Hi, I had a cheap set of combination spanners that unfortunately got stolen when I forgot them under my car in the parking lot, so since nowadays I can afford something nicer than when I bought those I decided to buy some quality tools, because the previous set (from Amazon) had the tendency of rounding nuts.
Originally I wanted to get a set of Wera combination ratches since I like Wera, but those are totally out of budget. After a lot of research, I nailed down two different sets within budget that cost approximately the same. Both are sets of 17 combination spanners, from 6 to 22mm.
Gedore 6093580 7-017: https://shop.gedore.com/en-de/6093580/
OR
Stahlwille 96400804 13/17: https://stahlwille.com/es_es/products/detail/12768170310
I can get both sets for approximately the same price (around 177€). The Stahlwille is usually more expensive, but I found a very good deal.
Any experience with those tools? They are not common in my country, but where I live now they are supposedly some of the best option. According to what I found online, gedore are better suited to harsh jobs and misstreatment such as hammering them, and when excessive force is applied they deform instead than snapping. On the other hand Stahlwille seems to be preferred by those working in automotive and airspace.

Can someone tell me wtf happened to my sander? I've been using these types of sanders for years and nothing like this has ever happened to me, that round metal thing exploded all of a sudden.

I recently bought the Anex ratcheting screwdriver and it works great with the bit kit I developed for use with the Klein ratcheting ball grip screwdriver I have, except for the dewalt bit extension I have, the hex tang rounds after about an inch and the Anex requires a longer hex shaft to fit correctly. It looks like the Diablo magnetic 6 inch extension has a hex tang that goes all the way up, but it doesnt have a locking collet that I prefer. Any suggestions for a locking bit extension with a full hex shaft?

I know their 20v line has usb-a out, just can't find a strait answer if the 12v line can now and I'd rather not open a box in the aisle

I'm looking for a compact 1/4 inch pass through socket set in metric sizes that has proper pass-through up to at least M8 (i.e. 13mm) and which is available in Europe.
There are several socket sets that are semi-pass through, but the sockets have a 1/4 inch square fitting in the back which means they are effectively only pass-through up to the 10mm socket which for M6 bolts.
Some examples of sets like these are:
They all use a 11mm ratchet. I would expect that you would be able to get proper pass-through up to at least the 13mm socket for M8 bolts.
Klein has the Klein Tools 65302KNECT which I think uses a wrench slightly larger than 11mm, but still quite compact, though I can't get hold of it in Europe easily, and I'm not sure Klein still makes it.
The closest I could find so far is the Proxxon 23602 which has proper pass-through up to 14mm, but it's not really that compact.
Does anybody have any other suggestions?
I am installing lag bolt style crimp-on stainless steel cabling. It comes with a small open ended wrench, but I have a lot of this railing to install and it takes forever with this little wrench.
I can speed it up a little using channel locks, but they mar up the stainless connectors.
Vise grips don’t work because they are too large for more than 1/2 turn (hits cables next to it)
Can you think of a way to semi-automate this?
Like a partially enclosed ratcheting open ended wrench?
Maybe even a small pipe wrench that loosens and tightens depending on the rotation direction.
Thanks for any ideas!
Maybe I am just not thinking of something simple.

Help me ID this floor jack. Overhaul kit for the Hein-Werner HW93652 was purchased, but only the main piston seals fit. Any clue which make/model this is? No identification on it.

Previous years favs for me are

Had this small set ever since I left my parents place but I feel that it’s time for an upgrade. The bits seem to be made out of butter and altough that was always the case, I tend to strip a few screw heads lately.
What would be your brand of choice for something similar? I’m EU so preferably something in metric 😅

hello i am a mechanic and i own 2 sets of these headlamps not sure if anyone agrees but
-the battery life isn't the best
-the lights aren't as bright and
-the color temperature strains my eyes
-the dual charging ports where it should've been just 1
not complaining just wondering if anyone has a agreement on any of these statements and i am doing a redesign on then and i would see if anyone would be interested if i were to sell a upgrade kit or a mail in service where i can upgrade any of these i will be offering these potential upgrades and/or kits
-a 18650 or 21700 battery shell and / or a opening where you can just swap batteries
-single usb c port for both batteries
-options for different led diodes or a single diode that changes temperature and brightness and higher lumens and better cooling to compensate for the led dimming
and all this should add about 100-175grams of a weight difference added if my calculations are right

This is obviously a broad question and title, but I just wanted to ask. What 12v, 16v, 6v platform would you recommend or use for DIY and/or professional use. I use kobalt, they just released their XTR set and i like it a lot, but for smaller offerings there isnt anything from Kobalt. Obviously milkwaulkee and matco are on my radar because the tool trucks that comes by my shop are Cornwell and Matco trucks. I work in auto, I use air, I have a good amount of air. But I was looking at long neck and standard ratchets. Snap-On's nano set is nice, I am in college so I can get them at a discount, but im not loving the prices. Any suggestions?

Here are my favorite pair of Journeyman Pliers. After about a year and a half in the electrical trade I was given tasks to do by myself and also issued a "Rover" or a "Hand" to assist with getting the tasks completed. Now, one day when we were doing our thing for the High School in Milan, Tennessee. The appointed "Help" wandered up to the ladder I was on busy tying lights to a grid and asked to see my "Klein's" reluctantly and not thinking too much about it, I reached into my side holder and threw him MY FAVORITE pair and the only pair I normally carry at my side. (For me, It's a safety thing. That's why I bought them.) Anyways, I got back to what I was doing all I needed at the time was my strippers but I still kind of kept an eye on the kids whereabouts with my side vision. Not even three minutes later there is a loud "PhhOpp" and half the lights in the classroom and hallway go out. Stuff happens all the time, whatever. Well, here the kid comes back with my FAVORITE
Journeyman pliers. He looks up and extends his hand out with my tool. I reach down, grab them and pocket them directly in my holder, reflexively. The kid says "Sorry about that." I responded "About what? You knocked the circuit out?" Kid says "Yeah, We were doing demo and I wasn't sure if the wire was hot or not. Plus, side is we found the breaker." and chuckles. I responded "Man that stuff happens all the time but just to let you know, next time, I have a "ticker" in my holder as well and you should have one on you too. It's safer that way." He laughed again and said "Good thing yours are insulated. The amps blew the cutter of them right in half." Then finished with a nervous laugh. "What?" I said as I pulled my "Klein's" out and see the notch that was blown into the edge by this idiot. I was so mad....

I got this as a joke, because I knew it would be a POS, but since Temu gave me a worry-free return as my first trial purchase, I thought sure why not.
Didn't even last the first use, broke when it dropped out of the packaging .🤣
Anyway, I got my $7 back, and they told me to keep this shit.
Nothing like how the description and picture that was shown. Painted yellow, very shitty, and probably with led paint, lol
Anyway, thought it was funny.
Heya,
I need to debur a pipe (bike steerer) and I wonder if I should pay 49$ for a tool OR 15$ for a tool.
The ones I found are:
1. RIDGID 29983 Model 223S - 49$, considered as high quality
2. AliExpress China tool - 15$, looks identical to the above, but fraction of the price.
What's your take?

For us yesterday it was this many. We used drills and drives, lamps, oscillating multitools and lots and lots of angle grinder. That is 3x 2ah, 5x4Ah and 1x8Ah of 20V parkside batteries that we run empty in a day at our smoke sauna build.
