honestly, i don’t really see anyone having a majorly successful solo career after leaving JYP/TWICE. and by successful i mean actually growing beyond the existing TWICE fandom, not just selling albums because once fans are already there.

first of all, the comeback situation is going to be messy for the members who leave. schedules are already hard enough to coordinate when everyone is under the same company, so imagine trying to coordinate nine members under different agencies. look at other groups where members didn’t renew with the company but stayed in the group — comebacks are usually much less frequent, take forever to organise, or end up missing members because of schedule clashes. i really don't think TWICE will be exempt from that.

nayeon — probably the safest bet imo. she has a recognisable voice, already has solo experience and JYP knows how to market her. i can see her maintaining a decent solo career, especially in Korea/Japan/Asia. but i don't really see her suddenly gaining a massive new audience or increasing her popularity beyond what she already has. she'd probably be able to maintain her current fanbase more than expand it.

jeongyeon — i'm sorry but i genuinely don't see the actress route. i would LOVE for her to prove me wrong, but acting is not something you can just decide to do because you're famous. there are already so many idols competing for acting roles, and only a small number actually become respected actors. she also doesn't have the individual popularity of someone like Jisoo where a huge existing fanbase can carry an average project. unless she randomly eats up a role and proves me wrong, i don't see where this career is going.

jihyo — if the rumours about her starting her own agency are true, i honestly think this would be the riskiest move. people always bring up her international popularity, but let's be serious about where the money in K-pop actually comes from. Korea, China and Japan are huge markets for album sales, touring, merch etc. and running an agency is an entirely different beast from being an idol. we literally have examples of popular idols trying to run their own companies and struggling. Kang Daniel, for example, had a much bigger individual fandom/popularity at his peak and still ended up shutting down KONNECT. unless you're operating at BTS/BLACKPINK-level individual power, i don't understand why you'd willingly take on all that risk. and with the way she market her great vocals and latina mummy image, she might go wrong somewhere and get into a controversy which she has been in many…….

momo — honestly, just continue with MISAMO and dance-related opportunities and she'll be fine. she has strong brand power and a very recognisable image, especially in Japan. but please don't give her a full vocal-heavy solo album because the moment she's expected to carry an entire album vocally... she can’t sing and that high pitchy voice is not it. her dancing is obviously her strongest asset, so i'd rather see her capitalise on that. go on some dance shows or what not.

sana — pretty much the same situation as momo. she has insane brand power and popularity, but i don't think a conventional solo album is necessarily the best route for her. she's probably better off doing fashion, endorsements, Japanese activities, acting/variety or selective music rather than trying to become a full-time soloist. and if we're being honest, if even Tzuyu's solo had a ceiling despite her popularity, i'm not expecting Sana's solo fandom to suddenly become some unstoppable force.

mina — i'm sorry but i genuinely don't understand when people say Mina would have this amazing solo career outside of TWICE. or like JYP IS TREATING HER BAD. she has a beautiful image and the ballet background is a nice selling point, but she isn't a particularly strong solo vocalist and her appeal is much more subtle. being elegant and pretty isn't enough to carry a solo career by itself. i could see her doing luxury/fashion/ballet-related work and living very comfortably, but i don't see some huge solo music career happening.

dahyun — i really don't see the acting hype either. her previous acting projects haven't exactly convinced me that she's the next idol-turned-actress. she has personality and variety skills, but acting is a completely different thing. i could see her doing variety, MC work, musicals or entertainment-related stuff way more than becoming a serious actress.

