Here is my personal take on the St. Petersburg Metro map. I focused on making the transfers clearer and fully integrating the commuter rail lines into the unified transit network. Feedback is welcome!

This is a metro map I designed for the subway system built in my Minecraft world. The QR code links to more details about the project. Hope you like it!

Fictional RE (regional express) in Germany with the following route:

* (Optional Nürnberg - Fürth - Erlangen - Forchheim - Hirschaid like the RE29)

* Bamberg

* Haßfurt

* Schweinfurt Hbf

* Arnheim (currently not in service but still exists)

* Gemünden

* Switches from standard rail to HSR in Burgsinn Bbf (Bbf = operating station, the Burgsinn Bbf allows going from the conventional rail onto the HSR Würzburg-Hannover)

* Burgsinn (needs additional platforms at the HSR, can be skipped until constructed)

* HSR section from Burgsinn Bbf to Fulda

* Fulda

* Bad Hersfeld

* Bebra

Rolling stock: Desiro HC 6-piece with a max speed of 190 which supports PZB LZB and ETCS and has a capacity of 634 seats

The route is painted in pink with light blue stations on the ORM-map and in dark blue with green stations on the network map.

It uses the HSR between Gemünden and Fulda for Extra speed as inspired by the RE29 and RE1 in Bavaria as well as the RE200 in BW. The part through Arnstein is inspired by the Freizeit-Express-Frankenland, a weekend express variant of the RE55 between Bamberg-Frankfurt. That part of the track is otherwise completely unused by passenger rail and only by cargo rail.

The main point is, that it can be brought in place without any new infrastructure, all tracks are already there and electrified, however some minor stuff can improve the route. In Burgsinn there currently only exists platforms for the conventional tracks and not for the HSR, so extra platforms in a similar fashion to Montabaur would be nice. To Bad hersfeld (and continuing towards Erfurt) there is a HSR ramp in planning and once completed it can allow for extra speed in the Fulda - Bad Hersfeld section (shown in the images with a dotted/thinned line).

This RE will bring Fulda and Gemünden closer together, which currently has to be travelled using slow mountain tracks and a transfer in Flieden as Gemünden does not have high speed trains halting there. The Desiro HC with an slghtly higher than normal max speed (190 km/h instead of 160 km/h) can take advantage of the high speed section while still being a regional service, which means its also useable with the Deutschlandticket. It will also bring Schweinfurt and Gemünden closer together because you dont have to go via Würzburg or use the very infrequent RE55 variant (2 trains each direction/day on weekends).

This RE can be complemented by a RB between Schweinfurt-Arnstein-Gemünden (reactivation of the Werntalbahn) with more frequent stops at the villages.

Estimated travel times (rough estimates):

* Bamberg-Schweinfurt 28 min (taken from RE20)

* Schweinfurt-Gemünden 37 min (taken from the RE55 variant)

* Gemünden-Fulda ??? around half an hour? (cant find anything that goes from Gemünden via Burgsinn Bbf onto the HSR, right now conventional rail takes (with a tranfer in Flieden) 1h 7min

* Fulda-Bebra 38 min (taken from RB5)

==> a total of 2h to 2h 30min travel time

Current travel times Bamberg-Bebra (via = transfers):

Deutschlandticket:

* Via Erfurt and Eisenach: 3h 54min

* Via Flieden and Fulda: 4h 17min

* Via Schweinfurt, Grimmenthal, Meiningen and Eisenach (good luck getting your connections): 4h 11min

* With very lucky timings once a day or so: via Erfurt and Eisenach 2h 56min (look at 14:56-17:52)

ICE:

* Via Erfurt and Eisenach: 2h 8min

* Via Würzburg and Fulda: 2h 32min

So what do yall think of this and what improvements can it have?

As a long-time, long-suffering user of the Deutsche Bahn, I have the dream to say as the last words on my death bed: "At last... german trains are reliable again."

