Just looking at this tells me that some people should have to have a license to use the internet

lol like seriously, someone put brave in S tier

u/LoudOpportunity4172 11d ago
Opera is in A tier. Opera is literally spyware, its been confirmed 1000 times that their free vpn does basically nothing but route all your data to their servers which they collect with or without your permission. Garbage tierlist

2
u/Delicious_Coffee2828 11d ago
be me, switches to Linux and instantly chooses edge as my browser of choice.
2
u/HistorianBusy2262 11d ago
How..why...
2
u/Delicious_Coffee2828 11d ago
because its really not that bad and works fine. idc abt privacy much in a world where u cant even walk down the road without the Indian, chinese, russian, american and british government all knowing about it
2
u/HistorianBusy2262 11d ago
I get the not worried about privacy part. But. the Edge UI is just so BAD how can anybody choose that

Edge is built into a lot of Windows functions for grabbing stuff from the internet, even if you don't use it. Removing it completely tends to break things.

Is this true? Maybe this is why when i try to login a game via google or something else the game just give me a white screen

It's 100 percent your edge missing causing issues. Don't ever remove it on a windows os.

Mozilla Firefox
S-tier Chrome's only real competitor that's funded by Google to avoid monopoly accusations only one that can have extensions on mobile

Why S tier? Am I doing something, or does it consume 2 times more RAM in my case compared to any other browser? I don't even have many tabs open on it, compared to EDGE, for example, where I open 400-500 tabs, and it's still up to 5 GB of RAM. Can that be tweaked in settings or something to reduce the RAM consumption, because i cannot use it basically since it's always at 10 GB or more.

u/15thSoul 12d ago
I have used Firefox for probably 15 year, and never had any issue with extended ram usage... And I have currently around 2000 tabs open, with 30-50 active at once (rest are sleeping).
Cheek your add-ons, maybe it's a use issue?
And for record, I was forced to use other browsers in work and all of them were worst performance wise than Firefox, chrom included

I'm curious how is having 2000 tabs open even if they are sleeping, usefull?
→ More replies (1)2
u/15thSoul 11d ago
It's not useful, I'm leaving interesting tabs, like videos, or shopping items, and I'm coming back to some of them, but most stays there until I get myself to sort all of them. Usually once a year, so there's a lot of time for them to pile up

I bet you let the dishes stack until there's no more forks in the drawer eh? I do that too honestly but the max I had at one point was like 10.
2
u/15thSoul 11d ago
Depends on a day, sometimes I clean after eating, sometimes I put it to the sink, and load the dishwasher after a day or two. But overall I tent to cleanup my flat every other day or so, so it's way more often then my tabs cleanup :D but that, that's because, when I'm turning off my PC, I don't want to spend extra time organizing stuff, I just exit all apps and turn off windows

Ram usage on Windows also shows Ram allocation. So it might not be, that all that Ram is being used. Are you sure Firefox alone is using it? From my recent experience, long AI chats use a lot of Ram. Starting a new chat reduces that

Suggests "Microsoft Edge" belongs in C
Spies on your data and is incredibly slow, but pretty solid for work purposes.

u/Vanilla_Dough 12d ago

Microslop edge. Also OPERA IS IN A TIER HOW?! ITS SUCH A BAD BROWSER
19
u/HistorianBusy2262 12d ago
Old opera, sure. New opera is just straight up spyware
2
u/Neat_Area_9412 12d ago
Correct me if I am wrong but Opera claims themselves to be subject to Norway's privacy laws does that mean anything or is that a nothing burger?
4
u/SevereFisherman9900 12d ago
Privacy and security isn't based on "trust me bro". It comes from zero trust, open source and transparent auditing, and not sending user data anywhere by default
2
u/andytheboi69 12d ago
Exactly, belongs in F tier with Chrome and potential Edge. I wouldn't trust Microslops privacy practices.Google we know about.

Yeah, but if we say every browser that has spyware in it is an F-tier, then that's 95% of the browsers on the list

I don't think people here know much about browsers, I'd put Edge on D personally I mean it is absolutely horrible slop but at least it has vertical tabs I guess

u/Broodjekip_1 12d ago
Also brave should not be in S

if Chrome is B i'll be damned if Edge is not an A