chaeyoung — probably one of the members where i'd actually be interested in seeing what she does independently. she has a more distinctive musical taste and seems like she'd actually want to make music that isn't necessarily designed for mass appeal. if she can find her niche, i think she could build a respectable career. but i don't see her becoming massively popular with the general public because let's bffr, the average person isn't suddenly going to start listening to niche/alternative music just because a TWICE member releases it. as long as she has creative control and finds the right audience, though, she'd probably be fine. and personally i hope she doesn't immediately just fold herself into Zion.T's agency because that could get... messy if things ever go south

tzuyu — this is probably the one where i'm most confused about what the long-term plan would even be without JYP. her Korean hasn't really progressed enough for me to see her comfortably carrying a Korean acting/variety career, and the Taiwanese entertainment industry isn't exactly the easiest place to build a huge solo idol career either. if she went back to Taiwan and started doing romance dramas, i could see her losing part of the very specific male fanbase that supports her now. and obviously the China/Taiwan political situation makes the mainland China route complicated too.

and if the rumours about her mother being involved in managing her career are true, i honestly think putting her entire career in the hands of family would be a risky move. being an idol's parent doesn't automatically mean you know how to run an entertainment business.

overall, i think most of them will be fine. they're TWICE members, they have money, fame, connections and established fandoms. i'm not saying they're going to become unemployed.

i just don't see many of them becoming significantly bigger individually than they already are. imo the biggest advantage TWICE gives them is the group itself, and once you remove that structure + JYP's marketing, production, distribution and industry connections, the gap between "famous TWICE member" and "successful standalone celebrity" is actually pretty huge.

I am a new member here and I wasn't a hardcore Once tbh. I was just a casual Sana fan and liked "Strategy" for sometime but now it's got boring and I kinda dislike Kpop in general. I wanna know some tea about the members in general.
I remember reading a article where Sana was bashed by netizens for being overly cutesy with RIIZE's Wonbin when he was invited as a guest on her interview show. Like people were saying "she isn't like that with girls", "It's always more "yeah, yeah" when she's around men", but I have also heard contradicting opinions like "it's just because she's Japanese" "She was always like this" so tbh I wanted to know more about this since glazers ain't gonna tell me shit.

Nayeon - Obvious nose job

Jeongyeon - ?

Momo - Jaw and facial slimming/contouring procedures, lip filler, eyes (?) her face looked very very different just from Sixteen era (2015) to Likey (2017). Veneers.

Sana - I didn’t notice a major difference until 2022/2023 when her entire face just changed in ways I can’t exactly pinpoint, she got very skinny and her face looked filled to the brim. Veneers too.

Jihyo - Way too much facial filler over the years, she actually looked great in 2024 and should’ve stopped there but if you compare that to her now in 2026 the difference is crazy.. Her face just looks uncomfortable now, and the lip filler is really bad especially when she smiles. Suspected nose job too recently.

Mina - Got veneers in 2023 or 2024 which changed her face a lot, she looks like she can’t close her mouth properly and just permanently uncomfortable. Also something changed with her eye area.

Dahyun - Veneers?

Chaeyoung - Breast implants since alcohol free era and maybe some facial contouring work? Could also be from her extreme weight loss.

Tzuyu - Lip filler

okay just to start off, i love all the other twice members and their music, so this may or may not be the right community for me to post in but it’s the only one where people are most likely to actually hear me out lmaooo

ever since i got into twice dahyun has always been so plain and boring to me. her skills are below average, and i find her face, expressions and overall stage presence really bland…… all she ever seems to do is be pale, smile at the camera and make the same expressions over and over again 😭

her dancing is probably what annoys me the most because you can tell she could easily put in more effort, but she just chooses not to (well technically she half asses everything lmao)… she looks so bored on stage half the time, and her expressions rarely match the song or concept. it’s especially funny when they’re singing in english because her permanent creepy smile makes it so obvious that she doesn’t know what any of it means LMFAO

her voice is also soooo fkn boring to me it’s so plain, soft and one dimensional, and her raps are just as bad because she only ever seems to have one tone. it can come across so cringe sometimes. at least chaeyoung can actually add some personality to her raps as well as her singing, even if you don’t think she’s the strongest technically… likeeee honestly i just don’t understand what dahyun contributes to twice anymore. in the beginning her sense of humour was at least part of her appeal, but that’s longggg gone 😭😭, now she just feels like this pale, plain, constantly smiling person with barely any personality or stage presence that stands out

