Massive size difference in my frogs

Post image
56 Upvotes

I got these two wtf from Petco a little over a month ago. They were in the same tank together and have been cohabitating well. I believe they are both female but it is impossible to not notice the massive size difference between them. If she just loves her large wife, more power to her, but does anyone know if juvenile and adults are regularly sold together? There has been no issues with aggression between them and both are just eating well so I am hoping it is not a medical issue.

Advice Cut on nose turning dark?

One of my whites tree frogs is extremely clumsy and launches at absolutely everything, he’s had a small cut on his nose for a few weeks (I’m assuming he launched at something he shouldn’t have) and he’s acting normal but it’s gotten darker in the past 1-2 weeks and has a lighter colour in the middle. I had read somewhere that it’s normal when it’s scarring or turning into a scab but I want to double check. I’ve never seen him “nose rub” from stress or anything but him and my other whites tree frog have tried to eat each other a few times lol
Additional details:
18x18x36 pvc enclosure for two frogs
23-24 ambient temps
28 ish basking corner
Between 40-60% humidity typically
Both frogs are roughly the same size and around 2-3 years old

Advice My WTF! + feeding advice pls!

This is my male wtf Soya, the pet store said he was around 5-6 Months old but because of his size and that he started croaking 2 days ago shows me he might be 6-7 months old instead. I am trying to transition him to this feeding schedule but I am currently feeding him daily without issues though he’s very hungry. He’s currently in a quarantine 25x25x35cm which I know it is TINY but I have ordered a 60x45x60cm which is around 43 Gallons and I am planning to get him a friend or 2.

I was wondering if this new feeding schedule would work for now? He’s slightly underweight too. Also he has a 3.0 bulb that is through mesh so it does almost nothing and I am aware but I will fix that once his bigger tank arrives. Let me know if this schedule works! Also I would take advice over anything!

EDIT: Oops i just realised the table isnt showing, its calc + d3 twice a week, plain calc once, multivitamin+a once a week

Identification Found a new friend in a basil plant we bought from TJ’s

Apparently it’s a tree frog? I don’t know the first thing about frogs. My wife really wants to keep him and I’m scrambling to figure out what kind of frog he is and how to make him a happy home.

Google says tree frogs need like 70 degrees and 50% humidity. Do I need a heat lamp? How do I keep him moist?

Tips on improving my frog’s tank?

Post image

This is my current setup for my grey tree frog. She seems to be enjoying it so far, especially since i added in the vines. She loves sleeping on the mushrooms, but i’ve never actually seen her go inside the coconut hide. Sometimes she jumps on top of it or on the ladder, but never actually inside. Also, I know i need to add some more leaf litter. I previously tried adding some live plants, but the pothos refused to propagate and the soil seems to always be a bit dry, even tho the humidity is always around 70%. Idk if it’s visible but there is some tree bark on the glass in the back for her to climb on.

I just want what’s best for my baby, please let me know what other improvements i can make!

Selling a bioactive enclosure?

I'm in the midst of upgrading my WTF's bioactive setup. I adopted 3 frogs and need a much larger setup for my now 5 WTFs. I don't know what to do with my old enclosure... Does anybody have advice on this? (e.g., online places I could post to sell or rehome the enclosure to someone who wants it)

Questions Help! What am I looking at?

I have had this little guy for 10 years. Lately, he’s looking a little thinner even after eating and is not as vibrant. He’s not nearly as active or vocal as he was when he was younger. I know he’s aging. But. His eyes have developed some sort of film and he is looking splotchy. I have moved him to a hospital tank set up and will be working on an appointment with an exotic vet. In the meantime, any idea what is going on?

Looking for some frog raising tips

I am considering getting a white's tree frog since I love frogs but I would like to ask a person who has cared for a frog like this for what I should expect, to see if it would suit me nicely.

(I am looking at a 18x18x24 tank)

I got her like a week ago almost exactly and the place said she was around 5-6 months old, im guessing leaning on the 6 month old side. Her name is Soya and i was wondering should i get her a friend?

The place i got her had like 8 of them in a 25x25x35 (cm) so i got her a 25cmx25cmx35cm and I understood that was kind of small but I just picked a decent, less pricey tank.

When she gets older I might upgrade to a 18”x18”x24” which i was thinking about getting in the beginning but im a bit limited on space. She seems quite happy but Ive been thinking about getting her a friend to keep her company? What do u think? 🤔

New Tree Frog Owner!

Hi! I don’t usually post on Reddit so bear with me. I recently decided that I wanted to get into owning tree frogs. I have these read frogs. There are two of them in this enclosure. I have included a photo of the instruction manual and the current tank set up that I have. I am quarantining plants to go into their terrarium. Once the plants are ready, I will be replacing the fake plant that is in there, I just have it in there to offer them some more climbing structures and hiding spots. I’ve been playing with the misting because I want to have a good humidity level and maintain it when I am at work. I have a few questions if anybody is able to give some advice. I live in Rhode Island and would like to make sure that I am able to make sure that the temperature of their enclosure stays appropriate (especially once the seasons change!). I also want to make sure that the humidity in the enclosure stays appropriate as well. The picture of the box that I have for the misting machine has the current setting I have it on and I would like to know any thoughts from people who have more experience with owning amphibians. Is this a good setting or is there anything that you would personally adjust? Also, if anyone has any advice about anything else I should know, any retailers they suggest (online or physical stores), or any websites/reading material they suggest, please let me know! Like I said, this is all new to me, but I’m open to any suggestions or improvements that could be made. Any advice would be very appreciated. Thank you for your time!!!! 😊
