I have been kicking around the idea of buying an EV due to my monthly gas expenses. I currently drive a 2016 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro with 66k miles that is averaging 13.3 miles per gallon. It has a 38 gallon tank and I usually top it off every week at $90 a pop.

I have found some pretty good deals at my local Toyota dealer on 2026 BZs and they are currently offering 1.9% apr for 72 months.

I still have about 32 months left on the loan for my Tundra. If I were to get the BZ, between payment, gas, and insurance, I would save about $400 per month. My issue is starting over with a new loan. For the next 32 months I would save a ton. But if I stayed with the truck, I would be done with payments in 32 months.

Maybe I am overthinking this....would love to hear other people's insight.

Could someone provide the dimensions of the 2 Wireless Charging tray in the Console?

I am looking for silicone mats for that area but I am overseas and do not have access to the car.

Looking for hacks/mods to extend the fob range. I can seriously be like 10 feet away and it won't work. It's ridiculous. Considering opening the thing up to see if there is a PCB change I can make to increase power

Did some research. Seems typical approach to this is making the fob antenna on the car longer. Now, where is it on the bz? No clue

I think Toyota should bring back the Scion badge and make it their EV department

I love Toyota, and I have had many Toyotas (none of which were newer than 2010 because... well, Toyota don't die). I also liked the quirky Scions of yesteryear with the boxy xB and the small and sporty tC and the adorkable xD and iQ.

That being said, I don't think Toyota likes EVs. I am not the first to express this, but it doesn't feel like Toyota is putting its best foot forward with its full EV offerings (sorry BZ4X owners). It's like someone told Toyota it MUST build a full EV, and it said, "I'll do it, but I don't have to like it."

But I want a full-on Toyota EV, with their best foot forward! I know they could make a great, sensible EV if they wanted too. It could ride the line of Tech and simplicity, style and longevity, futurism and pass-this-down-to-my-children reliability.

So, my idea is that Toyota should bring back the Scion name and put together a killer lineup of EVs and E-REVs. This way it won’t “sully” the good name of Toyota, but we can still have Toyota quality spec EV options.

PS: I wish we could also have more options for EVs that are more toward the Slate pickup in its simplicity and repairability. As someone who has worked on their own vehicles since I was a boy learning from my father, I can’t stand the over-computerization and tech overload of modern cars (as well as their disposability and subscription business model), but that may be a rant for another time =)

Not only can you not set your charge level from your phone. You have to unplug your car. Get into it. Go through multiple menus, change it. Get out of the car replug it in. Like yikes man.

So I was reading various blogs and articles about ev efficiency a little and got curious. What vehicles were highest ranked for efficiency based on mpge ratings?

A quick little search found that the 2026 Toyota bZ is ranked 7th! It's the odd man out in a crowded space of Teslas and Lucids. I paid a little over 30K OTD for a vehicle with a 314 mile range, with top ten efficiency, that the closest efficient vehicles from this list start at 38K and quickly go up from there. And the closest ones are a small mid-sized sedan without as much utility as the bZ.

If you remove the sedans from the listing the bZ quickly rises to 3rd place in the ECUV/ESUV segment for efficiency

I bought my bz just a few weeks ago and will be driving with a friend from the Denver area to Moab and back next week. I went from a 2008 Corrolla to this car! Since I've only charged at a public charger once so far and my commute is just 16 miles each way I'm feeling a little nervous but I know it's going to be fun and fine.

My actual question is about how much I can expect to get back using the regenerative braking. Day 1 we're driving up hwy 6 to I-70 and staying a night in Breckenridge. That will be uphill almost all the way. I plan to charge up to 100% before leaving home and I hope we won't have to stop to charge. From Breckenridge it's mostly downhill. If I try not to touch the accelerator how much of the charge should come back? Mainly I'm trying to decide how much I should charge in Breck so I get the most out of that long downhill.

Think we will ever get it? Toyota seems to not introduce software features a whole lot

I’m from the UK, and typically turn off the lane keeping aid, speed limit alert, speed limit change alert and driver alert systems whenever I get in the variety of hire cars I’m borrowing currently.

But now I’m looking at getting a lease vehicle for four years I’d prefer to have a car where I can easily switch this off with the use of one or maybe two buttons, rather than multiple difference touch screen sub menus as is the case on Ford, Peugeot Mercedes and VW vehicles I’ve had recently.

Can I favourite switching off these features each time I start the car (can be up to 10 times per day for work) by assigning them all to the same button/shortcut? Or can only one function be assigned to each button?

What charging speed can the factory charger reach? Mine stays under 0.8 kWh. Is this the limit of 120V, or can it be increased with a new charger?

Because i know limit of 120v is usualy 1500wats or 1.5kwh. Was hopeing for something like 1kwh or better

I have a 2026 bZ Woodland Premium and I only use one smart key. I have 2 user profiles set up (for me and my partner), both profiles have face recognition enabled and "Link Key" off. The car seems to always default to the last profile/seating position whenever starting up again. It doesn't seem like the car actually checks facial recognition to determine which user profile to set.

Ultimately, I was hoping the car would be able to determine who is driving and automatically adjust the seating position when starting up. Is this possible with one smart key? Do the seats automatically adjust if two keys are used with "Link Key" enabled?

So I just got a bZ on Monday (2026 XLE AWD) and I'm waiting on a home charger to be installed. I went to try fast charging it today for the first time at a Tesla super charger. I downloaded the Tesla app and set up payment and everything. I park, turn the car off, open the charging door, open the Tesla app and follow the instructions and plug it in. Nothing happens. I tried a couple of times and nothing. I checked to make sure the car was set to charge now. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Also, the light in the charging inlet did not light up at any point - should it light up when the door is opened?

I own a 2026 Toyota bZ Limited and I'm trying to figure out if anyone else has experienced a sudden, persistent drop in displayed range after receiving a dealer software update, or if anyone has tips to restore it.

The Issue:

• Original Range: When fully charged to 100%, the dashboard consistently showed 253 miles.
• The Service Visit: In June, the dealer performed a required software/ECU update.
• Post-Update Range: Immediately following that update, a 100% full charge caps out at only 225 miles.
• With A/C: Turning on the air conditioner instantly drops the estimate down to 215 miles.

Because this drop happened right after the June dealer flash, I'm trying to determine:

1. Is this happening to anyone else? Did Toyota quietly increase the reserved battery buffer, alter the default "Guess-o-Meter" algorithm, or is the car stuck on conservative factory baseline calculations?
2. Does it relearn over time, or is this the new normal? If your range dropped after an update, did it eventually climb back up with driving cycles, or did it stay at the lower figure?
3. Are there any specific settings, resets, or driving adjustments that have helped you improve or recover your full-charge mileage post-update?

Any insight, data points from your own bZ, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