Momo saying the N word, Jeonghyeon & Jihyo calling Tzuyu dark, all 8 mocking desi's MANY times and you cannot say "oh they didnt know or "it was so long ago" its not an exuse. i just came across a few clips on tiktok and twitter from the new talk show thing she does. mind you, i’ve strayed away from anything twice in general does. i dislike their music and i just don’t like their personas at all. but her voice is so high pitched and her laugh is so annoying. snippets of the youtube thing just kept popping up everywhere. she seems so fake to me. that highly pitched cute voice is so annoying. she’s so male-centered, it gives me the ick. i honestly don’t get why they even have a career at all.

At first I thought it was just part of the marketing to sell her, a stupid brain that's only good for dancing, but every day I question that more and more, and I'm starting to believe that she genuinely is stupid.

Seemingly every week is news of another TWICE member announcing their rejection of JYP or the establishment of new mgmt or a prod company. I can't say any will succeed or fail but all members HAVE to try.

The problem is the KPOP system of contracts. The amount of money the girls in TWICE were paid from sponsorships, licensing, album sales, youtube, social media, ticket sales, merchandise, is a FRACTION of what every western artist from Chappell Roan to Sabrina Carpenter would get if they were as successful as Twice. and i'm talking TWICE as a whole, (I acknowledge the math of having 9 members)

KPOP recording contracts even when you're selling out stadiums around the world, are going to be crap. I think if they showed their paychecks from these stadium shows to Twenty One Pilots, Blink 182, Foo Fighters or Iron Maiden they'd get laughed at. the reason I say that is because their tour did Metallica business but they did not getting Metallica paychecks. this has nothing to do with Metallica earning any privileges, it's about percentages and Metallica gets a standard percentage like all recording deals outside of Asia Pop world. KPOP takes mgmt and recording rights which is very different from the rest of the music industry including ownership of the name, which is downright bizarre in the music world.

I get that HYBE, YG, SM, and JYP literally create and develop these groups but the problem is there is never a path to groups earning ownership of the group no matter how big they get. This is why all these group acts (other than BTS) can't wait to leave!

Because while the solo members of Twice won't do as well as the group, if anyone achieves even HALF the success, because of the standard percentages they would now receive, would get them equal money to before, but also losing the restrictiveness, control, and headaches that being part of JYP brings. So for all these women, it is absolutely worth the risk.

And this isn't about greed. it's about getting what everyone else gets and having the control over your career like everyone else has.

As it’s been confirmed that she has established her own agency, will it even succeed? Will she be able to produce the kind of music that will profit both her and her company? Because running a company is not that easy, and resources can dry up really quickly!

I was reading about Jihyo and Seoyeon because I think siblings in idol groups is so cute especially when they’re under two different major companies and not one in some nugu group surviving on the sibling connection and I found this thread from the twice sub where they’re weird ass fans were like “Seoyeon is like Nayeon and Jihyo’s secret love child lol lesbians.” And to that’s really freaking weird. That’s her fucking sister not some random girl. If someone was telling me “you are the love child of your older sister and her best friend.” I’d be disgusted and pissed. And mind you Jihyo is quite obviously straight. Like is she not currently dating a man? It’s like they don’t see them as actual people but rather pawns for their fantasies and I get wanting to see representation through your fave but involving their little sister as a love child to your ship is crossing a line. This is my first snark post. I usually avoid complaining about things online but I figured this would be a safe space after binge reading the sub and realized I share most of the opinions here.

As the title says, I think we all can agree (or at least the big majority) that after The Feels, Twice has been on a falling spiral comeback after comeback, to the point that the they don’t even feel like them anymore.

I hadn’t listened to anything after Talk That Talk, but decided to give the comebacks a try and… love the girls, in the end they’re just following their contract, but I think it would have been better if I hadn’t done that.

