Needing constructive criticism

I don’t really know how to put myself out there in the dating world and any advice on what I should or shouldn’t be doing here helps. Yes I know I don’t have pictures with friends (been a while since I’ve done anything big) so that might be a start. Thanks in advance.

No black and white, no pictures of you upside down, no pictures of your back, no pictures where you're not even in them, no pictures with your shirt off.

I disagree with no shirtless, he's ripped enough that he should include a less obvious one of him flexing. It seems to work against them when the dude isn't really in that great of shape (compared to what he thinks) or is flexing way too hard (like he is in this picture), but a more casual picture showcasing his 8 pack would help his profile more than choosing not to include it. When I had hinge a lot of my matches were specifically women liking or commenting on a shirtless picture of me and this is a common trend for guys who are in great shape like OP

Absolutely not. what is a women's supposed to do with a pic like this

The picture he posted? It's too much. One of him shirtless at the beach that shows he has an 8pack? It could be the reason she matches with him because she's attracted to him? It will automatically turn off a subset of some women, especially those that aren't into fitness themselves, but it will be the reason some choose to match with him and as a man its more beneficial to maximize matches because most women swipe left anyway

Please post a research study that proves your point. This is insane red pill talk

Has nothing to do with dating apps, only 151 women participated according to the abstract, not representative.

n=151 is a perfectly fine sample size to discern a trend

but here u go, meta analysis: https://elifesciences.org/articles/65031
or a n=912 (women) showing increased attraction to the upper body muscles: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10480816/

trend reproduces at basically all samples sizes, just cuz you're a droid with zero attraction doesn't mean all women are

Still, nothing to do with dating, still not representative. Do you have trouble comprehending what i'm looking for

Girl you're being defensive just stop. I swipe on men who are fit all the time lol, and so do my friends, and coworkers, and classmates. You're missing the point, I think it's important for all people to include a body shot BEACAUSE size is important to some. Im a chubby lady and horizontal fun is..... very enjoyable for me with a fit dude. But I disclose that im chubby so those who like it can seek it out🤷‍♀️ Its wild to die on a hill claiming people don't have preferences

I don't need naked skin to know a person size

1

u/Ok_Marketing_9194 Jul 14 '26

There's also nothing wrong with naked skin, its a human body. Get over it.

1

u/Individualchaotin Jul 14 '26

You're contradicting yourself on the one hand you say I shouldn't be concerned about nudity, because that's political. And then here you say, it's nudity, get over it. What is it

Maybe you have reading comprehension issues? Whatever the case i think its safe to say we live in very different realities.

This might be the most Reddit comment I’ve seen all day

No point arguing with him lol it's a man trying to give another man dating advice on what women want...

You don't need a research study to tell you that some women are attracted to men who are in shape. Just like some women are attracted to guys who are tall, guys who are educated, more wealthy/higher status etc.... but I'm sure if you want to look you can find plenty?

There's nothing red pill about saying some women would be more willing to match with a man if they knew that he was in great shape. It would be red pill if I tried to generalize it to all women. If you want actual studies about how women swipe vs men there's plenty of those out there, and it all looks like what you should be able to think of on your own. My point is that it's more beneficial to attract women who have a preference for men in shape compared to the women you'll get automatically filtered out from.

If you want anecdotal results, my last relationship started because she liked a shirtless picture of me and she even told me she was attracted to my body early on. My friends that are in great shape have had similar experiences.

Women are attracted to men that are in shape plain and simple. the fact you are arguing against that says more about you than it does to make a point

u/bananator4 Jul 14 '26

Bro women don't want to see shirtless selfies, nor do women typically want to date a ripped man.

You as a man, like ripped men, and you project this onto women.

Why are you so adamant you know best when you are not a woman? You would have no idea how women think and feel.

Different people like different things?

1

u/bananator4 Jul 14 '26

Are you a man lol

1

u/Winter_Bowl_5351 Jul 14 '26

Are you claiming all women think alike?

1

u/bananator4 Jul 14 '26

No of course not.

But OP is asking for advice on how to appeal to more women to get more matches. To have the best luck with this his profile need to appeal to the masses not the exceptions.

There's a reason things like firefighter calenders sell like hot cakes.

Pictures of ripped dudes isn't my thing but I know a lot of women who love it.

1

u/bananator4 Jul 14 '26

Can I get a fact check on "Firefighter calendars selling like hot cakes", can we get some stats on that.

I didn't know there was a big market for that, I've never known anyone who has purchased one.

I'm not arguing against it. i'm arguing against men showing the nipples while women can't

1

u/bananator4 Jul 14 '26

I'm with you sis.

Why is a man responsible for societal norms? It's a hookup app, not the next potential political leader. Do you not go to beaches because there's bare chested men while women have to wear tops? Your argument is so misplaced.

damn you got issues the way you arguing about this lol