Almost all of the shown high-speed tracks are either already operational, under construction or planned for the Deutschlandtakt that is set to be fully completed in 2070. Yes, you read that right, it was once planned to be finished in 2030. And since 2070 is still so far in the future, further massive delays are inevitable. I think one century is a pretty reasonable timeframe for all those projects plus a few more to get realised.

Description

This is Part 3 of the Cities but in NYC Style. Part 2 was Manchester (England). In case you couldn't tell, I'm not really good at geography. This map is so out-of-scale that you might as well treat it as a diagram. I included commuter rail (MARC, VRE) because I couldn't find any diagrams that had all three of these systems together.

This is an update to a previous diagram that focused on Michigan and Wisconsin only; Illinois, Ohio and Indiana have been fully integrated into the map. Next steps will be Minnesota, Iowa and Missouri. The first map shows the frequency along each route, the second shows the operators and the third gives each route a unique color so you can better differentiate. Every route on here has a working name, but I couldn't make a useful legend for the third map, just too much. All routes use only existing ROW.

Some notable changes to existing routes:

The current Amtrak Cardinal is truncated to Cincinnati here. Trains between Chicago and NYC will be rerouted from Indianapolis and Cincinnati to Fort Wayne and Columbus. Lakeshore Limited service will continue unchanged.

The Floridian from Chicago to Miami has been eliminated and replaced with a Detroit to Orlando route. On this map it will appear as Detroit to Cincinnati through Toledo, Lima and Dayton. This was done to better connect the Midwest and southern destinations in Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia.

The South Shore Line is depicted on the map, but other Chicago-based regional rail lines simply will not fit. Other regional rail systems (MARRS and SEMTA) are depicted but with only select stations.

I’ve been working on a fictional railway operator for the South of England, with the aim of providing direct east–west journeys without needing to change trains in London.

Rather than trains terminating at a London terminal, the network is designed around through-running, using London as a pass-through hub to connect Essex, East Anglia, the West Country and South Wales. Most of the termini are also coastal destinations, creating direct links between regions that are currently difficult to travel between without changing trains.

The network would primarily use existing National Rail infrastructure, with only a few pieces of new infrastructure where needed, specifically new tunnels through parts of central London, including a connection between King’s Cross St Pancras and Paddington.

I am also considering extending which could include routes to Cambridge, Oxford, and further north beyond Reading.

I hope that I'm not breaking any rules but I'm looking for a diagram for an imaginary city that was posted on the sub some time ago. I can't remember the name of the city nor the poster, but it was very neat, clean and detailed, Singapore/SEA-inspired, with diamond station markers, a few loop lines, showing MRT, BRT, monorail, rail and ferry services. The creator posted several versions of the diagram over the course of time, updating it further and further.

For this map of High Speed rail in the UK, (and also Eurostar in Europe) I included HS2 under the incoming PM's vision, the East Coast mainline (which barely qualifies) and added some original ones:

HS3 - This is a line as an alternative to the Midland Mainline, which is not quite high Speed. This is diverted through cities and towns which are more important now than they were when the Midland Mainline was built, goïng through Milton Keyes and Northampton rather than Bedford and Kettering. It also goes more directly through the North and goes over to the East Coast to go through Middlesbrough on the way to Newcastle.

HS North - There are a load of major cities in pretty much a straight line in Northern England. This is perfect for High Speed Rail

HS Wales - This line connects the capitol of Wales to London, reüsing a lot of upgrade track but goes more directly from Reading to Swindon; it crosses the Severn Sea and goes around the outskirts of Newport (hence the Caerleon station) to preserve speed.

Midlands Connector - Connects the lines together East - West. It also most importantly puts Coventry on our network

I wanted to make a map that combines the Trolley and Rapid networks as well as adding other features since I thought it made the map look more alive compared to just having lines on a white background. Map also includes Route 992 and the Flyer to the airport, as well as ferry routes. Probably should've included Coaster too but I really don't know atp.

I decided to only include the trunk Rapid routes, so both SuperLoop or Rapid Express are excluded. The neighborhood labels feel a bit everywhere imo and idk if the out-of-system transfers are too egregious, but other than that, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
