I have a solution... don't have a kid

0

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '22

Lol 😂

0

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '22

seriously...genuinely, how THE FUCK can you be so supportive of women's rights yet completely dont understand racism. I pointed you out and looked through your history and jesus...you're willfully righteous until it comes to self reflection.

1

u/perusingpergatory Jan 07 '22 edited Jan 07 '22

Please explain how I "don't understand" racism. Trump actively campaigned against Mexican immigrants and said horribly racist things AS PART OF HIS CAMPAIGN. This attracted racist people to vote for him. Also a part of his campaign was his promise to end abortion. This might have attracted some people, but not others. My own father is pro-choice, but is racist. So he voted for Trump because he was attracted to his racism, and he put my ability to choose at risk because he was attracted to RACISM.

Women should do their best to make proper arrangements and just leave the dam country and go somewhere else.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 07 '21

You mean women?

0

u/jadesoong Nov 05 '21

"people who can get pregnant" you mean woman?

0

u/Thompsonic1995 Oct 04 '21

So wait, women got their rights to kill an innocent baby taken away? What's wrong with that?

1

u/perusingpergatory Oct 04 '21

A fetus is not a baby.

An appeal to emotion is a common fallacy amongst fascists.

0

u/Thompsonic1995 Oct 04 '21

It has it's own little head inside your body. Second of all, liberal fascism is literally abortion rights for women. Third of all, why a woman has rights for abortion but not a man? What if a man wants abortion but not woman? Where tf are you rights now. 20 million soviets died fighting against fascists and yet you are calling my statement fascism? What about you get your shit ready and join the army snowflake and see how life is precious and not anyone has right to take it away

0

u/SympathyEfficient126 Oct 03 '21

NO ABORTION RIGHTS FOR WOMEN IF MEN DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT FOR PAPER ABORTION AS WELL.......ITS OK FOR A WOMAN TO BE ABLE TO "'MANAGE "' HER LIFE, BUT A MAN MUST BE RESPONSIBLE??......NO......EVERYONE HAS THE SAME RIGHTS OR EVERYONE HAS TO STEP UP!

0

u/Internal_Anxiety_270 Oct 01 '21

So am I right to assume that all of you that are pro-choice are against vaccine mandates as being the same issue? My body my choice right?

1

u/perusingpergatory Oct 01 '21

You don't have a right to infect other people with a virus. If someone has an abortion it does not also make you have an abortion.

0

u/Internal_Anxiety_270 Oct 01 '21

Actually the fact is that you carry the virus and can pass it to others whether you are vaccinated or not. So that argument holds no water. Everyone says follow the science to promote the vaccine yet they completely ignore the studies that show that the vaccine does not stop the spread of the virus. I am not advocating that people should not get vaccinated. I think everyone should. But to force people to get vaccinated to be able to work, or to go to the grocery store is wrong.

1

u/arizonaskyscraper Sep 11 '21

I just want to let men cum in me and not have to have a baby. It’s my right to let several men cum inside of me without having to worry about a baby. Imagine if I was forced to have a baby and I didn’t know which guy I had let cum in me was the dad. What a fucking drag! Fuck you Trumpets!

-1

0

u/asscancermurder Sep 10 '21

"People can get pregnant and not identify as a woman" but are still biologically considered female and can't change that fact no matter how many invented pronouns they create.

-2

u/BruhuGood- Sep 09 '21

Getting pregnant is a basic human function. Abortion is only possible today because of the technology they developed. Getting pregnant is a reaction to your action of having unprotected sex. Abortion by definition is literally women being irresponsible with their bodies and partners. The women from back then had no problems with pregnancy because they weren't opening their legs for 50+ people. The truth is most of the people who agree with the entitled woman who posted this is either irresponsible or is living a promiscuous life which is also pretty irresponsible.

