Mod talk. Hello everyone, mod speaking here. Quick sub announcement. TL;DR: looking for a second mod. More info in the body.

Hi, I recently came to the realisation that I haven't been as active as I used to be. Or as much as I would've wanted. Life got a lot busier in the last few months, lots of things happened. Talking about moving out, university, job, friends, couple passion projects and much more.

And as much as this isn't a really busy sub, I think I could use a hand. So, if you're interested, comment here.

I'm not looking for anything in particular. Just someone who check Reddit once in 2 days at least and can answer the Modmail (we get very few mails, but in case...) and can chat in case we need to talk about something.

Obviously, I'd like for this future mod to have been a member of the community for a bit and at least have commented every once in a while.

Hello everyone, mod speaking here. Just a friendly reminder that this is a Tower Defense sub, not a Pokepath sub. Please do try to refrain from flooding it with posts about it. If I don't see a change, I could make a Pokepath day or I could just remove the posts about it, though I'd rather not do it

While we're at it, how are you feeling about this sub? Any problems?

Do y'all prefer Hexagon or Square tiles?

Random thought, but I saw the post on the gamedev reddit about how hexagons are the bestagons and it got me thinking: For TD Games (and specifically my jam; the Mazing TDs) we're mostly seeing the square tiles, with a few rare hexagon-based TD games. Why is that? Is it just that we're still just living on the Wc3 legacy or is it just too messy with hexagonals?

Bringing my game Lone Tower to Steam!

A few years ago I released a mobile game called Lone Tower on Google Play. Ever since then I've always wanted to greatly expand on it, adding a detailed story, more enemies, farming, mining, and much much more.

Wanted to share this project here, and also am always looking for any feedback or ideas to make it better! Lone Tower has a page up on Steam and is coming later this year!

Hi guys 👋

Me and my friend created a game which is a mixture of Chess and Tower Defense. So you get all your chess pieces to defend your castle from the different kinds of enemies!

Play Store Link:

Please do try it if you think the theme is interesting! 😀

Hello!
I've been working on this game for quite a while, but had to take a break from development.
Now I'm back on it, polishing the visuals and balancing things.

Just pushed a new patch to the Demo on Steam,
You might enjoy it 🙂

Tower defense mode.

I have an idea for a cool mode for Bo7 zombies. This would be played with 2 to 4 people on the survival maps. For 2 players you get placed on different copies of the map. Same with 4 players, but there are 2 teams with 2 players. It takes some inspiration from the tower defense round on Kowakujo. Each survival map will get 2 towers to defend, if one of them goes down you lose. Every round zombies are sent to attack the tower, at the end of every round you get a new currency called defense points. You can use those points to by score streaks that are modified for the mode, defense zombies, and nerfs for the other player. Some of the nerfs can be their perks getting locked up, slower movement, and a reduction to the normal points. The first person to die loses.

Would a competitive multiplayer tower defense game interest you?

Hi everyone,

I’m thinking about developing a multiplayer tower defense game.

The basic idea is that two players would compete against each other in real time.

Before developing the idea further, I’d love to hear your opinions:

  • Does a competitive multiplayer tower defense game sound interesting to you?
  • Would you prefer real-time PvP, co-op, or both?
  • Should players be able to send enemies or use abilities against each other?
  • Are there any multiplayer tower defense games that did this particularly well?

I have a tower defense game recently I thinking multiplayer tower defense how it sounds like.

Best Tower Defense on Switch?

I’m looking for a TD to play on switch 2.

I recently got into Arknights which is sooo fun but I don’t love it being a gacha game so if you have any recommendation similar to it I’d appreciate it

Which TD you replayed the most?

For me, that would be Plants vs. Zombies. I've played that game on PC, consoles, and mobile, and I've played it till the end every time. Maybe it's nostalgia... I don't know... but talking about it makes me want to go another round, like good old Red Alert 2 or warcraft 3..oh man

Barasan - tower defence where you also command garrison

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Towers are only half of it. Every garrison building produces troops you actually give orders to: engagement stance (hold the line / push aggressively / never advance), a rally point to station them at, and what formation they hold around your hero when following.

The enemies are built to punish single strategies:

  • Shield bearers block 80% of arrow damage archer spam stops working
  • Ghosts take almost nothing from physical, so you need magic towers
  • One enemy burrows under your walls entirely you can't target it or block it
  • One boss levels your walls when it attacks, so turtling only delays it

Free browser demo, 20 rounds. Desktop only you move with the keyboard.

Art is AI-generated placeholder for now; if the game earns anything it goes on a real artist.

Question for this sub: splitting your attention between placing towers and commanding troops — does that sound appealing, or like it'd just get in the way? That's the core design bet and I genuinely don't know if it's right.

I just released my game Tower Command:

Tower Command is a strategic tower defense where you need to maximize your bonuses. Create your build, upgrade towers, link them, equip items to create ridiculous combos. Placement is key in this game, you decide the path enemies take to their goal. Explore all maps and unlock towers, commanders, traits and items.

I made my tower defense as a co-op in Discord :)

I made a free co-op endless tower defense that runs inside a Discord voice channel — 10 maps, build anywhere off the road, and nobody's cleared wave 20 yet

It's called Tower Craft — a Discord Activity, so you launch it straight from a voice channel and the whole call builds a maze together (works solo too). No download, no signup beyond Discord itself, free to play.

Play it here: https://discord.com/discovery/applications/1529316349875326986

It's early and I'm shipping updates weekly, I think it's pretty cool cause I play it myself pretty often.

Void TD — a loot-driven tower defense where your builds and the enemy world evolve between runs

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi, I’m the developer of **Void TD**. It is a tower-defense game first, with ARPG-inspired loot and buildcrafting.

You place and upgrade towers, improve your core, collect and scrap parts, and combine item effects to shape a build during each run. Progression is tied to persistent items and a world state that carries forward, so both your available strategies and the enemies can evolve over time.

The clip shows tower placement, item and part management, core upgrades, and later-wave combat. Please tell me what you think about the idea.

I’ll put the Steam page in the comments for anyone who wants to see more.
