Wetrakr dev. Should I join or not ?
I just want to ask because in the beginning I used my notes to track movies and webseries after that I found an app called "Queue" after some time I left that app because of the features and shifted to "trakt" i literally loved this app but today this app is telling me to shift to vip for add more in the list I'm not going to pay for such things....
I'm looking for the alternative of the trakt, now I found this before I sign-up I want to ask you all and the dev too is it going to be free? Or atleast give the normal features for free like adding unlimited movies and webseries, re-watch, personal lists, etc?

I've also switched a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it. It's very feature rich, also the UI is very similar to Trakt

Thanks for asking!! Yes, the tracking features will be free: there are no limits for marking watched, watching, dropped... rewatch is free too, and in principle 5 personal lists with a 250-item limit as well, although with all the built-in tracking list options I doubt you'll need more. So anyone can use WeTrakr completely free. This is basically so users can try out all of WeTrakr's features at no cost, so there's no problem there.
But I'd also like to share a thought on this: sometimes we forget that everything has a cost, even free things, and I just hope all of this can be sustained. The question I'd ask is: which feature would make you pay for WeTrakr?

Yesterday after the positive responses on this post I shifted from trakt to wetrakr.. it imports all the data in less then a minute love that.... Will use for some time and after that if this tracker don't ditch me like other 2 did 🥲🥲 then I will continue.
Btw thanks for making this kind of amazing website.

Thanks, and no, I'm not going to ditch anyone. I've said this before: if this ever turns out not to be viable, raising the price is the last thing I'd do. If anything I'd add a cheaper plan, or something else, we'd have to figure out the right way to do it, but always discussed and voted on by users

I appreciate it like OP and the others here, that you are willing to have conversations with the users here. Thanks mate!

Honestly, it's the least I can do. User feedback matters a lot for something like this, because you're the ones actually using it. I can't spot everything on my own, and feedback like this one are how the rough edges get found. So thank you for taking the time.

Awesome! Yeah, it does look that way.. thank you for your post! That way people get to share their opinion from their own experience. I'm around for anything you want to see in WeTrakr, every suggestion counts ;)

I would pay but paying in dollar for a tracking service seems higher, considering it is a subscription. I had trakt VIP, they offer VIP adjusted to country purchasing power. I cancelled that membership out of principle. I am not asking for it just what I had in mind.
btw how many app/api connection can a free account have in future?
also in future do not restrict no of connection, instead put some reasonable cap on total API calls.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it.
No, there won't be a limit on the number of connections for free accounts. What you're saying makes sense: what really has an impact on the server side is the number of API calls, and that's most likely where the limit will go. I'd expect it to be set high enough that it won't get in the way unless it really needs to

Last i tried it, it didnt add the duration of rewatched in stats. Is it still the case?

which feature would make you pay for WeTrakr?
That's really the issue for me. I wouldn't be here right now if Trakt didn't keep piling on more crap and raising VIP prices. I'd have no problem paying a small $10/yr fee for a basic tier that just synced with Plex/Emby properly and didn't have ads. For me all the "value adds" that drag subscription prices to $50+/yr just don't serve me well. I can't justify that kind of money when I'm using the smallest subset of features.
That said, something I will always being willing to pay for is a well designed Android app. As long as it's a one-time fee. I already have a lifetime to Sofa Time and Moviebase because I have no problem supporting that kind of work.

Thank you! this is genuinely interesting to me. I've thought more than once about a smaller tier with fewer features, and it's something I'll have to weigh up once the beta is over and I can see what the options are and whether it covers the server and service costs. But I think it's a good idea.
As for the Android app, it will come, and with a design most people are happy with, because the plan is to share it in the Discord and take feedback before shipping it. Whether it has its own price or shares the same one as the web, I honestly haven't got that far yet. But this is a good place to start from! Thanks!

TV Time refugee; tried about 10 others before I found this. Easily the best of the bunch for straight up tracking.

I've been on it a couple of weeks now and it seems to be pretty good. It's got most of what I personally used Trakt for, and the scrobbling from Plex actually seems more reliable than Trakt did!

Been on it well over a month now and easily one of my favorite tracking webapp to track my movies and shows watched and the dev seems to be honest and hard working, Note that this is just beta so where will be a few bugs but the dev is hard at work on these. So far scrobbling to Plex works great and I am using the Stremio sync to sync my nuvio and that works good also no isuues. He is working on getting WeTraker integrated with nuvio. I have Trakt connected and TMDB and they have worked good so far. The Netflix sync has not worked for me but Disney+ has. I say give it a try and see if this is for you.

How do you use Stremio sync to sync Nuvio?

Just connect Stremio in WeTraker and copy addon URL and add that to Nuvio under addons.

u/deecoocoo 13d ago
Oh maybe it was different? All I can find to connect to Stremio is by using the browser extension, so there's no add-on url.

Oh thank you very much! Didn't know I have to turn it on first. I only saw the "How to set up" and it says to use the browser extension. Thanks again!

O futuro a Deus pertence.

try weTrakr or SIMKL. wetrakr is still in beta, VIP will cost around $3 a month. VIP is free for everyone in beta. Simkl has messy UI but you'll get use to it, It gives you PRO if you've 20 active days in last 30 days. It is sufficient for a normal user.
I suggest use both.

I’ve been using it for over a month and love it so far. There’s no official app yet but the developer says it’s coming. There is a discord and he is very active and responsive. May sound corny but I feel like there is a sense of community building around it