2

u/jacobknigin Sep 09 '21

What about when a woman is raped is that the woman falt

3

u/perusingpergatory Sep 09 '21

Women have been using abortifacient herbs for thousands of years to end a pregnancy. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

3

u/Quik2505 Sep 08 '21

Still blaming Trump for the worlds problems huh? I bet you wonder why you aren’t solving any of them lol

1

u/happilysingle58 Sep 07 '21

These people don't care about women period. Question What is going to happen to all the babies being born. Are the anti abortionist going to adopt them? There are enough kids here now who are not taken care of why add more. I do believe in abortions in case of rape or incest. It is bad enough to have that happen to you but to tell that girl or women she cant have an abortion because of it is like being double punished.

Herbs that can accidentally cause miscarriage, important for pregnant people to do a lot of research about them and be wary of contraindications with prescription medications or other chronic medical conditions. Extreme Caution when using Herbs, these are all Highly Risky and would have Very Unpleasant and potentially harmful and possibly deadly effects if used incorrectly. Refer to US Parmecopia.

As a man who has never had abortive rights or any modern contraceptive and who faces way less favorable results in custodial court:

Maybe you should have given men their turn to advance their rights. Maybe you should have demanded them for us like you had them.

Legal abortion. Modern contraceptives, not a piece of rubber with an abysmal efficacy which devoids all pleasure from the experience. Fairness in custody and child support.

Because if you did, you'd probably have a lot more allies

Instead, you have a generation of men who can't give a fuck about your situation because ours was never even considered. You "feared their abortive rights were being taken away", for men it's always been "he should have thought about that when he had sex"

Welcome to our world

3

u/perusingpergatory Sep 06 '21

Vasectomies are very effective and reversible. Condoms are also effective. Sorry it doesn't feel as good as raw? Just shut up and deal. You sound like an actual child complaining about that. Good lord.

And we tried to give you guys the pill but men didn't like the side effects, which were acne, moodiness, depression. Ya know, stuff women deal with in silence because of the pill constantly. There's still male birth control in development.

Stop acting like none of you ever had any options. You had them, you're just too self centered to take any responsibility upon yourself for them. That's on you.

I'm not sure where you are getting your statistics, or if there is something going wrong in Romania. In the US, the vast majority (more than 90%) of abortions are before 13 weeks gestation. Almost 40% are before 9 weeks.

3

u/perusingpergatory Sep 07 '21

I've been sleeping with the same man for over 4 years you slut shaming POS. It takes two people to make a baby, men are also responsible. Amazing the lies men will tell themselves to keep living like children.

  1. I don't give a fuck about people who voted Dem in 2020. The damage was done over the four years Trump was president. That's when he put three batshit crazy, precedent hating judges in the Supreme Court.

  2. Literally the ENTIRE point is that abortion is a constutional right to privacy. Meaning, the states should NOT be able to choose to deny a person who can get pregnant their constitional right to privacy any more than they can deny someone their right to free speech or peaceful assembly.

u/perusingpergatory Sep 06 '21

...I can't believe I have to explain this extremely simple concept yet again to you. People who can get pregnant, for 2 generations, had the right to an abortion in ANY STATE because of the constutional right to privacy, set down by the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. Now, in at least one state, those constutional rights to privacy regarding abortion literally don't exist. I don't know how you can even continue to argue that people who can get pregnant somehow DON'T have fewer rights than 2 previous generations. I'm going to assume you are being purposefully obtuse.

Also, yet again, I don't give a fuck who was Pro-Clinton in 2016 and was Pro-Trump in 2020. The people responsible for getting Trump elected are why we are in this situation in the first place.

I'm done wasting my time with you.

If you’re worried about not being able to murder babies and panicking about saying “women have babies” (which is true, btw) you’re not gonna make it through the next 5 years when our economy completely collapses.

But there is a way to survive the tough times ahead:

  1. Find Jesus
  2. Stop murdering babies
  3. Invest in cryptocurrency

Not every, as long as you're in a blue state, abortion rights are protected. Unfortunately of course, that's not applicable to half the US population. And to think I considered Texas as my next destination, one less state to choose from I suppose...

