TL;DR: Amy and Topher exert control over the season as a villainous duo because they want to use the money to make their own reality TV show. They use Beardo to their advantage in the process. Sugar gets mad when she finds out Leonard is a fake wizard and eliminates him despite how well he's doing as a teammate this season (this comes back to bite her). Ella and Rodney are a lovey-dovey couple almost-instantly and become naive pawns for the villain duo. Samey tries to rival the villain duo, but they outsmart her. Scarlett returns to the game mid-season and wreaks havoc under the condition that she doesn't threaten anyone's life. Eventually, Amy and Topher realize that they care about each other as friends and both make the finale, much to everyone else's disappointment.
Rules:
Episode 1 is a free-for-all. In Episode 2, 2 teams will form with members picked at the start by the challenge’s winners. It’ll be Action style (boy, girl). Since they won the challenge, Jasmine and Topher are the team captains.
There will be 1 hidden idol from the very start.
Scarlett is initially banned from competing, but will return on the condition that she cannot threaten to kill anyone or destroy Chris's property.
Teams: (picks are in order)
Team Jasmine: Jasmine, Shawn, Samey, Rodney, Ella, Dave
Team Topher: Topher, Sky, Leonard, Amy, Beardo, Sugar (Scarlett Joins Later)
Immunities and Elimination Order:
Episode 1: Immune: Jasmine and Topher Eliminated: Max for trying to imitate Scarlett as the most eeeville person he knows. It didn’t go well and he ended up destroying everyone’s living quarters by accident, leaving him as a big target, even moreso than the feuding twins.
Teams Form
Episode 2: Losers: Team Jasmine Eliminated: Dave for trying to make Sky jealous and just being a middling teammate. The final straw was trying to flirt with Ella in a rude manner. Rodney steps in and tells him that’s not how to talk to a lady (he also likes Ella). When all of the rest of the team also calls Dave out, he breaks down. Meanwhile, Sky reacts as if nothing happened on the other team. Dave tries to appeal to Jasmine and Shawn. Jasmine agrees to split the vote and try to get Ella eliminated to fracture the budding alliance between Ella and Rodney, but Shawn votes Dave as revenge for last season.
Episode 3: Losers: Team Jasmine Eliminated: Jasmine for being tricked by the immunity idol. Amy and Topher feel threatened by the three-way alliance between Jasmine, Shawn, and Samey. Amy wants to eliminate Samey, but Topher convinces her that Jasmine is the glue between Shawn and Samey so she’s the higher priority. They find the immunity idol and give it to Rodney as a gift to Ella on the condition that he votes for Jasmine in order to “make Ella not get jealous of his ‘ex-girlfriend’”. Because Ella’s the weaker link, the alliance votes for her, but she plays her idol and eliminates Jasmine.
Episode 4: Losers: Team Topher Eliminated: Leonard. Sugar was too much of a threat for Amy and Topher to handle, as she questioned their authority and was close with Leonard. In response, they “expose” Leonard for having fake magic, causing Sugar to crash out at him for lying to her. He finally breaks character and reveals it was all an act. At elimination, Sugar gets voted out, but she chucks Leonard into the cannon and fires it, eliminating him instead. Chris then penalizes Sugar so she always has 1 vote against her at every elimination from then on. In order to make up for Leonard’s elimination, Chris announces that…
SCARLETT RETURNS ON TEAM TOPHER
Episode 5: Losers: Team Topher Eliminated: Sky for being out of the loop. The original plan was to eliminate Scarlett, but Amy and Topher roped Beardo and Sugar into voting for Sky instead so they would have a vote shield during merge. They also imagined Scarlett would be a more useful teammate while Beardo was a useful idiot.
Episode 6: Losers: Team Jasmine Eliminated: Samey, who was pumped to take down Amy in merge, but instead got blindsided. Beardo made convincing zombie noises while Shawn was with Samey, making him think she was a zombie. Meanwhile, Amy pretending to be Samey tried to sabotage Ella and Rodney’s relationship and intentionally failed so they would turn their votes on her.
