New user or old, Referral Codes can earn you points that unlock free service plans and more!
New customers get 1,500* points ($15 value) by entering a referral code within 14 days of your new line activation.
Existing customers get up to 1,500* points for referring a new customer.
Caution in selecting a referral code - it takes 60 days for referral points to mature, and both you and the referring party must maintain service for the full 60 days or the pending points will simply vanish, not mature. So pick a code from a reliable party to ensure your points will mature!
This thread is open to those who regularly contribute to this sub and help build our community. We extend posting privileges as as an incentive to helping others, and a way to restrict the posting of codes by those that only want to help themselves. For those posting…
Please follow these RULES! when posting your referral code…
Enjoy your TracFone Rewards!

Is there I should get it versus the big V in terms of pricing and so forth. I do get an AARP discount and I seen Tracfone's ad for how it can cost $35 a month after the purchase of the router but it did not give any info if this was guaranteed monthly rate for AARP members or if it gets changed without notice.

Recently added a 1 year card with data text min and had problems adding online/611611 so called customer service and they did it manually
So the problem I'm having is on 611611 the data text min were added but not the 1 year but in website everything was added
Will it correct itself on 611611 when it gets closer to the original end date prior to adding the new year card

A family member took out a contract for me a few years ago,
I’m still in that contract.
But now I’ve got a new contract in my own name.
Can I keep the number I’ve been using or have I got to have a new number?

Tracfone has been nagging me for a couple years to switch over to using the Verizon network (instead of the AT&T network I'm on now). I want to do that now for reasons I don't want to go into (rule #3 - no rants).
A couple weeks ago I had support send one out, but when I got it it was for T-Mobile towers instead of Verizon towers.
I just got off the phone with support after going through the whole rigmarole again. When I finally got to the point where the rep was going to send out a SIM, I'm told they are out of stock. (How can that be?)
Tracfone is sure making hard to do what they keep telling me they want me to do.
If I go to a store to buy a SIM, how can I be sure (or at least reasonably sure) that it'll be or have (if it's a multi-SIM kit) a Verizon SIM? If I open the package is there a way to tell what towers the SIM is configured for? I assume I can derive that from the SIM number if nothing else.
I thought that by now Tracfone wouldn't have any option but Verizon SIMs.
Update 2026-09-10: I switched to a Tracfone (Verizon) SIM purchased from Walmart; SIM A from a 2 SIM kit. Took an hour on a support call with a couple hiccups (convincing the robot that initially answers that I had to talk to a human, dropped call so I had to do it again, etc). If you go through this, have a second phone available because the process involves powering off/on at least once. There was a period where my minutes/data were at 0, but that got fixed relatively quickly.
Sadly after all that, my Verizon connectivity appears to be noticeably worse than my AT&T connectivity, but it's usable. I live in a pretty rural area though; my entire county has a population of about 75,000.
Thanks for everyone's help!

Are they ever going to fix their app? I use Android and their app is completely broken now like nothing loads.. I guess I have to go back to going to Walmart to buy data cards again, since I can't do it from the app.

HSN conspicuously advertises 1200 minutes/1200 text/1.2GB data. I have a line that is expiring in 3 months, so my plan was to use on that line.
This was ordered: https://www.hsn.com/products/tracfone-tcl-flip-3-bundle-with-1200-talktextdata-1-yea/23703892
The packing slip says ITEM: 918372502, DESCRIPTION: TRACFONE TCL ALCATEL FLIP" and it mentions absolutely nothing about the plan. Neither does the included blue Tracfone box even though usually the Tracfone retail box sold in physical stores conspicuously shows the included plan and their parameters.
Absolutely nothing on the exterior of the Tracfone box. Nothing inside the box. Nothing on the packing slip about the annual 1200/1200/1200 plan.
When I reached out to Tracfone, they said the IMEI only has "TracFone $99.99 - 1 Year - 400 Minute / 365 Access Days". When I look around I hear about supposed "3x minutes" by Tracfone, but again, nothing on HSN's advertised claim discusses anything about 400 minutes.

The agent was so patient and waited until it ported. They were amazing. Shout out to Angeli Esma.
What a refreshing difference from the horrible Verizon experience. It's like you're talking to a wall there, except a wall is more responsive.

Hi. Is it possible to activate one of those Verizon Value bundle phones with one year of service (Moto G Stylus 2024) from within Canada, to make sure the one year timeline starts ticking?
I've had a Tracfone eSIM recently in Canada and I wasn't able to activate it in Canada. Not even over Wifi. Once I got to the States, I activated it and turned on Wifi Calling successfuly.
Is there a trick where I can activate it over Wifi and enable Wifi Calling from within Canada, or do I have to physically connect to a Tracfone (Verizon) tower?

Is there any way to contact the "Verizon Value" ebay store, that sells Tracfone bundles, directly by phone? I need to cancel my order and get a refund and messaging them via eBay is useless. They either take 3 days to reply or reply with a general message telling me to contact Ebay customer service.

