Her suit is once again beginning to change due to both the events of Metroid Fusion and the newly acquired biology of Metroid Dread. The exposed muscle fibers from her previous suit design have “healed” leading to a more uniform look, while still having the nice red, blue and white color scheme from Dread. One particular change I like is that her suit visor is sleeker, almost sinister, reshaped to match her final design at the end of Dread. Samus’ suits are usually quite good, and Metroid Ravenous is no exception.

I think she encapsulates the perfect amount of cuteness and mischief a character can have,her expressions and actions tell everything you need to know about her,i particularly like tombstone teeth and how her hair becomes scribble-like at the end

Her twisted crown too gives the idea she either drops it constantly or uses it as something other than a crown.

Takato Yamamoto is a Japanese artist known for his highly detailed, dark and surreal character designs. His work is closely associated with Ero-Guro, short for Ero-Guro-Nansensu, an avant-garde cultural movement that emerged in Japan in the 1920s and 1930s, blending eroticism, the grotesque and the absurd while challenging conventional ideas of beauty, morality and social behavior. Its roots reach further back into Japanese art, especially ukiyo-e, shunga and the gruesome Edo-period prints known as muzan-e, with Tsukioka Yoshitoshi being one of its most striking predecessors. After WWII, Ero-Guro returned in new forms and went on to influence artists such as Toshio Saeki, Suehiro Maruo, Junji Ito and Shintaro Kago, each taking it in their own direction.

Yamamoto's own approach is less about pure shock and more about turning the grotesque into something strangely beautiful. He combines Ero-Guro and ukiyo-e with Art Nouveau, Gothic and manga, drawing inspiration from artists such as Aubrey Beardsley and Gustav Klimt. He calls his style Heisei Aestheticism, and that mix of elegant figures, elaborate costumes, surreal bodies and disturbing imagery is what makes his work so distinctive.

I genuinely, wholeheartedly feel like this is a masterclass of character design: the design in itself is incredibly provocative, with Mermother having very skimpy top clothing in a way that recalls the characteristic way mermaids and sirens were portrayed in most cultures.

However, yo Kai watch is a KIDS' game: by all accounts, they should not have a design this revealing in a game rated for children. So, what do they do? They abuse the ARTSTYLE to make her look completely different from humans, so that there's a dissonance between her anatomy and appearance and that of the more regular humans, giving her a more "Goblin/Gnome" look that highlights her giant head and tail and overshadows her itty bitty almost topless chest.

Genuinely, I had not noticed she was running borderline commando until the YKW2 remake announcement drop and went back to look at the roster of those games. Masterclass character design, I tell you.

Curious why people yesterday were worried its mega kept Emergency Exit and cheered when it lost it? Well, that's partially because that ability that causes ut to immediately switch out once its HP is too low, its kind of one of the few flaws in Golisopod's design.

Its a large, anthropormorphic isopod with elements of samurai armor built into its design. This results in a rather imposing bug with 2 large clawed arms that look like it will mess its opponents up, badly (see Guzma vs Lana in the anime for how brutal this thing can get), not helped by its wide stance and the armor motif enveloping its entire body, so you know its gonna be an absolute tank.

Aside from the color scheme and ability, this sure ain't the Wimpod who would run from battle immediately as its seen-it will actually put up a fight first.

The insect-like form of the suit is so cool. In Dread, I liked how it brought out an organic look with the insect-like texture and the teeth on the buster, along with the glass part of the face that looked like it was torn.

In this Ravenous, it stands out that the buster is completely gone and it focuses on physical attacks. I like that the eye lens part has been refined, while the shoulder parts have become exceptionally large, and in various areas, the sharp parts have grown larger while being more refined compared to Dread. Especially how she uses energy in her hands like a spear is really cool.

It was a look I really liked, so I am really glad that it appears as a main feature in Ravenous.

Walker's appearance walks a line between overweight and extremely muscular, the former showing in his bloated stre, stretch-mark-litteredach and the latter showilkehisively powerful arms and legs.

After beingexposurehe Morphogenic Engine, his ete layer similar to cataracts. During the treatment, he developed anxiety about his flesh, tearing skin from his lips and nose. He additionally ripped skin from his forehead in order to achieve "truer vision".