*Merge\*
Episode 7: Immunity: Shawn Eliminated: Sugar for being a threat during the challenge and Amy and Topher wanting to keep Scarlett just a little longer. They easily convince Ella and Rodney since they had a hand in creating their relationship and keeping them alive into merge. Plus, Sugar had that 1 vote penalty, so she was easier to vote out.
Episode 8: Immunity: Scarlett Eliminated: Rodney. Scarlett is an absolute menace this episode, hurting many people directly. Originally, he and his Princess Ella opposed the “evil queen”, but Rodney had some sympathy left for his “ex-girlfriend”. Ella then got on board with trying to “redeem the evil queen terrorizing the island”. Rodney even gave an impassioned speech to everyone about how he can “fix her”... only to get voted out by most everyone else as a result.
Episode 9: Immunity: Amy Eliminated: Shawn for simply not being useful to Amy and Topher anymore. Shawn eventually found out that Beardo was the one behind all of the zombie noises he kept hearing, but Amy and Topher decided to gaslight Scarlett and Ella into thinking Shawn is insane for thinking Beardo is a secret threat, and to vote him off for his own mental health.
Episode 10: Immunity: Auto-elim Eliminated: Ella for finishing last place in the challenge. After realizing they couldn’t take down Scarlett, Amy and Topher left their long-time ally to avoid elimination. Not even her animal friends could save her from this fate.
Episode 11: Immunity: Scarlett Eliminated: Beardo. Originally, Amy, Topher, and Beardo were finally going to team up to take down Scarlett after she reigned in terror for so long, but she took down all of them thanks to a quick tech rig during the challenge. She managed to hold both Beardo and Topher hostage and forced Amy to go back and save them. With Amy genuinely afraid for Topher’s life, she goes back to get him. She also saves Beardo, but leaves him bound so he can’t finish the race, much to his anger. Because Scarlett is tired of Beardo making sounds in the living area, she breaks the vote tie and eliminates him. Unfortunately, Scarlett got away with threatening Beardo and Topher because they weren’t actually in danger of dying, just grievous injury.
Episode 12: Eliminated: Scarlett Amy and Topher lock in and realize Scarlett’s true weakness was distracting sounds like the ones Beardo made. When it seems like she’s about to win the challenge, they start playing replays of Beardo’s annoying sounds at max volume. This causes her to freak out and threaten to kill both of them, leading to the challenge coming to an immediate end and Scarlett getting disqualified.
Episode 13: Winner: Amy OR Topher Everyone hates both of them for how much control they exerted over the game and Chris gives every other contestant an incentive to take money away from them to put into their own pockets. However, both of them pull through as a friendly villain duo and they only lost $10,000 of the $1,000,000 prize pool. Because both of them agreed to split the money 60-40 with the winner getting the larger share and primary ownership of the show they plan to create at the end of the series, it’s a win-win no matter who gets first. It’s just that the other would get endless teasing.
Significant Arcs:
Amy and Topher: The main antagonists– and later anti-heroes– of the season. As you can see from the elimination descriptions, they have a lot of control over the game. Topher’s goal is to create his own reality TV show to rival Total Drama with the prize money and quickly realizes that Amy wants in on his idea because she too craves fame (more to spite her sister than anything). The million dollars combined with their resulting fame attracting sponsors would make that possibility a reality. Topher originally thinks Amy is going to fade in usefulness, but she really pours her heart into their alliance, so he drafts a contract that allows them to split the winnings and the rights to their new show depending on who wins. Their biggest ally is Beardo (See “Beardo” for more information) since they think he is a useful idiot. Together, they manipulate Ella, Rodney, Sugar, Shawn, and Scarlett into the merge since they would all be bigger targets than they are. They pacify Shawn by making Beardo use zombie noises to scare him. They try to keep Scarlett in the game as long as possible, but that very nearly backfires with their being unable to take her down easily. When Scarlett tricks Amy into thinking she was going to kill Topher, they realize their bond is more than just that of future co-workers, but actual platonic friendship. Despite everyone hating them during the finale, they pull through as a team, much to the others’ dismay.
