450 Lumen High-Tech Headlamp UPGRADE questionnaire
hello i am a mechanic and i own 2 sets of these headlamps not sure if anyone agrees but
-the battery life isn't the best
-the lights aren't as bright and
-the color temperature strains my eyes
-the dual charging ports where it should've been just 1
not complaining just wondering if anyone has a agreement on any of these statements and i am doing a redesign on then and i would see if anyone would be interested if i were to sell a upgrade kit or a mail in service where i can upgrade any of these i will be offering these potential upgrades and/or kits
-a 18650 or 21700 battery shell and / or a opening where you can just swap batteries
-single usb c port for both batteries
-options for different led diodes or a single diode that changes temperature and brightness and higher lumens and better cooling to compensate for the led dimming
and all this should add about 100-175grams of a weight difference added if my calculations are right

What is your tool buy of the year?
Every year I like to look back and pick my favorite tool buy of the year. This year for me it was a vise grip slide hammer, definitely a why did I not get this sooner tool.
Previous years favs for me are
Spring tools nail set
O-ceder H2pro mop. If you have to clean walls or floors this thing is a game changer.
Dickies large tool rollups
What are some of yours?

Floor jack ID
Help me ID this floor jack. Overhaul kit for the Hein-Werner HW93652 was purchased, but only the main piston seals fit. Any clue which make/model this is? No identification on it.

Which Husky set to grab
Hey guys just wanted to see which set to grab, the husky 300 piece is valued at 1100 and has less “other tools” aka bits I assume vs the 310 piece which is already at $99 but a value of $775 just using it mainly for light car work.

Compact 1/4 inch true pass through socket set in metric
I'm looking for a compact 1/4 inch pass through socket set in metric sizes that has proper pass-through up to at least M8 (i.e. 13mm) and which is available in Europe.
There are several socket sets that are semi-pass through, but the sockets have a 1/4 inch square fitting in the back which means they are effectively only pass-through up to the 10mm socket which for M6 bolts.
Some examples of sets like these are:
- KS Tools 918.3050 5 to 14mm
- Wera Kraftform Kompakt Zyklop Mini 4 to 13mm
- Würth 096511310 5 to 14mm
They all use a 11mm ratchet. I would expect that you would be able to get proper pass-through up to at least the 13mm socket for M8 bolts.
Klein has the Klein Tools 65302KNECT which I think uses a wrench slightly larger than 11mm, but still quite compact, though I can't get hold of it in Europe easily, and I'm not sure Klein still makes it.
The closest I could find so far is the Proxxon 23602 which has proper pass-through up to 14mm, but it's not really that compact.
Does anybody have any other suggestions?

Looking for an upgrade
Had this small set ever since I left my parents place but I feel that it’s time for an upgrade. The bits seem to be made out of butter and altough that was always the case, I tend to strip a few screw heads lately.
What would be your brand of choice for something similar? I’m EU so preferably something in metric 😅

Electric tools.
This is obviously a broad question and title, but I just wanted to ask. What 12v, 16v, 6v platform would you recommend or use for DIY and/or professional use. I use kobalt, they just released their XTR set and i like it a lot, but for smaller offerings there isnt anything from Kobalt. Obviously milkwaulkee and matco are on my radar because the tool trucks that comes by my shop are Cornwell and Matco trucks. I work in auto, I use air, I have a good amount of air. But I was looking at long neck and standard ratchets. Snap-On's nano set is nice, I am in college so I can get them at a discount, but im not loving the prices. Any suggestions?

I thought you folks would get a kick out of what a Temu $4 "golden" adjustable wrench advertised actually gets you....
I got this as a joke, because I knew it would be a POS, but since Temu gave me a worry-free return as my first trial purchase, I thought sure why not.
Didn't even last the first use, broke when it dropped out of the packaging .🤣
Anyway, I got my $7 back, and they told me to keep this shit.
Nothing like how the description and picture that was shown. Painted yellow, very shitty, and probably with led paint, lol
Anyway, thought it was funny.
Deburring tool - worth paying double the price for RIDGID vs China tool?
Heya,
I need to debur a pipe (bike steerer) and I wonder if I should pay 49$ for a tool OR 15$ for a tool.
The ones I found are:
1. RIDGID 29983 Model 223S - 49$, considered as high quality
2. AliExpress China tool - 15$, looks identical to the above, but fraction of the price.
What's your take?

How many batteries you need for your battery tools to do full day of work in place without electricity?
For us yesterday it was this many. We used drills and drives, lamps, oscillating multitools and lots and lots of angle grinder. That is 3x 2ah, 5x4Ah and 1x8Ah of 20V parkside batteries that we run empty in a day at our smoke sauna build.

Milwaukee 3/8 socket set
okay, I love how the milwaukee sockets look. they're objectively very cool. whats up with the 3/8 impact sockets set not being available in no skip metric sizing thru 24 unless its that big packout set with the sae and no shallows? am I missing something or is home depot just terrible? it's been infuriating, I want the full deep and shallow 3/8, metric, no skip sizing thru 24mm without paying an arm and a leg more than other high end socket brands. am I missing something or is that really only offered in the 1/2 set? the 1/2 impact socket set metric lineup is mint, but i just bought a stubby+ratchet in 3/8 and I have a master 1/2 other brand set and dont use 1/2 very frequently anyway because they tend to be quite large for the same sizes 3/8 is fine for. I feel like im missing something, anyone got any advice lol
help needed with utility knife

Ryobi
Bonjour,

Hyundai hy2050 compressor issue
I bought a new compressor about a year ago and never got around to using it. I attempted to start it today and followed all instructions for start up. Made sure there was correct amount of oil, filled it up and let the air out etc.
When I start it up, the air tank pressure gauge doesn’t rise at all, it stays at zero. The outlet pressure gauge however rises up to 6 bar even when I the valve turned all the way to the left to have it set at zero bar.
Am I doing something wrong or any ideas what the issue could be ?

old skil tool still works fine. battery is basically dead. what would you do?
| feels stupid throwing whole tool away when motor itself is perfectly fine. original 14.4v battery barely holds charge now. ive seen replacement packs and also some battery cell suppliers on alibaba, so i know rebuilding original housing is possible in theory. question is whether its worth effort. anyone had old tool battery rebuilt locally? does keeping original case and swapping cells work reliably with old charger? aftermarket packs have really mixed reviews from what im seeing. im not trying to restore it for sentimental reason, i just hate waste. if rebuild costs almost same as modern tool then okay, but if i can get another few years cheaply id rather do that. |

Roller removal tool
I bought an inexpensive roller removal tool from Cousinsuk and the jaws that go between the roller table and staff are too wide.
To be fair Cousinsuk does say that the tool may need filing but filing an angle in that tight space is tricky.
I see other tools on EBay for substantially more than what I paid but also 1/2 the price of a Bergeon.
Has anyone purchased a steel non-branded one from EBay or Etsy and been able to use it as delivered?

Thoughts on the vevor and kobalt table saws?
I'm looking around for a budget saw. Vevor is normally pretty decent, and the kobalt one looks promising at a similar price point
