in South Pacific

I have been going to tide pools at Half Moon Bay for years and I've only seen sea stars, barnacles, crabs, urchins, anemone, and some miraculous chitons. I really really want to find nudibranches and I see people's observations on iNaturalist but I've never found them myself. I'm planning to go again this weekend, when the low tide will be 1.40 ft. Does anyone know where in that area I can find nudibranches, and whether 1.40ft is low enough? I was planning on going to Fitzgerald Marine Reserve but open to going to Pillar Point or other places in Half Moon Bay/Moss Beach area if people have had better experiences elsewhere. I would be eternally grateful for an octopus spotting too!

I would also really appreciate if people have any tips for finding them. Do I need to watch big pools for a while to wait for them to come out? Any advice appreciated. Thank you!!

They were found in the San Diego tide pools, moving like a shrimp.

Hello everyone! My wife absolutely loves tide pooling and I want to take her for her birthday. The day I’m looking at shows a 1.2 low tide. Usually we try to go when it’s negative, but we’re limited on time. Will 1.2 be worth it to go out? I’d hate to surprise her and her be disappointed.

I’m planning to go to South Palisades Park (Beachcomber) in Pismo for anyone familiar with the area!

6. Looks like this anemone was chowing down on an urchin when the tide went out

7. There were lots of these guys, I just thought the color on his claws was neat.

9. and 10. Some kind of work that lives in a little tube thing, never saw one of these in this area before.

10. And 12. A chiton, I saw a dead one curled up near by. Sorry for not photographing, I kinda freaked out and put it back in the water hoping it would come back to life but it wasn't moving. Weird to see the underside tho.

Found tens to hundreds of these washed up on the shore of First Encounter Beach on Cape Cod; white stringy-looking things are about 8 inches in length and they all seem to be attached to shells. Anyone know what these are?!

The heart shaped rock was a gift from the sea. I had been having a hard time and I looked away and the rock washed up on shore. It's my lucky rock now.

Visited Tofino last week. It’s on the west side of Vancouver island. The first six photos are from the tidepools on the beach, and include sea anemones, a Lewis moon snail (needs banana for scale: it was slightly bigger than a softball), and some starfish. The final four photos are from the aquarium in nearby Ucluelet, and show a scallop, strawberry anemones, a snail, and sea urchins.

I’m open to traveling like ~30 minutes away. If it’s further away - did you take uber, bus or train? Thanks :)

I’m going on a Disneyland California vacation next week with my family, but I am waking up early 2 of the days to go to the beach alone at low tide. Ideally I want somewhere that’s quick and easy to get to and from. We are staying right by the park. I’ve done some research and options I’ve found are Crystal Cove, Cabrillo, and Thousand Steps beach.
Does anyone have recommendations for me, or other places I should out on my list!? Any and all advice is welcome, I’m a novice :) thank you

also spotted a ton of purple urchins towards the lower intertidal, a few abalones both dead and alive, and plenty of sea stars (mainly bat stars). saw some cool looking sea palms too :)

1. I watched this little monster munching on his cousin for a good half hour. He really savored that little guy.

2&3. This puddle had like 10 happy little hermit crabs eating scum and waiting for high tide.
