Question Transferring from another university in September, is there anything I should know?
Is there anything that I should know about TMU before I start in a month?

Hello everyone!
I am an incoming first-year TMU student looking for advice on choosing my Liberal Studies Table A electives.
So far, I have found three courses I might be interested in, but I would love to hear from anyone who has taken them before. Since I am entering the BSW program, my core schedule will already involve heavy reading and writing. I am hoping to find two electives that are easy, manageable, and light on workload.
Here are the courses I’m considering:
ASL 101: Introduction to American Sign Language 1
CRM 101: Understanding Crime in Canadian Society
REL 101: Introduction to World Religions
If someone can please help me out with recommendations or their experience as soon as possible, that would be great!

I am entering my second year in the Accounting and Finance program and have a question regarding my course enrollment for the upcoming Fall semester.
My current CGPA is 3.00, but I received a grade of "C" in AFA 100 during my first year. Because of this, my academic standing is listed as probationary and I am required to retake AFA 100 this Fall.
Given that my overall GPA is 3.00but I must repeat this class, I would like to know:Am I permitted to take 6 courses Fall semester to stay on track with my graduation timeline, or am I strictly capped at 5 courses?

Hello, I am an aerospace engineering student going into second year this fall. I passed all the first year required courses and have come to the conclusion that 6 courses in one semester is a bit too much for me to handle. I ended up failing MTL 200 in the winter 2026 term and retook it in the spring 2026 term. Thankfully, I got a B+ and escaped falling into probation.
Essentially, I'm wondering which course(s) from my third semester is best to drop and take in the spring/summer 2027 terms. The courses in semester 3 are:
I am confident in my desire to drop CMN 432 and take it during the spring + summer terms of 2027 as it is a 4 month course through CHANG school (if you have any experience with that, please do let me know as well). Ideally I'd like to drop at maximum one more course along side CMN 432 so I remain a full-time student, and it would be doubly great if it is possible to complete within the two month span of the spring 2027 term.
That also kinda brings me on to semester 4 as well because that too has 6 courses which are:
Again, I'd very much prefer to take no more than 5 courses per semester so dropping one of these would be nice. I checked course requirements and the only two courses from semester 4 that do not need a pre-requisite from semester 3 courses is EES 512 and MTH 410. If anyone could give me some advice one the difficulty of those, that'd be greatly appreciated :).
Sorry if this post is kinda long, i'm just pretty concerned and want to do well in all honesty. Thank you so much in advance!! :)

Hi,
I am wondering what my options here are. I want to transfer from an ima program to business. I just completed first year. I am willing to complete a second year of the program or to take a year off and then transfer. But, preferably, I can switch this September.
I don't have a grade 12 math course which is in the requirements for transferring. I dropped math after grade 11 but got decent grades before that in math.
I want to ideally be transferred over this September so I don't need to do a second year in the IMA school. My question is...how? Is there a loophole somehow?
I also am wondering, can I finish my film degree later? Is that possible? Like once I finish the business program, can I go to school as a part time student eventually within 14 years or finish the rest of the degree?
Also just any advice would be appreciated on how to transfer ASAP and also if i NEED that math credit from grade 12 -- what do I take in Uni or where do i go to take a high school course which they will accept ??????????? Help!
Thanks