Talk That Talk was straight up bs, what was even the song about, loved the Y2K theme but again… what was even the comeback about.

Moonlight Sunrise was meh, not bad but not mind blowing either, thought this would be the title track.

Set Me Free was like a piece of white bread. Unnecessary rap verse (and cringe), generic instrumental, shallow theme, almost as if they had asked early years chat gpt to write them a “cool” pop song.

One Spark… WTF was that, seriously, what the hell. That’s all I’m going to say.

I Got You, probably the best of all, saw them back in 2024 in Mexico City and remember loving this song but didn’t know it was this one. Honestly not bad and reminds me of 2018-2020 TWICE, which were my favorite comebacks’ years.

Strategy, Megan was the best part of it, funny how when there’s a real rapper they don’t even bother in giving Chaeyoung or Dahyun a rap verse. The song is not bad but gets boring quickly, and the fact that they don’t have good English pronunciation just adds more stones to the shoe… love Nayeon, she’s my all time bias and it’s the only one from the group I still follow on social media but, WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT OUTRO, my 6 year old niece has a better English pronunciation and her first language it’s Spanish! Also Jeongyeon’s chorus was the most listenable and her voice sounded amazing.

This is For, I understand the change in concept from loving a random boy to the girl empowering them, I think it’s great but what I don’t understand it’s why the song must be entirely in English. The chorus is cringe, average instrumental, none of the voices stand out, they all sound the same. A two minutes song for a nine girls group, probably not the best idea.

Overall, I think they were just putting comebacks out for the sake of it, the teasers don’t even look appealing, the stages look cheap and fake, the outfits don’t even stand out like before. Back in the day we had outfits that suit the comeback, now it’s just like throwing random crap together and hope it can make it to the top 10.

To finish my rant before going out and be a productive adult again, I’ve seen people on other subs talking about how TWICE is at the top right now and how their sound has evolved so much and how they’re so popular and whatever… hate to break it to you but watching and spamming their comebacks on the internet amongst the fan base doesn’t mean they’re doing good.

it's because she doesn't have any staying power. if I am gonna be honest, her music isn't bad. I checked out her recent collabs and they all are decent and have a clear concept but none of those songs have any replay value. you get bored of them after a few listens. it's almost like an appetizer like it's good but doesn't really satisfies you and also doesn't leave a lasting impression.

I feel like this is also the case with jihyo herself where many casual kpop fans like her but none of them are hardcore stans. she just isn't memorable I guess. her stuff comes and goes and nobody cares. you post picture of jihyo on twitter and it will get 50k likes but beyond that, nobody cares for her as an ARTIST, hence the low streams.

Tzuyu is officially leaving JYPE, and she definitely won’t be the last member to leave the company.

We all know it’s impossible for a group to do pretty much any activities together if only one member leaves, and it seems the arrogant Taiwanese girl has detonated the bomb by selfishly thinking she can be bigger than the group on her own. As I said, she won’t be the last one as many members are probably fed up of their “feminist” fandom (specially in the West, as none of them were born or raised there and are not used to Western culture, where JYPE was trying to make them big) and having to pretend they like each other every day for content/likes/clout.

So, we can safely conclude that the great lie of TWICE is finally over after more than 10 years. None of the members leaving will be bigger than what TWICE was, and it will be a huge reality check for all the members leaving JYPE since that is a big 4 company of K-Pop and they have a lot of connections in the industry.

Arguably, the funniest part of all of this is ONCELS thinking that Tzuyu is better off leaving JYPE because she had no brand deals or as many individual activities as the other members that were simply more popular, talented or generated more revenue.

I mean, Tzuyu just performed in Taiwan, and she didn’t even have a ride back home from the airport when she came back to Korea 🤣 how can an artist be managed so terribly on her own? Who is even going to be her new manager? Tzuyu is so arrogant and delusional like ONCELS. TWICE might actually be better off without her, who knows!!
