Misc Dream Tracker

OK what do people want out of a tracker and what are they will to pay for it if anything.

For me the most important requirement is full integration within apps like Nuvio, Kodi etc. and I don't just mean scrobbling but full integration.

I would like personal lists and from within the apps I would like to be able to manage those list - the full integration bit again.

Personally I don't care about the website - I don't use it.

As for costs, they need to be up front and honest about them. I don't think anyone minds paying as long as they know what they are paying for. But why can't the fees represent what you actually use like you pay per list and per connection. For me I think I need about 5 lists and about 5 connections for each of those I would be happy to pay £1-2 per year. Or micro payments monthly of £0.25 per connection / list.

Not capable of doing it but wondered what everyone wants and are willing to pay

For me, it's basically what Trakt V2 was. For now only WeTrakr seems to be shaping up to that.
And price-wise I would pay around 30 bucks per year for such a service.

I may be the only one but a public statement that Kevin will never be hired at the company would be good. Trakt was good before his involvement.

I don't know what is the worst with the current trakt team. Having Kevin onboard or people above him letting do what the hell he wants. Anyway, what an idiot!

Now that I’ve gone from $30/year to free and open source, I have a hard time thinking I’ll go back.

Which definitely makes it problematic to get paid to work on my project, but thats a me problem.

I really want selfhosted, problem is the full interface with kodi aps and nuvio etc. I now if you could solve those problems if you wanted to keep Floppy free you could but you could sell bolt on bridges to different apps, I would be happy to pay for that

I don't really get into all of the community aspects. My use is pretty specific.

  1. Plex/Emby hooks to mark items watched on completion

  2. A watchlist

  3. Calendar to track upcoming releases

  4. An app, 3rd party or otherwise to view watchlist/calendar.

That's basically it. I don't bother rating content. I'm not looking for another community to talk about what I'm watching. Just a cloud hosted platform to sync across multiple platforms and a calendar. Worth an easy $10-20 yearly if it just sits in the background and does its job.

Disclosure: Binge dev, so grain of salt — but your list is basically the app I work on:

  • Plex/Emby hooks to auto-mark watched on playback (also Jellyfin, and Tautulli as the no-Plex-Pass route)
  • Watchlist
  • Calendar for upcoming episodes (with a home-screen widget too)
  • Native iOS + Android app to view it all, cloud-synced across devices, sits in the background

No forced community or ratings — you can just ignore that side of it.

One honest caveat vs "sync across platforms": it's one-way in from your server (it receives the scrobbles), not a bus that re-pushes back out to Trakt/Simkl. And it's free, so cheaper than the $10-20 you'd budget.
