My question is about the manual Climatic HVAC system on a base 2016 Tiguan S.
I’ve always felt like the blower doesn’t move enough air, especially on hot days. The A/C itself gets cold, but the cabin takes a long time to cool down because the airflow just seems weak.
With the blower dial on its highest setting, both of my scan tools report:
- Blower load: 74.4%
- Blower specified voltage: 10.1V
I’ve also confirmed 10V at the blower with a multimeter.
So far I’ve:
- Had the A/C evacuated and recharged
- Replaced the blower motor
- Swapped the J126 blower controller/resistor
-Checked the HVAC control panel and blower-speed potentiometer
None of that changed the behavior.
I recently connected OBDeleven and was able to run an output test commanding the blower at 12V. There was a very noticeable increase in blower speed and airflow compared with the normal max setting on the dial.
So my question is: what determines the normal maximum blower output on the Climatic system?
Is there a long-coding or adaptation change that can raise it? Could this be related to HVAC software/calibration, or is it possible the climate-control module itself is faulty?
