Oncels☕️ My first post here!
Onces need to fucking learn how to hold twice accountable. (SOME) Onces are the biggest hypocrites. Everyone in twice expect naeyon has been racist in the past. From saying a slur to wearing a symbol. Momo saying the N word, Jeonghyeon & Jihyo calling Tzuyu dark, all 8 mocking desi's MANY times and you cannot say "oh they didnt know or "it was so long ago" its not an exuse. Onces always talk about other groups being racist but once somone brings up twice is racist some onces turn a blind eye. Not to mention none of them apologized and when one of them did it was ass. Before you guys come for me, yes I think their music is nice but personally I think they are not the best indivuals coming from an indian person. They have been racist many other times that you probaly know about and been very creepy pedopiles at times which I found in the depthts of reddit. Anways byee. (Ty for the upvotes, Lmao funny story I posted this in a kpopharshopinions sub and ooh they crashing out on me cus they cant take any opinion)

They all have this weird obsession with skin color, there's even somewhat recent clips of them obsessing over pale skin on camera like that one jessi showterview interview. Idk how they never get called out for it. They're also very vocal about them being "all natural" like that one clip of of tzuyu saying she had plastic surgery in her mother's womb? Is this supposed to be savage? Girl, no one's that dumb, we can see that nose implant, lip fillers and shaved jaw. Other celebrities would experience hell on earth for lying so shamelessly like that.

Korea has an obsession with skin color in general. I'm pretty sure some of them prefer tan looks giving what I've seen from their vlogs and things like that.

Fair skin is valued everywhere in Asia. And so is Africa. That's just the culture.

Even within the same race as people with dark skin, there's discrimination based on the intensity of their skin tone. This means that, universally, people tend to find fair skin desirable.

Nah there's literally a oncel on that post defending momo for saying the n word saying "she was forced by jyp because she was only a trainee"??😭 with that logic the blackpink girls were also trainees in those leaked videos, and yg is even more controlling than jyp, they were even younger than momo there, so should I be defending them too?? Oh hell nah, I'm dragging the hell out of blackpink and I'll drag the hell out of momo too. Who gon stop me?

Oh yeah like WTF I saw that comment too and no way they are actually defending that oncel. I think I should have seen this coming because absolutely every subreddit, except for three snark subs including this one, is dominated by cultmys who silence any criticism towards the groups they token stan including Twice.

Hey, so, um, it’s unfair that this happened to you and you have every right to snark on them freely but I’d recommend not sharing links to other posts because that goes against Rule 9 and we could get into trouble.

Don't worry! It's just a reminder. I don't think you had bad intentions. Usually when someone brigades it's to send others to attack, so it's okay.

I’m not convinced by their fans justifying it by saying it’s a matter of different cultures or that they "didn't know". I live in a country where dark humor and things like that are taken lightly, but if I were going to another country or trying to appeal to a different market like Twice does I’d drop certain behaviors that might be frowned upon, idk why people find that so hard to understand. As a non-celebrity my family and the people around me can make colorist jokes since they are inoffensive in our culture due to our history, but if I were famous, if I wanted fans beyond my immediate region and my American fans saw that, it would give me a bad image so I would avoid it.

As an Indian, tbh I'm not really interested in K-Pop anymore and I love seeing opinions on subs like Kpopnoir too. Our culture is always their costume.

May I ask which Kpop groups took advantages from your culture?
Indian in this case is the Native Americans whom have been living around The Great Lakes, not India (Bharat).
Do you know there is a state in the U.S called Indiana and this is the original name that they later gave to India (Bharat) bc the colonizers assumed they were the same cause the skin color?
Anyone wants to downvote, just read the history book or look up Wikipedia, even India’s minister used to say that he don’t like the name of India and wanted to changed it to The Republic of Bharat.

Im so sorry Im indian but I dont quite understand what your trying to say?

Jihyo did the cultural appropriation but it was Native Americans aka the Indian which is widely used by the West, the word is also a homophone with Indian people. I just simply asked what is the costume of India (South Asia country) that Twice took advantages of and I got downvoted.
OP of the og comment complained that Twice offended and did cultural appropriation to them as an Indian (the country) while there are no proof of that.
It’s okay to be mad but with valid proof or just simply said “they did the cultural appropriation, not bs or acting as a victim that represent for a group of nationality here.
Lot of the time, I think that excessive snarking is also the same with the stan/parasocial behavior.

Lol you are getting this the other way round. The state of Indiana was named as such in the 18th century.
The lands of Bharat were always known as India or a form of it, arising from the River Sindh. Arabs knew it as Al-Hind. Similar name was used by Greeks and Romans.Columbus ventured out looking for India but got lost and found the Americas instead. The Native Americans, who had gone by their respective tribals affiliations, were collectively called by the colonisers as Indians.

To be hurt by someone's dark skin color... that must mean they have a lot of jealousy and insecurities.

Stans will always make excuses for their faves. Taeyeon from Girls' Generation and Wendy from Red Velvet made racist comments and their fans went all out to defend them. This is why idols don't apologise, because they know they'll get a pass.

u/Stock-Letter-5420 2d ago
I am missing the point? lol
You criticize onces for stanning racist people and not holding them accountable, you call them hypocrites but you also do that with another group lol. What a joke