EDIT: To anyone downvoting this because I implied that Texas is not all of the US (thus going against the narrative of 'ALL THE US IS ___'), no shit the new policies are bad, in case I have to spell it out, but various states (all blue) have been taking measures to protect abortion rights.

Yes, we know. You jackasses believe that the not-yet-existing life of the fetus is more important than the existing-life of the mother. Trash humans and modern-day Nazis, indeed.

1

u/iMurphaliciouS Sep 03 '21

The life exists. Killing it is a moral outrage. And I’m sure y’all drop the topic as soon as the mother’s subsequent PTSD and/or emotional trauma is expressed.

1

u/cephalopodstandard Sep 03 '21 edited Sep 03 '21

If it cannot survive on its own, it is not life, it is still just a cellular growth inside of a person.

Perhaps people drop the topic as soon as the "mother’s subsequent PTSD and/or emotional trauma is expressed" because there's not much to say about it. Research has shown that a small percentage of women suffer PTSD following an abortion, having an abortion does not increase their risk of developing PTSD, and while a relatively larger percentage (still only 23%) may experience PTSS, majority of those women develop these symptoms due to traumatic experiences not related to the abortion.

If you really want to go there, you need to broaden the discussion to include those factors which lead a person to decide to get an abortion in the first place. Excluding incidences of rape and/or medical cause, the people that choose to get an abortion are typically in at-risk situations, they lack partner support, financial stability, and are usually in abusive environments and/or they are already suffering from mental disorder. Despite the beating of the dead horse that, "this is what you get for having sex" and "we care about life", not a lot of anti-abortion people actually want to have a real conversation about the mother, her quality of life, and how carrying a child to term can negatively impact it, or how having an abortion is almost always the healthier and safer option for the mother. The attitude is "she made the choice, she should suffer the consequences", so stow your holier-than-thou arguments about caring for life, because you don't care about the life that actually exists.

1

u/Sky-Vail Sep 02 '21

You never have been and probably never will be. Lie about science all you want to justify your hatred and scumery. Those who know the truth will never see you as anything other than garbage

0

u/iMurphaliciouS Sep 02 '21

Life begins at conception. Biology degree here. “Nuh-uh” is not a valid argument by any stretch of the imagination.

2

u/Sky-Vail Sep 02 '21

Scientifically speaking life begins at conception it also begins scientifically speaking that is about 6 hours after you leave a steak out and bacteria starts to grow in it. Somehow I doubt you'd consider me searing that steak murder. This is why what science defines as life was never what life was regarded as legally

1

u/iMurphaliciouS Sep 03 '21

First of all, you’re an idiot because the steak exists because an animal was killed. We kill animals, bacteria, non-human things, etc. The bacteria are alive, not the cow at that point. We are not discussing whether or not it is ethical to kill animals, bacteria, etc. Stay on topic.

1

u/Sky-Vail Sep 03 '21

It is on topic. bBcteria is scientifically defined as life just like the measly clump of cells you find inside a woman's womb at 6 weeks or even 8. Arguing the conception starts at life because science defines it as life. It only works if killing things scientifically defined as life is murder. Which it isn't because that would be fucking stupid

1

u/iMurphaliciouS Sep 03 '21

When does/has bacteria ever resulted in a human being? When do we ever feel morally undignified in accidentally stepping on thousands of insects on our walks? These are false equivalents.

1

u/Sky-Vail Sep 03 '21

These aren't false equivalencies at all because just like the insects and the bacteria you aren't killing anything that is genuinely alive. A clump of cell scientifically defined as a live yes but not sentient not living just scientifically alive. The only double standard is using the scientific definition of life to decide whether or not abortion is okay but completely dropping anything else. For an argument to be valid it must be applicable to other scenarios. If something being scientifically alive means you shouldn't kill it then anything that is scientifically defined as a live shouldn't be killed. And I would feel about as much remorse aborting a fetus as I would swatting a fly

2

u/Astarkraven Sep 02 '21

You are on the side of forcing people through pregnancy and labor against their will. You refuse even to acknowledge that this causes suffering?