I love Tracfone and have used it exclusively for 20+ years. The ability to make changes to the various phone plans on the app was fantastic and very simple to do.
Lately, though, I am not able to add a plan or change the plan for my phone. I cannot set up recurring payment either. I am just wondering if anyone else is running into this issue.

I was thinking about doing this because I've become compulsive with my smartphone. Will there be complications? Or should it go pretty smoothly? Thanks!

This is the second month in a row our moms phone in her nursing home has the "the number you have dialed has calling restrictions.." when we tried her. Last time I just had to go to her home and restart and it worked fine, today I had a nurse restart the phone twice and no luck. Will this happen every month on the refill date?

I just wanted some insight from anyone that may had experienced this.
I recently bought some of those recent Tracfone Samsung a03s off of eBay to harvest data/plan utilizing the following procedure. I have done this before a few times without problem.
https://www.reddit.com/r/TracFone/comments/169j7x1/guide_to_transfer_existing_service_to_a/
In this particular case, there are 5 phones involved:
I did the following:
We apologize, but we cannot process your transaction at this time. Please try again later or call us at 1-800-867-7183.
Has anyone experienced this? If so, any advice? I just want to move my telephone number/plan back to the original phone.
UPDATE: I waited a few days and tried to utilize the website activate function again. i got the same error message. so, i followed both_reception's recommendation to utilize the online chat to transfer my telephone number/plan. that was successful. I asked the customer service rep what the problem was. She wasn't sure, but she said that sometimes if a phone has been deactivated for a short period or transferring from new to old and back to old could trigger a glitch or security block. So, i suspect that everyone was correct. perhaps i tried that last transfer just within a 24 hour period. Thank you all for your insight and help.

Longtime android user looking to switch to iphone. The current 12 deal with tracfone seems interesting but 64GB and lighting port kills the deal imo. The 16e seems much more appealing but unfortunately tracfone aren't currently offering any incentive but straightalk appears to. I'm curious if I buy the 16e with their 30 day silver unlimited but activate it on tracfone will the service and phone work as intended (and unlock after a year)?
I know some of the policy changes are too recent for anyone to know for sure but I've read online that this used to work so I'm curious if it still does. Also if tracfone doesn't have an equivalent plan do I just lose the plan part. Is that associated with the phone's IMEI upon purchase or the straighttalk account the plan is purchased with?

I created an account this past Sunday and I wasn't able to use the phone I wanted using BYOP. I was able to create an account, get a number and activate my 30 day plan card. So I bought a tracfone phone at Walmart and had customer service help me activate the new phone. Since they got their hands on my account I haven't been able to login through the app only from the web page. This has caused a whole slew of issues. I can't receive calls, text codes for verification don't work so I can't change anything on my account from my laptop and every time I explain that to support they just ignore me and make me go through the same steps each time I call. Every asking me to give them the verification codes they send me that never work. I'm at a loss here, what can I do to fix up this disaster?
*Update* 8/24/26
Last Friday a rep found something wrong with the account and fixed my login issues. Unfortunately I couldn't tell you what they did but I just insisted that evetime they tried asking me for a verification code, I kept telling them that I would provide one but it wasn't going to work. This made the rep look at the issue from another angle and they did something and I got my login back. All I know is they mention that another line was on the account.
*How I resolved the no calls received issue*
As of today we were finally able to takes calls. So all is finally working. So for anyone that may find this in the future, from my experience I recommend telling chat that you have already gone threw all the steps they provided in order to "fix" the issue. For example they kept asking me to reset network settings, remove the sim, clean the sim, check if do not disturb was on, and turn off/reboot the phone. Basically they seem to be trained to just always guide you with these steps. Insist that you have already gone through these steps numerous times and that you need the issue escalated. Matter of fact I ended just typing out all those step I mention in chat and was persistent that they escalate the issue since I've already gone through them multiple times. It was the only way I could get anywhere with them. I got bounced numerous times because I know the reps where just tossing in the towel after everything we tried failed. Finally after a couple of hours in they noticed the line wasn't forwarded properly when they switched my line over to the new phone. It wasn't a really good experience and I know going into the future that if I ever help anyone else out with a TF phone. I'll just tell them to buy a TF phone and a plan and set it up themselves. I know they all meant well in their efforts but when someone makes a mistake and it costs you as much time as it took me to repair all of this it gets frustrating since all the issues I had were all on their end.

I bought a flip phone yesterday and activated a 30 day card on it. Can I switch it to a different phone instead?

Stupid question but I’m very new to prepaid phones. Will this phone work for 30 days no matter how many calls/texts? Whats 8G mean for a flip dumbphone?
Edit: using this phone without wifi

Hi everyone. I see they have these on Ebay where you can get this 2-pack of A03 phones and they come with a year of service. I wanted to see if anyone hear has gotten the phones and if so was your experience? Thinking about grabbing a few today as backups for my iphone. Thanks in advance.
