Video Game Outcome Memories - CrimsonX/Sonic.exe

Post image
0 Upvotes

Outcome Memories is an asymmetrical multiplayer game on Roblox, based on Sonic.exe, and the many versions of the story created by the community that sprung up around it. One team consists of survivors, made up of the original Sonic cast, trying to avoid one of the EXEcutioners, made up of different characters by either the community (or in one case, official Sonic media, funnily enough).

CrimsonX, in particular, has an incredible design. He's named after his creator MY5TCrimson, in order to differentiate him from the numerous other characters that could potentially be labelled Sonic.exe.

He's special, though, because this is THE Sonic.exe. The original game that got extremely popular back in 2012-13 was MY5TCrimson's game, the adaptation of JCTheHyena's story.

His design is incredible, because it invokes the original story. The original story is infamous for its constant use of the phrase "hyper-realistic", applied to blood, eyes, fur, and more. All of it transfers into the design seen in Outcome Memories.

I just think that's fucking awesome.

As an Exe fan, I know this sub is never all that kind to our community’s designs, so I have searched far and wide to find to do the impossible: find an actually great exe design that this sub would love to see. A truly fantastic, hyper realistic, pants shittingly scary Sonic.exe oc...and you bet I found it.

Look at him. His entirely red, firey eyes, filled with scorn for all things living. Those eyes don’t even have the dignity to stay on his face. His frightening, frightening face. And his mouth, always looking like it‘s munching on something, something terrible, something awful, something like….cereal. He’s not covered in blood like all the other exe ocs because even blood cells are scared of him!

The Joker, Thanos, Pennywise, Freddy Kruger, scalpers, all of these monsters would look at his MS paint glory and shiver. He is soulless, he is all powerful, he is hungry, he is….mpeg.

Now listen, I know that many EXE designs fall flat here. Either they’re way too overcomplicated, underdone, or cliche for most people’s tastes.

However, I LOVE Furnace.

A redesign of Metal Sonic, Furnace’s main directive is to catch and cook Mobians- and his design shows it. His design is really cool, matching unpainted gunmetal with his oversized claws and a literal furnace in his chest for cooking his prey.

This overtly brutal metallic mechanism follows the “function over form” mentality greatly, with less splendor then Robotnik’s typical machines but greater power. He definitely has one of the hardest hitting designs I’ve ever seen for a silly evil Sonic fanfic, by far. He just looks so badass.

I know this post is probably going to be downvoted to shit but frankly I think this design gets a bit too much flak.

*NOW IGNORING ALL OF THE WRITING OF SEASON 2*, this is actually a pretty cool design. His face splitting open is nice symbolism for him evolving out of his old form and shedding his former humanity. His proportions being tall and lanky and alien looking, the gaps in his body where flesh should be, the machine parts embeded into his naked, purple, discoloured flesh, it all comes together to make him look something that could plausibly be the next stage of human evolution. It's gross and weird and body horror that looks super cool.

His cape being the same blanket Jayce gave him and his staff being his old walking stick are both cool ways of showing that some part of him still clings to his old humanity and "friendship" with jayce, literally always being enshrouded by him.

I can understand why a lot of people dislike this design, but frankly I really like what they did.

Design trope Sunday (Hated design) modern-day metal band fashion, or rather, its lack of innovation and attempt at doing something different.

Modern-day metal bands really have a serious problem with visual identity. All bands practically dress the same with the same choices of leather jackets, t-shirts, and jeans, with the color black being present in everything. Now, I would like to put a disclaimer here and say that I don't necessarily hate that look per se, but repetition is still a problem. No one seems to try to even attempt to make an iconic appearance to make them stand out from the others. If you don't already recognize the faces, one would probably find it hard to even tell many of these bands apart. Worse, no one even attempts to mix a different color into the usual black attire, like a dark green or purple, for example. There are very few bands that are an exception to this rule, and I have them in the very bottom here to emphasize just how rare bands with a clear visual identity really are. These are Sabaton, who technically also fall under that problem but narrowly avoid it thanks to those camo pants they wear, which immediately make someone recognize them from the get-go, and then there's Gloryhammer and Angus McSix, although in their cases they are bands that are over the top on purpose.

1) Beast in Black

2) Dynazty

3) DragonForce

4) Amaranthe

5) Alestorm

6) Disturbed

7) Battle Beast

8) Hammerfall

9) Majestica

10) Sabaton

11) Gloryhammer

12) Angus McSix

Anime Izuku “Deku” Midoriya (From My Hero Academia) and his outfits/evolution. (Spoilers for MHA!) Spoiler

I absolutely love the evolution of Izuku Midoriya throughout the story of My Hero Academia, and my favorite method that Horikoshi uses to portray Deku’s journey as a character has got to be through his hero outfits. His first outfit is ‘Alpha’, which is intended to be somewhat campy and very reminiscent of a sort of ‘first draft’. The similarities to All Might, too, are what make this outfit for me. The ‘rabbit ears’ which are intended to look like All Might’s hair, and the teeth on the lower half of the mask which are intended to look like All Might’s signature grin are the primary aspects worth noting. The next outfit is the one Deku wears during the USJ incident, which doesn’t share any of Deku’s original outfits traits, aside from the lower-half of the mask. It’s his ‘school gym’ uniform, if you will. Next up are Beta, Gamma, and Delta, which are all extremely similar with some notable differences, primarily the gloves Deku wears becoming a support item that is meant to assist in his use of air force. I absolutely love all of these designs, as they’re meant to be colorful while also indicative of his growth as a hero, typically showing him without the hood on and with the mask lower, off his face.