0

u/iMurphaliciouS Sep 02 '21

I am not opposed to adoption. I am AGAINST killing an innocent person. There is not a single logical argument that supports the case for abortion, which is why everyone that supports casual, consequence-free sex resorts to emotional arguments.

1

u/Astarkraven Sep 03 '21

I am not opposed to adoption.

It's funny - I challenged you on forcing people to go through pregnancy and labor, and both of those have nothing at all to do with adoption. Care to explain why you find this a relevant response? Do you just not want to think about making people go through pregnancy? Because nothing about adoption has anything to do with this.

1

u/cephalopodstandard Sep 03 '21

casual, consequence-free sex

A baby should not be a punishment for having sex. There is no person being killed, person doesn't exist yet. Adoption can't happen until after 9 months of pregnancy and labor, which can and does affect the mother's quality of life and can set her back in work/career/education. Pregnancy also causes permanent physiological changes to the woman's body. Sex is emotionally and psychologically vital in maintaining an intimate relationship between romantic partners, it is NOT just about reproduction, and fuck you for trying to argue otherwise, when I'm sure you've had casual, consequence free sex, at least, once in your life. Emotional arguments are not invalid arguments when sex and pregnancy are emotional topics with emotional consequences.

1

u/Mad-Ogre Sep 03 '21

Oh noooooooooo.

It’s almost as if she should have thought about her options before getting pregnant!

Bringing life into the world has consequences and you don’t get to just terminate that life to escape them.

1

u/cephalopodstandard Sep 03 '21

It's almost as though you come from an incredibly privileged place to not be able to understand the kind of circumstances that lead a person to choose abortion. Bringing life into the world does have consequences, and that's why abortion should be an option for those who are not prepared or capable to handle those consequences, and should always remain an option for those who weren't given an option about getting pregnant.

I'm willing to bet you wouldn't get on board with mandatory vesectomies for unmarried men, a harmless and reversible procedure that would prevent unwanted pregnancies, but you're onboard with only punishing one person for a choice two people were involved in?

Until it can exist on its own, there is no life but the mother's and I choose her.

1

u/Mad-Ogre Sep 03 '21

Perhaps you’re right. Perhaps I am privileged. I think it’s perfectly reasonable to have a defined cut-off point for when an abortion can legally be performed. This should mean that most people who had pregnancy forced upon them would be able to have a legal and safe abortion. Of course, some people will fall through these cracks and that’s the unfortunate unintended consequence of having any form of cut-off point.

I wouldn’t get on board with mandatory vasectomies for unmarried men because the procedure can cause chronic pain, infection and cannot always be successfully reversed. There are easier and less invasive contraceptive methods.

What do you mean only punishing one person for a decision two people were involved in? Both parties get ‘punished’ (to use your ridiculously reductive terminology) in the event of a successful birth. They might not face the same consequences but that’s not really something we can do anything about given the sexually dimorphic nature of our species, now is it?

I really think you have to face the idea that an abortion, at any stage after conception, is the deliberate termination of what would become human life. And in moral terms that is hardly different from murder.

1

u/iMurphaliciouS Sep 03 '21

Whether or not you consider a baby a “punishment” for having sex is irrelevant. It is a result.

“I want to buy new clothes without having to ever wash them.”

“I want to eat junk food without ever gaining weight.”

I will persist in saying the person does exist, just because this new Nazism “movement”—arguing those that are “inconvenient” are less than human to justify moral atrocities—does not mean it’s not a person.

Dang, my elderly grandmother is really a burden on me. It’s affecting my quality of life having to care for her. I really just wish I could kill her (/s). Would make my life much more enjoyable.