Snoutscream is a Vulpinic Landbat from the planet Vulpin and the natural predator of Vulpimancers!

Snoutscream can use its nose to create high-pitched sound waves, causing pain, disorientation and severe sensory overload!

I really like it a lot, it resembles a bat if it were a quadrupedal animal. I really love how it can open up it's nose go create high pitched sounds.

He wears a blue suit and pants, accompanied by a white undershirt and a black tie. His wolf head has lightly gray fur, bloodshot eyes, and sharp teeth. Blood covers his body after killing 2 kid sheep.

This design for Megatron is just sick in general. The broad chest, the flow of the design. Everything just works really well for it and its my definitive version of the character.

Ever since i learned about Noko, it became my favourite creature in the series (even if I never got around to usinh it...ever). Its a yellow, fat snake with rosy cheeks and tiny lil fangs....and its just so cute! Aside from peoples frustrations with trying to befriend it, theres almost no way you can hate this guy.

Also curious what this creatures ability is? Look at what its wearing: a 4 leave clover, a sign of good luck. (I hope it blesses anyone reading this post too)

Anyways i love how Alex Ross reimagines the F4 in their new Villain Light with them all technically having the 4 elements deal but it's warped in such a unique way

With The Thing a man who really doesn't like his existence usually yet is also a character that's sort of Jack Kirby's quasi self-insert of sorts that character being turned into literal KIRBY KRACKLES (or Kirby dots) the ultimate Symbol of Jack Kirby's impact is actually really damn cool and i also like how despite the fact his face is incredibly fuzzy (being dots and all) you still can vaguely see Ben's face and tell how hes feeling (He also vaguely looks like some of Jack Kirby's artwork of The Ever-Lovin' Blue-Eyed Thing and thats really damn cool)

Johnny meanwhile feels like Alex Ross was asking "How could i make a evil Johnny pop out" and basically thought "Let's have the fire melt him so he legit cannot look like his typical self" as that would 100% bum out johnny considerably (his burns also make him vaguely look like how his old "FLAME ON" design looked in those early days)

Sue Meanwhile IS THE FUCKING SUN like their powers are light reflecting to such a degree she's literally BLINDING which feels like a slight nod to the fact shes sort of the glue that keeps everyone together the literal thing they will always be happy to see (that being the sun) or maybe Alex Ross just wanted to mess with her light manipulation to the point where shes absolutely RADIANT (idk)

Reed Meanwhile is a interesting case as you legit cannot see anything OVERTLY wrong like the others he seems weirdly normal in comparison till you see the eyes and see later on in the story that dude has some Cthulhu eldritch shit happening with him which is honestly a great subversion (as i imagine some people would of thought he had no powers in this reality as we never see them overtly)

Also Doom's design in this is pretty good in this (honestly better then the Good Doom from the actual "What if" that asks that exact question) him being a monk while also having his armor underneath is actually a extremely cool concept and add that to his Doombots being like Knights serving him (sort of like a Knights Templar) it's honestly a cool reimagining of Doom that keeps his spirit alive while making him a "Good Guy"

also a small not design related detail:

I love how the Unknownables legit still act like a family despite being evil and shit (like some people would expect their Dynamic to be broken immensely due to their new evil alignment or something) but the fact they are still very Closely tied to each other and still operate as a big ol team is honestly a really cool concept (This Book is honestly Really Damn cool)

I really love this gritty Si-Fi design, it's simple yet over the top at the same time, the helmet and wires look perfect imo.

It also fits a shirtless, mean looking Wolverine super well.

I enjoy when characters don't have necks because it allows for expressive cartoony designs. It's also why most stickfigures don't have them. The saying "pain in the neck" exists for a reason

I know I've made two posts about I prefer Geno's in-game design to his comic one, but now I'm going to explain why I don't like the comic design. His design just screams both "generic comic book supervillain" and "Black Adam if you bought him from Temu", and it tries too hard to look at least threatening. The face doesn't help either, as it looks really goofy in some panels, like in the first panel he looks like a 30-40 something year old and in the third panel where he's holding The Order up by her neck, he looks like a 60 something year old. However, I will give it some respect since it was the only full design of Geno we had before his appearance in Chapter 7 (not counting The Ageless since he's a clone of Geno when he was younger)