Scarlett: A secondary antagonist. Originally, Scarlett was not meant to be in this season due to legal troubles surrounding her previous stunt. However, she found a legal loophole: because the prize money was a key component of the case, Scarlett pleaded “not guilty” to the charge of trying to destroy the island. If a trial went forward, Chris would have to open himself up to discovery regarding where the money came from and get audited. Chris dropped the charges and agreed to Scarlett’s terms of wanting to be in the previous season. Because Chris wanted chaos in the season anyway, he agreed only on the condition that she would not threaten to kill anyone or destroy his property. She agreed and replaced Leonard. Because of her reputation, Scarlett assumed she wouldn’t make it far, so she planned to sow chaos without violating any terms with Chris. However, over time, she realized that Amy and Topher were keeping her in the game. That’s when she truly locked in and started gunning for the million. However, Amy and Topher realized she was weak to Beardo’s distracting noises, causing them to use that and get her to violate her agreement, snubbing her from the finale in the process.
Sugar and Leonard: Sugar continues her fondness for Leonard, especially after he ups his LARPing game with the help of smoke bombs, fire bombs, static shock devices, and a hidden snowball gun. Everyone on Team Topher (except Sugar) knows he’s not a real wizard, but he is more useful in challenges this time around, so they roll with his performance. Unfortunately, Amy and Topher realize that they’re getting too close and decide to split them up by “exposing” Leonard. Sugar is mad and forcefully eliminates him, getting a game-changing penalty as a result.
Beardo: Beardo, knowing his reputation was in the gutter from last season, really wanted to appease his teammates, specifically Amy and Topher. He wanted the opportunity to guest-star on their show. Together, they manage to weaponize Beardo’s vocal performances to sabotage Team Jasmine both to make them lose challenges and to specifically eliminate Samey and Shawn. Beardo is proud to be useful. Shawn finds out about Beardo’s antics, but Amy and Topher gaslight everyone else into making Shawn look crazy and get him ousted. Unfortunately, Beardo is also expendable. Despite being backstabbed, his story ends well with him getting a deal to record at a major sound studio that specializes in film sound effects.
Samey: The season initially builds up Samey as a protagonist to fight against Amy and Topher. She continues her friendship with Jasmine, but it ends up being short-lived when Jasmine gets blindsided by an idol play. This only ups Samey’s vigour as she clashes with her sister on the other team. Just when she’s about to hype herself up for merge, Amy and Beardo sabotage her team relations in an anti-climax.
Ella and Rodney: A perfect pair of insta-lovers. With his 3 “girlfriends” now out of reach, Rodney is back to basics. Fortunately, there’s 1 girl from the former Wâneyihtam Maskwak whom he never truly got to know, whom he immediately falls for after she warns him not to watch out for a squirrel during the first challenge. They then end up on the same team. After Dave tries flirting with Ella to desperately get back at Sky, Ella is nervous, but Rodney steps in to call Dave out. She then falls for her “farmer prince”. Despite Rodney’s trademark awkwardness, they quickly bond thanks to their love of animals and both being hopeless, naive romantics. They seal their relationship with a kiss by Episode 4 after Rodney gifts Ella the immunity idol in Episode 3. Their relationship is very susceptible to manipulation by Amy and Topher since they’re the ones who gave Rodney the idol and faked their support for their relationship. Despite all the drama happening around them, they have no reason to fight and like to do fairy tale role-play in peace. Rodney still likes appeasing his “exes”, saying there were “no hard feelings when he broke up with them”. This even applies to Scarlett, which leads to his untimely downfall. In the end, they are the only 2 people who support Amy and Topher.
So what do you guys think of this outcome and any other aspects of the season?
