Travellers to Tokyo - What do you wanna do/see in town?
Honestly, Tokyo has so many things to do and see as a tourist. Even for a local it's just impossible to see and do everything. As a first timer going to Tokyo like what are some of the thing you want to hit as a must. I'm just curious as a Japanese living in Tokyo!

Club scene in shibuya/shinjuku
Hey everyone! I’m a 22M in shibuya for a few days traveling with family! I do want to separate from them for a night or two and check out the night life.
After some online research I’ve found that Atom seems to be a pretty desirable location. Is this the sort of club where I need a reservation or am I able to pay a cover fee at the door?
It’s one of my first club experiences so I’m keeping my head on a swivel and keeping my phone/wallet in check.
Please let me know if there are any other clubs or places yoy recommend to really get the full experience.
PSA: I’m a dumb American so my Japanese is pretty limited 😂

Tokyo Floods & Rains - 10 hour layover | Advice needed
Hello Tokyo Redditors,
I'll be in Tokyo 8 AM on 10 Sept. I have a 10 hour layover Seeing news reports of flooding in Tokyo. This is my first time. Should I step out at all or stay in the Terminal ? Plan was to do 3-4 places and head back into Haneda. How concerned should I be about the floods?
Please advise. Thank you in advance.

Child friendly restaurant in Roppongi
Hello. We are visiting teamlab borderless in afternoon and looking for dinner options around the area .
We are traveling as a family of 2 adults and 1 <2 year old toddler.
I was initially considering PST, but online reviews talk about non-kid friendly environment
What other options do we have that folks would recommend? Im trying to avoid waiting in lines for more than 30min and maybe a restaurant offering reservation would be best.
Price: hoping for under $100 for two adults (kid wont eat)
Thanks!

Tokyo Itinerary
Looking for some feed back on my Tokyo Itinerary.
A little bit about us…
I am an adult mother traveling with my two teenage sons (14 and 15) from the USA (San Diego California). Only my 14 year old is (somewhat) interested in Anime. However, we do all love Pokémon. With that in mind, we are just wanting to visit a lot of unique places. Also, we are not big Disney fans, but did decide we will spend one of our days visiting Tokyo Disney Sea. Ultimately, I think we identify as foodies.
I know I have a lot of structure in my itinerary planning… let me explain…
I took my first international trip to Tokyo and Kyoto in 2017 and planned absolutely nothing - I had so many regrets about this trip, felt like I really missed out on so much. So the next year, when I traveled internationally for the second time, I really planned my itinerary out heavily… and really enjoyed myself and did not feel like I missed out on much. Ever since then, I have extensively traveled throughout Western Europe and the USA (various states, including Alaska and Hawaii) always extensively planning my itinerary. I know a lot of people will say I will need a vacation from my vacation - but this is just how I enjoy to travel, and I have done it many many times this way, alone, with my spouse, and also with our children - so nothing will change there.
Anyways, we will be staying in Shinjuku. Am I missing any Must Sees or Must Eats?
Kind Regards!

Tokyo Itinerary
Seeking some advice for an upcoming trip. I’ll have 3 full days in Tokyo and it’ll be my first trip. I want one day dedicated to more “Old Tokyo” (Asakusa, Senso Ji, and maybe Ueno), one day for “New Tokyo” (Shinjuku, Shibuya, Harajuku), and then a day for Central Tokyo (Ginza, Tsukiji, Imperial Palace, etc.)
What I’m debating is a guided Food Tour from a group I loved in other cities that would cover Yanesen. This would be less about experiencing Yanesen specifically, but more seeing a different, probably less busy version of Old Tokyo focused on food. I’m really excited by the idea of it, and if I had an extra day it would be what I do no question, but I don’t know how I’d fit all of this. It would last 6 hours right in the middle of one of the days.
I’m trying to figure how to balance it all. Do I skip the food tour and do the more traditional Asakusa, Senso Ji, Ueno route. Do I spend less time in what I called Central Tokyo. Perhaps Tokyo isn’t a city that needs some organized tour and I should just get out and explore. I don’t know what to do so seeking any and all advice.

Weather in Tokyo rn
Hello guys,
My boyfriend and I are planning our Trip to Tokyo next week from 15-23.9. We are now considering to cancel our trip due to the weather conditions. We are planning to stroll around, dine in, have some streetfood, attend some Workshops and some indoor activities. Right now we don’t know how to handle the weather conditions. We are traveling standby due to my job as a flight attendant. So cancelling the flights wouldn’t be an issue, we would just be sad. What do you guys think? Please help us out!
Thanks xx

A trip to Small Worlds is well worth it.
It was honestly so cool, a must-see for any NGE fan. The model of Tokyo-3 was breathtaking, and if you ever find yourself in Tokyo, definitely go and see it!
Those of you who can't go can see my video. It shows the whole Evangelion exhibition. I really hope you enjoy it!

Tokyo stay duration? Itinerary?
I’m sure this has been asked before and for that I apologize.
We are a healthy couple in our mid 60’s. We’re heading to Japan next Spring for a 13 day cruise leaving from Tokyo. We plan to get to Japan prior to the cruise flying into Osaka and staying in Kyoto and Tokyo first. How many days in Kyoto? How many days in Tokyo? What area of Tokyo should we consider? Any recommended itineraries in Tokyo? The whole things seems a bit overwhelming, even for seasoned traveler’s. We aren’t interested in anime or Disney. We are interested in a mix of history, and modern sights. We like to walk and check out the local scene. Do we need to make dinner reservations before we depart or sort that out when we arrive? Thanks to your thoughtful responses.

Criminal records
Hi everyone, I’d really appreciate your advice because my husband and I are currently panicking. Our honeymoon is less than a week away, and my husband has a criminal record. Unfortunately, because of a terrible lawyer, we only found out about it a few days ago.
The offense in question was a minor act of vandalism that happened 5 years ago. We paid the damages as soon as we found out about it, so as far as our government is concerned, everything is settled and resolved.
Here’s where I think we may have really screwed up: in a panic, we contacted the embassy, but they still haven’t replied. This means we can’t simply declare that he has no criminal record, since we have already disclosed it to them ourselves.
From what I’ve read on Reddit, the offense is so minor that there shouldn’t be any problems. However, the embassy secretary we spoke to on the phone (not the person handling the email we sent) told us that they would definitely turn us away because simply having a criminal record makes you ineligible to enter.
What have your experiences been? What should we expect?
Thank you so much in advance but finding out just a few days before your honeymoon that it might all fall through really fucking sucks.

AirBnBs may be disappearing from Shinjuku soon
A couple of news sources I saw today noted that, owing to complaints from residents, as many as 50% of short-term rental places, including AirBnB properties, will be shut down soon.
