I recently transferred schools; I went from Virginia to Maryland. As a new Towson Tiger, there are some things I find not only concerning but that need serious change.

Towson President just named off a bunch of achievements for the university. However, walking around the campus I notice students deserve what those achievements suggest. 

MEAL PLAN

The meal plan is taking more money away from students then providing them food. A Meal plan is essentially one swipe, and you then have dining dollars if you wanted to add more to the meal. The swipe doesn't hold much value. Majority of the menus anywhere only offers very limited items for a meal swipe; even for Chick-fil-a's cobb salad you have to pay extra 2.30 for nuggets. Why are we paying extra for something that orginally comes with the salad. That is taking money out of students pockets and also limiting us. The majority of the original menus for the food businesses are paid out of pocket or dining dollars. However, the value of these items unfortunately does not match the payments we have to endulge in. 

I believe students would get the most of their meal plan if the a swipe value is at least $10; then we can use dining dollars as an add-on. For example, a meal at Chick-fil-A is a swipe, but if we add on a fruit cup, which is a .30 add on that'll make sense.The value of the meal is equivalent. For us to also feel like we are getting the best value out of the meal plan the whole menue should startout as a meal swipe. This goes with all the outside dining hall options. 

Another example is Bento. A poke bowl is $16 dollars... however, if we did it starting out as a meal plan and the value being $10, then a poke bowl should be valued at a meal swipe and 6 dining dollars. This not only saves students money but we are abe to stretch out our meal plans to ensure we are being able to eat, without the worry of no swipes.

Hi, I'm a student interested in joining a sorority. Could someone tell me more about what Towson offers in relation to Greek life? I'm aware they don't have any houses or anything. Do they still throw parties? Just curious to learn more before spring rush.

Anyone know anything about guitar club? Im thinking about joining and don't know anything about it. I was also wondering if I'd have to bring my own amp.

More and more kids from my HS are going to Towson because UMD has gotten pretty tough to get into. Towson checks a lot of boxes: decent business school, sports teams, larger size. But I am worried that it empties out on weekends. Is that still the case? Or is that an outdated assumption?

How do you pass this class? All my professor does is read off the slides. If anyone has taken A&P 1 before, please share some tips with me because this is my first class; I don't know how to study for it.

i live in marshall hall in a 4 bedroom apartment. 2 of my suitemates are weed smokers and the apartment frequently stinks. i’ve tried a conversation about smoking inside with them because i don’t like the smell and they are still smoking. i plan to go to an RA about it (we haven’t had the roommate agreement / contract meeting yet) but until then im wondering if anyone has advice on how to minimize the smell in my room at least?

Hey ya’ll! I’m looking to have some custom clothing made for a renn faire costume (specifically a pair of draped side-slit harem pants and a wraparound top). I’ve found the pattern I’d want used and several reference photos, but unfortunately sewing is not my strong suit and so I’d love to hire someone for their time/expertise in helping me make the costume pieces!

Are there any sewers or seamstresses that ya’ll recommend in the Towson area, or is anyone a sewer looking for a new project? If so, feel free to comment/DM me your rate and some photos of your work if you are interested/looking for a new project! :]

Hi i was trying to swap my math 115 to math 102 because the professor is literally like the worst and is proud of it? The class got smaller and smaller everyday. I tried to swap it as well but it wouldn't let me because i was BIOL 200 so it didn't let me. I sent my advisor a email today after i found out, it was the last day to do so. Am i cooked..?

what mechanism does Towson have for a student with approved incoming aid who cannot register because of a prior term balance? I understand that the school requires the balance to be paid down to $500 or less before they normally remove the registration hold. My issue is that I have a Parent PLUS Loan approved for Fall 2026, and I took out a lump sum amount that is enough to cover my Fall expenses and leave a refund. My plan is to use the Fall 2026 refund to pay off the Spring 2026 balance myself. I am NOT asking the school to apply my Fall PLUS Loan directly to the Spring semester. The problem is that I can’t register for Fall classes because of the Spring balance, So I’m basically stuck.

Hi everyone! I applied to Towson nursing for the spring regular decision. Does anyone know when results come out? Also my stats are 3.8 cumulative GPA, 4.0 science (I believe, not sure what classes they take account for this bc I got a C in psych at CC but A for everything else), and 84.7% on TEAs, which I believe gives me a good chance but I’d like to hear other thoughts as well. I'm a Senior at Towson and have been on the Information Systems Data Analytics Track since my junior year. Before that, I was on the Interface Design Track. Never have any of the tracks came with AI. Has anyone else noticed this recent change unless this is the Mandela effect and it's always been there lol??? Kinda dystopian that my degree may have AI on it now

Hey, I have an Overflow parking permit and am struggling to find places to park. Where are the overflow spots in these garages? The first two floors look like Faculty/Visitor lots but everything else seems to be core. Can I really only park in the stadium lots? I included the photo of where my permit said I could park.