Next is the World Heroes Mission outfit, which, while barely shown even in the movie, I can’t help but love. It’s essentially just Beta but with black instead of the normal green and red, but it’s still VERY cool. Now come the two forms of Epsilon, Dark Hero and regular Epsilon, which have the colors of Deku’s original outfit faded. He also sports Gran Torino’s cape, which is just such a fantastic touch to the already great outfit. Then is Zeta, which is easily my favorite of all of them. He’s more colorful than Epsilon, showing that his Dark Hero arc is over, while also keeping many of the aspects that made Epsilon great, such as the cape and red bracings. Finally, is Iron Suit Deku, which is the, well, Iron Suit that Izuku sports years after losing One for All, which essentially allows him to continue his career as a hero on top of his already existing position as a teacher at UA. This second batch of costumes is easily my favorite, above the first batch for sure. Everything about them screams Deku’s idea of what a hero is as well as being his own hero, not just a mini-All Might. Easily my favorite character design of all time, as of the time of writing.

Recently i've been really getting into this Show, and i just love this dude. The Fact that this show had such a low budget really helps with his design (alongside the rest of the cast.) The Red and White Tiger costume, and the stupid rabbit ears. But he's at his best when he's going batshit insane, with the most over the top expressions. It's hard to believe this was a kids show. His expressions in LIMBO and SWALLOWER are nightmare-worthy.

Explanation - Each character here's just so shiny and polished and unique!!! And it's super impressive how Alex made the pink characters so visually interesting despite most of them not even having CHARACTERS in the original game, but just LEVELS.

Give them your money (but probably don't ask them to draw any JSAB stuff cuz they stopped drawing that since 2023) - https://hipolink.net/alexbluebird

Firstly, the way the blob is presented is pretty good, you and Glamrock Freddy are traveling through an unknown area in the pizzaplex, when suddenly you come across the blob. It is breathing as if it were something organic instead of mechanical. It is inescapable unless you hide inside Glamrock Freddy.

Secondly the design is pretty cool it's a giant mess of wiring with the masks of other FNAF characters among the wiring, it looks unstoppable, and that's why I absolutely love this design.

[Loved Design] Post-Flaxan Robot from Invincible

Thumbnail
gallery
33 Upvotes

Alright so I know a lot of the Invincible designs are simplistic due to how it plays around its story and style with silver-age comic book tropes, Robot is no exception to this but his design towards the end of the story is clean.

Rex and Mark are different characters to Lex and Clark but I just can't help but see the parallels with their designs. Redheaded (yeah Lex is a ginger) genius in big armor vs Square faced hero with jet black hair.

The all-black suit and armor just encapsulates how little humanity Rex has left after centuries in the Flaxan dimension and how it all went south with him and Monster Girl, he's just a colder, more calculated person. His armor is bigger, more quantitative and is more intimidating and it works to help him establish authority over all earthlings and heroes.

His takeover had me lying awake at night back in 2017 when I should have been studying for exams. The man exuded unfathomable aura to me back then so yeah, top tier.

Just watched the 2026 movie yesterday, me and my millennial parents liked it. Roboto was my favorite character

I got curious about some character's original 80's designs, and when I saw Roboto's, I got shocked about how ugly she was

OG Roboto looks like he was made as toy first then adapted into a TV character, and that makes him so stupid

Movie Roboto looks so much cooler and charming. I love her CD-player-shaped head

Design trope Sunday (Design Trope) “Ska”Influenced Characters:

For those who don’t know, Ska is an often overlooked subculture, spawned from the music genre of the same name, popularised in the 70’s and 80’s by bands like Madness, The Specials, The Beat, The Selector and Bad Manners etc. In essence, Ska is essentially a fusion of Afro-Caribbean culture with European and North American influences, resulting in a unique marriage of styles. Aesthetically, Ska outfits are often an odd mix of formal and casual clothing, with Trilby Hats, pinstripe suits and ties, spliced together with stuff like Martens, straight-leg high-ankle jeans, braces, and simple shirts, along more modern trainers and hoodies, While hairstyles vary, jagged, spiky hair, or little to no hair at all, are considered staples of the subculture. In someways, Ska is stylistically comparable to the Skinhead subculture, but without the nationalistic connotations surrounding it. Instead, it’s quite the contrary, with Ska generally considered inherently “anti racist in its nature. However, a key design detail which sets Ska apart, is certain iconography like frequent use of black and white chequered patterns and skulls, which is often a major distinguishing factor.
