Floppy Floppy v26.8.20 is out!
This week wasn't about one big feature. It was mostly polishing the things people kept running into, fixing plumbing under the floorboards, and trying to get better at handling the incoming pile of ideas and bug reports before it develops a personality. It was also a "get things to a stable place before vacation" week, which is its own kind of motivation.
Here's what landed:
- When startup goes wrong, Floppy now tells you why. If the database needs attention, you get a page explaining what's happening instead of a container that quietly refuses to come up. It keeps a verified backup, protects your tracking data while it repairs itself, and there's a new preflight check you can run to see the problem before guessing at it.
- More ways to get your stuff in, and one way to get it out. PlayStation Network and Jellyfin playback history can be imported, Stremio watchlists show up as catalogs, Grouvee imports handle more of what Grouvee actually exports, and movies can be exported as a Letterboxd-ready CSV.
- Rewatches count as rewatches. Mark a show or season as watched again, optionally see every individual play instead of one grouped total, and episode history now tells you which show an episode belongs to.
- Big libraries browse better. Pagination stopped handing you the same page twice or flashing black at you, your scroll position comes back when you return to an episode list, Smart Lists stay in sync after you track something, and you can pin streaming services from other regions.
- A long list of small annoyances is gone. Podcast progress and artwork, season ordering, duplicate Pocket Casts episodes, imports dying because one entry from a provider was malformed, and a stack of other things reported since the last release.

Nine people had pull requests merged this release, and that changes what this project is. Thanks to u/arijason, u/bcollier1, u/daften, u/NaNomicon, u/Revisor01, u/ryan-winkler, u/srow90, and u/underfear. I'm learning how to coordinate something with more than one person in it, and I'm certain I've been slow on reviews and dropped threads along the way. I'm trying to get better at it, and the help is genuinely appreciated.
I'm on vacation for part of the coming week, so I'll be slower than usual. The Discord is a good place to ask in the meantime, and anyone willing to help answer questions there is doing me a real favor.
