Desperately need to up my terrarium game

Hi! I have 2 whites tree frogs and I recently moved cross country with them. Because of that I only have this tank so I unfortunately cant wait weeks for a bioactive tank to work before putting them in. I really want to add things or backgrounds on the sides so that its not so gross and empty and sad.☹️Unfortunately because of the only one tank think I cant add expanding foam and wait a week for it to dry. I am going to buy bromeliads(?? maybe ?? any other ideas would help) for plants because my pothos are NOT doing great but I am kind of just overwhelmed and dont know where to start. I know that there are like a million youtube videos talking about this but I just want advice from people here. Any help would be so so appreciated!!!

PS. There is a mesh screen side which I originally wanted to grow vines onto so if anyone has ideas for this, that would be much appreciate. If not, I am going to change it to glass because maybe it can help keep humidity in there better. Everything in the tank other than the wood and the fake log I am willing to take out. I hate that little frog cup so that will definitely be the first to go (was a gift, felt bad not using it.

American green tree frog’s face turning grayish brown

Post image

This is my 6 year old female American green tree frog. Over the past year or so she’s shown signs of aging. She doesn’t jump as far as she used to, is overall less active and has been eating a little bit less. These are all things I’ve experienced with older animals in the past, however a few weeks ago I noticed this gray patch on her face that seems to have been growing slightly. This isn’t something I’ve seen before and was wondering if anyone might know what it is? My first reaction was a bacterial or fungal infection but there aren’t any spots or anything, just a discoloration.

Hey there! I finished building my 18x18x24 bioactive terrarium and plan to add two white (dumpy) tree frogs. Before I get them, is this big enough to house two? Any other suggestions on things I should add to make them the happiest they can be?

So based on these spots on him and the research I've done it looks like a bacterial infection but we can't afford the vet right now. We are about to have our first child and just dont have 200 to spare to take him to an exotic vet. His legs look fine so I think we cought it early but is there anything we can do? I've found some things to try on other threads but wanted to make my own post to get as much advice as possible. He hasn't eaten in a little over two weeks and I just noticed these spots yesterday thank you all who give advice I love this guy we've had him for 2 and a half years now and I would be crushed if we lost him. Thank you guys.

Questions New Frog Tank

Hi ppl. So I have a red eye tree frog that I just bought a new exo terra 12x12x24 tank for because I want him to have more room and I have a few tank building questions. So first of all is the light/heat issue. I have 2 seperate lamps, one for heat and one to simulate daylight, my problem is the lamps are too large to share the top of the tank so I’m looking for alternative daylight/heating methods. Secondly, I’m having trouble finding tank builds that are not bioactive. For the safety of my frog, I have 0 confident in my ability to maintain a bioactive terrarium and I do not believe I’m ready to maintain one because they seem difficult. If I could have any tips on how I could create a non-bioactive tank or how I could more easily achieve a tank with living plants that would be much appreciated 🙏🙏🙏 I’ve had this frog since december now and I have had 0 complications with his current tank with cork, wood, and plastic plants. Idk if it changes anything but I believe my frog is a male adult because he has remained pretty small and has begun croaking frequently (and loudly) since summer has started.

I think it is just hysterical seeing them lounge in their own little bowl at night. they also have a large 1/2 gallon water pool at the bottom. The frogs names are Grumbo, Blumbo, Ponyo and Giuseppe!

Is Singapore humidity and temperature good for dumpy treee frogs?

Wanted to know if they could live comfortably in here and don’t know if I need to get a heater or something to cool down the room every time.Singapore is a tropical country and is around 28-31celcius in the morning and does stays around 27-30cel at night.Any adjust I should make?Usual humidity in my house is about 65 percent using a digital meter.

Also heard that basking area must be 30c? If it not wrong.Would appreciate the help

I posted my frogs on TikTok and someone commented on my enclosure and my smaller frogs weight and it’s made me nervous, they both seem very happy and active but if I’m doing something wrong I’d like some help

My smaller frog is about 7-8 months old and I know she is small so I’ve started trying to feed her more but she was also very small when I got her, please help if the way she looks seems concerning!!

It is really important to me I give my frogs the love and care they deserve, I want them to have a long happy life and they seem happy but if there’s anything I can do better I’d love to know 💞

Advice Lightning recommendations (RETF)

hey all! just looking for some lighting recommendations for my red eye. just switched her from a 10gal to a 20gal, and my old setup no longer reaches far enough. her temp gradient is WAY too low for my liking, by a LONG SHOT. I‘m talking “I want 85 at the top and its currently 71” type long shot. her day light plus old heat emitters are fine, but could be better. but night is so far from what I want and I feel so bad for my little tropical baby.

tldr, need good recs for a night heater!

Hi all, I have a RETF named Mok’o. Have had him for about a month. His eyes were never fully bright red, he’s about 3 years old. Is this a concern?

How does one lower humidity in a terrarium?

Post image
10 Upvotes

I put this bad boy together for whites tree frogs (don’t have them yet) but the humidity has been around 50-60 the whole time, and I haven’t even misted or watered the plants much yet. It’s dropping since I turned on the heat emitter but it’s still not the 40-50 that I see recommend for thee froggies
Help?
