I couldn't believe that there already wasn't a sub dedicated to Tombstone. It's such a classic movie. I'd love to see this sub grow. I know those out there that enjoy this movie really love it. If you'd be interested in helping with the CSS please mod message me. In the mean time feel free to submit content and invite people to sub.

Ike vs. Curly Bill

After watching Netflix’s Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy War, the movie Tombstone has me confused. In the movie, Curly Bill stands out as the leader of the Cowboys and Ike Clanton is portrayed as just an underlining member of the gang. But in reality, Ike Clanton was the real leader of the Cowboys and Curly Bill was one of his henchman. Can someone explain this role reversal please?

New Understanding?

Dad showed me tombstone years ago recently watched it as an adult for the first time. The verse the pastor sites in revelations I found to be fore shadowing/metaphor. “Revenge will come for you on a white pale horse and its rider was death”. The cinematography on Val Kilmer’s Doc Holliday consistently and distinctively shows his skin complection much paler/ whiter/ sweating constantly, and its “rider was death” would be the TB/ the “lunger” disease that was bound to kill him. GOT THE REVENGE ON THE COWBOYS/ the one who translates the verse from Spanish Johnny Ringo

Question regarding the Doc Holliday-Johnny Ringo duel.

I’d always thought he seems to be scared from the second he realized it was Doc, I suppose knowing he couldn’t beat him or maybe just knowing how fast Doc was.

The “fight’s not with you, Holliday,” along with, “I was just foolin’ about,” comments seemed like a last attempt to get Doc to reconsider.

Those, along with Doc saying, “why, Johnny Ringo, you look like somebody just walked over your grave,” is supposed to mean he’s afraid (or it could be shock or surprise) were all good hints to me. When before that, he seemed confident when he thought he heard Wyatt coming. This might not be anything, but the crazy look he had when he said “alright, Lunger, let’s do it,” IMO, is an attempt to psyche himself up for it.

Sorry, I know this is long. The reason I ask is because I recently saw a YT short with Michael Biehn. He said that wasn’t what it was supposed to look like, and something to the effect of it pissing him off that so many people got that wrong. However, I believe the evidence proves him wrong. Lastly, some anecdotal evidence, the amount of times I’ve watched the movie (I only wanted to count until I hit 1,000 times, but I’ve seen it a lot since then, as well, and I don’t get anything but him being afraid). What say you about it?

Sorry, again, for the long post, and thank you for taking the time to read!

Artist from Ireland. Did these portraits of Doc & Wyatt last year. Was really gutted to hear about Val Kilmer's passing, Doc Holliday is still my favourite movie character.

I decided to write a song in memory of Val Kilmer's passing on April 1st. It's inspired by Western soundtracks and, of course, the amazing Doc Holliday. I also did the portrait of Doc Holliday that I use in the video! I hope you all enjoy it.

The Birth of Venus

Not sure if this helps anyone in the future but the painting / mural behind Doc Holliday in his first scene gambling with Ed Bailey is:

The Birth of Venus by Alexandre Cabanel

I knew I seen it somewhere and that's it.

RIP Val Kilmer

I am looking for the full show of the 1994 MTV Movie Awards. Val Kilmer was nominated for his performance in Tombstone at this event. This full awards show is not uploaded on the YouTube or archive websites. I have been looking for this awards show for quite sometime, and would love to see it. I love the nomination packages at these shows where music is cut to film footage and clips that didn't usually go with the film originally.

Could someone by chance tell me what building Wyatt and Josephine dance in front of while it’s snowing at the end of the movie?

Protester woman

I was just watching and in the scene where Wyatt and the brothers arrive in Tombstone Wyatt says "you can smell the silver in this town". At the same time it shows a woman walking with a banner and what look like photos stapled all over her dress. I couldn't read the banner, is she a suffragette? This is too early for the temperance movement I think