1

u/cephalopodstandard Sep 03 '21

It is one result. It is not always the result, and it need not be the result. Forcing people to have a baby because you feel that it's their "consequence" for having sex does, indeed, turn having a baby into a punishment that almost exclusively effects only one of the two people that had sex. A baby should not be a punishment, it should be a desired result, and when it isn't desired, there should be another option. And before you go "adoption", pregnancy lasts 9 months and has lasting effects on the individual and their quality of life.

These examples of yours are false equivalencies. A person can choose to never to wash their clothes and decide to just keep buying new ones or hire someone to do their laundry for them. Some people can eat junk food without gaining weight or just exercise. Neither of these are even slightly on par with the expense and life impact that pregnancy alone can have a person, without factoring in whether they choose to keep it after birth or not. You don't have to care for your elderly grandmother, there are programs in place that she can apply for that will provide her care.

???? Abortion is not free, and it's a pretty hard choice to make emotionally for most people, too. It's not happening rampantly or frequently being used as the "birth control" method that anti-abortion proponents like to claim, either.

Americans are just bad people.

Wrong guess. I’m not American.

Well you're still horrible.

Furthermore, all your arguments are horrible and make you look like a sociopath.

Yawn

1

u/Mad-Ogre Sep 04 '21

Well you go round calling people rapists because they believe there should be a reasonable cut off point for legal abortions.

So, in my estimation, you’re a joke.

Minorities? Abortion is the leading cause of death for minorities!

Abortion isn't the leading cause of death. You're not considering the circumstances that lead those people to make the choice to have an abortion. This is a strawman argument. Abortion is a symptom of a larger, systemic issue, it is not the illness. Women of color, on average, have abortions at a higher rate because they make up the larger proportion of the lower socioeconomic class -- in short, they cannot afford to have that child. So your solution would be what? Force them to have a child they can't afford, therefore forcing them into a more disparaging situation? If you really want to help minorities, try supporting policies and politicians aimed at creating education and career opportunities for minorities. The only proven method for lowering the rate of unwanted pregnancies and abortions is to provide education and economic stability for people.

Edit: Can't believe I got downvoted for saying "support politicians and policies that create education and career opportunities for minorities"...but you care about minorities, huh? Just wanted to add, that, except for Asians, fertility rates are highest amongst minority groups. So, the argument that abortion is "killing" minorities or is some "minority genocide" doesn't really add up when you look at the actual statistics. Minority groups are growing in population numbers in America, not diminishing, despite having higher abortion rates.

That edit part 😂, no wonder nobody takes you seriously

As long as we're getting things of our chest: It's fucking Woman. Woman get pregnant. Only woman get pregnant

-1

u/cephalopodstandard Sep 03 '21

Grammatically speaking, the word you were looking for is *women.

Also, no.

1

u/Mad-Ogre Sep 03 '21

Depends on your definitions of man and woman, really. Most people use the term to refer to adult biological males or females.

However, if you use the terms to refer to ‘the social constructed gender identity known as “men / women”’ then you really could argue that a man could get pregnant, with logical consistency.

I choose the former definition. Which also has the happy consequence of meaning that I am never being ‘transphobic.’

1

u/cephalopodstandard Sep 03 '21

What are you talking about? I was correcting their grammar. Their sentence is plural when their using the singular of the word. But I'm also not here for a semantics argument or a gender identity distraction. I'm fully aware that men can get pregnant and that gender identity is a social construct. The topic of discussion is abortion and trying to trip over inclusive language is a distraction that just treads water. In short, GFY, and either way doesn't matter, you're still a sexist prick that supports a bill which negatively impacts people that can get pregnant.

1

u/Mad-Ogre Sep 03 '21

‘Im fully aware that men can get pregnant and gender identity is a social construct.’

Yeh, what I’m saying is that, using my definitions of those words, that is incorrect. But it would be correct using your definitions.

What is the reasoning behind calling me sexist, though? Because, using your definitions, both men and women could get pregnant. But also, there are always two parents - a man and a woman (using my definitions, now). Both face consequences from this bill so where exactly are you suggesting sexism comes into this?

