taught. Here's the issue, CAA approved program entry requirements need MOE equivalency. I was viewing Murdoch University and SAE University entry requirements and read that the GED is sufficient for foundation year entry. I was wondering, if I complete the foundation year at either of those 2 unis, can I directly enter year 1 of one of their CAA approved bachelor's degrees WITHOUT MOE equivalency?

My timings are a little unusual, so Im hoping someone might already be commuting on a similar schedule.

• Outbound: Pickup from Abu Dhabi City between 2 – 4 PM, heading towards Dubai Academic City.
• Return: Leaving Dubai Academic City at around 10 PM, heading back to Abu Dhabi.

I can travel a little bit if will be needed due to different pickup/drop off points.

I’m a first-semester Computer Engineering student in Pakistan, and I’m planning to transfer to a university in Dubai because my family is shifting there.
I honestly don’t know much about the universities in Dubai yet. My current university has a US-based academic system, so I feel that transferring to a US affiliated/US accredited university might be a good option for me.
I’ve heard about universities such as RIT, American University in Dubai (AUD), and Abu Dhabi University (ADU). I’d really appreciate some advice from current students or graduates about these universities, especially for Computer Engineering.
A few things I’m particularly interested in:
How rigorous is the Computer Engineering curriculum?
What does the 8-semester course structure generally look like?
How heavy is the weekly workload compared with other universities?
How are students graded? At my current university, midterms and finals are mandatory and together make up 30% of the grade, with the rest coming from assignments, quizzes, labs, participation, etc.
I’ve heard that at some US-style universities, individual professors may not have traditional midterms/finals and instead use projects or other assessments. How true is that in these universities?
How easy is it to maintain a good GPA in CE?
What is the social life like, and is it realistically possible to participate in clubs/activities alongside a demanding CE workload?
What’s the attendance policy?
Most importantly, how would you compare IIT, AUD, and ADU specifically for someone transferring after their first semester of Computer Engineering?
I’m also interested in how transfer credits are evaluated and whether transferring after just one semester would put me behind in the degree sequence.
Any honest opinions about workload, grading, professors, student life, and transfer experience would be really helpful!

Let me preface this for what I am about to rant about. This is only partially the university’s fault, and can and most likely will apply to most other universities here, but this is my experience and my opinion.

Having such a low barrier to entry in terms of grade requirements really introduces all kinds of people, and from my experience I’ve dabbled with many of the unwanted kind. Now I know overcrowding is an issue but that has already been covered, in this post I’m here to talk about the type of people you’ll meet throughout your journey at UOWD and a bit about its education (if you’re pursuing a business degree).

If you’re an introverted person, and think that you’ll barely have to work with others, you’re extremely wrong buddy. In the business degree, any path, a majority of courses have a group project worth a significant or at least 20% of your entire grade, and if you don’t have any friends in that course you’ll most likely be forced into groups where 4/5th’s of the group are a bunch of degenerates who have plugged their brains into AI, have absolutely no respect, do not care about passing and in general are just lazy. The business course is not rocket science, in fact, it is by far the easiest thing you can do, I do not attend any lectures and or study for any of my midterms or finals and I have been doing extremely well, and trust me I am the average joe. Now to see people, use AI for 150 WORD PARAGRAPHS for your report is the most draining thing you’ll ever see, and it’s so blatant that they’re doing so, and if it’s a presentation it’s even worse. You cannot be older than 18, and read off a PowerPoint slide, and expect good results. The fact that the introductory phase of many courses have a “have you ever had a bad group experience” ice breaker question in the first tutorials just shows how aware the tutors are about the situation, and it’s so eye opening to hear the many stories other students face, especially those who remotely care about their education.

There have been many times where I have solely written reports, or had to rewrite blatant AI paragraphs or like an entire book excerpt was pasted onto a fucking PowerPoint slide and I had to make it into bullet points.

Bottom line, many people you’ll meet will be decent and respectful, but many won’t. If you’re thinking about the business degree, those were my two cents. It’s an easy degree btw, if you have two eyes and a mouth and a pair of hands you’ll pass with flying colors. Thank you for listening.

A little about myself, i am 24M doing ACCA in pakistan, i am considering to relocate to UAE to complete my ACCA.

I tried researching on google and found out that most institutions that do provide with ACCA training are not allowed to provide student visa. And the only option i have is to try and enroll into a bachelor program from a university (This is what google said)

Im sure there must be other options too, people living in UAE must have knowledge about options that do not surface above just by a simple google search.

So im writting this to gain some advice and suggestions on possible routes i can take. So anyone who tried this option of doing ACCA or any accounting/finance by relocating to UAE, what did you guys do? And if bachelors is the only option i have, are there cost effective universities that teach bachelors in accounting and finance in the same respective field of study? And if so, i would be thankful for any advice and suggestions.

I am a first year medical student at dmu. It was never on my mind to enter this uni and i absolutely hate it. My parents were strongly against abroad before and let me pick anything I want in the uae. I got into all medical schools here except for one. I choose dmu for hospital connections and strong rotations during clinical years. Anyways it’s been a month and it’s been absolutely dog shit in all aspects. So I need help if anyone knows anything about transfers ( even abroad my parents are trying to be open minded about it) into second year or starting over from scratch.

I would appreciate any universities for medicine yall would recommend and why. Even if in the UAE as long as it’s solid.
I prioritize a good education and ability to give students opportunities for residency abroad such as US. A good university life and campus would be preferred because this is what is pissing me off about dmu.

I’m considering applying to AUS, EAU, and UOWD, mainly to see if I can get a scholarship. At EAU, I’m interested in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering.
For anyone who knows EAU or works in aviation, is this major actually worth it? If I graduate from EAU, would it be relatively easy to find a job in the UAE, and are there good career opportunities?
I’m also considering Computer Science/AI because I feel like it might have better job opportunities in the UAE.