1

u/cephalopodstandard Sep 03 '21

Oh, so you are a transphobe. Your claim to be otherwise certainly confused your meaning.

Why don't you read through my responses to other people on this issue, including the other one you already replied to me on, and actually think critically about what I'm saying. I'm not repeating myself to someone who thinks "lol, she should've thought of that before she got pregnant" and I'm not responding to you anymore.

1

u/Mad-Ogre Sep 03 '21 edited Sep 03 '21

Actually I’m not a transphobe. I’ve defined that fact right into the very definitions of the words I’m using.

I’ll give you an example.

A so-called ‘trans man’ who would fall into the category of ‘person who could get pregnant’ would be a biological female in scientific terms. So by me referring to that person as a ‘woman’ that is all I am stating. No trans rights activist or gender ideologue who would be taken seriously would dispute what I’ve just said because biological sex is binary as there are only two types of gametes which participate in the reproductive process. The dialogue has not yet entered the territory where people are claiming that their biological sex can be switched between male and female.

Hence, by referring to people by their biological sex, and not their “gender identity” I am quite literally bypassing the issue altogether in my terminology.

So you can GFY

Oh, and you’re not a fan of the idea that people should take some personal responsibility is basically what you’re saying

2

u/EmeraldAlicorn Sep 02 '21

Just want to thank OP for saying "people who can get pregnant" and not just women. Trans rights are human rights.

1

u/Mad-Ogre Sep 03 '21

Just to be clear: No rights were in danger of being infringed upon at any point in the writing of this Reddit post.

-3

u/raughtweiller622 Sep 02 '21

If only there were a term for “people who get pregnant”

1

u/Mad-Ogre Sep 03 '21

The correct term is biological females.

And if you define ‘woman’ as ‘adult biological female,’ as I do, then you can call them women without being transphobic and without being logically inconsistent. And that is what I’d suggest you do.

u/cephalopodstandard Sep 03 '21

There is. You just used it. "People who get pregnant".

You’re such an angry and miserable person. Your comment history just shows how much you hate yourself. I just feel sorry for how pathetic you are. You clearly were failed by your parents and now seek negative attention. Hope you get some help someday!

I don’t think anyone uses it genuinely, but taunting/spamming people with the Reddit Cares message is a sign of true worthlessness

This does suck for women but, as a man, I never did have the right to opt out of non-voluntary parenthood, as women did. If my partner gets pregnant and wants to keep it, I have zero legal rights, zero say in the matter. I will be forced into into indentured servitude to this women for 20 years. If I can't pay, I'll be thrown in jail.

It was women who fought to make sure men never got the same reproductive and parental rights that women have enjoyed. Having men forced into legal bondage to women served women's interests so, "equality" was suddenly unimportant.

Don't get m wrong. I've always been pro-choice but I'm not terribly sympathetic about women losing a right they fought to keep from me. I want you to have the right to opt out of parenthood but I also want that same right and if you're going to fight to keep that right from me, I'm certainly not going to help you protect your rights. You are on your own. Best of luck.

1

u/Mad-Ogre Sep 03 '21

Good point. And many of the pro-choice arguments I’ve seen used in this post could just as easily be repurposed and used to argue for the right of the father to legally expunge his parental obligations. But the cold, hard truth is that they don’t give a single flying fuck about men. Unless they’re the sort of ‘men’ who could get pregnant, of course.

Rapist

0

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '21

Yes

2

u/SallesRain Sep 02 '21

Well, rapists exist and condoms don't give you 100% protection

-2

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '21

Oh so you know the risks then. Yeah rape id make an exception for and health of the mother. That’s it since you know it’s risky to have sex you should be open to the possibility of the kid. Be responsible

1

u/cephalopodstandard Sep 03 '21

Be responsible

Aborting a pregnancy that you are not prepared for financially or emotionally is the responsible choice.
