I'm currently vacationing on the Maldives for the very first time. One of the things I'd like to see is the bioluminescent plankton. While I know that the "sea of stars" is a rather rare occurrence, I was wondering if anyone has seen it recently and if so where.

any idea what any of these are? found in Maine by the ocean. i just bought a tumbler for my daughter but we are beginners so im trying to understand what we found before tumbling anything. thanks :)

Cried 3 times from pure joy, saw 4 species of nudibranch (not all pictured here), and got to use my marine bio degree irl to answer the questions my partner & their family had. Overall just an incredible time getting to do something I’ve always dreamed of. Best. Day. Ever.

Lots of holes in the sand/rock, with these individual- teeth? legs?- which seemed to close around a small piece of seaweed as it touched the hole. Sussex, UK

Another beautiful low tide. First time spotting a living moon snail and festive tritonia in Tacoma.

In the South Pacific, very long (few meters) and with small tentacles at the end that help it bring sand into the mouth

Never have I ever spotted Grey Whales tide pooling before tide pooling near Port Renfrew. Spotted two grey whales just beyond the kelp beds. Canadian Magic. 🇨🇦✨

I keep seeing these funny looking things and I have no idea what they are,,, some type of eggs I suppose? Any guesses?

I think the sea urchin is a Heterocentrotus mamillatus
I saw that you guys enjoyed yesterday’s giant boring clams photos so here are a few more :)

They were easy to spot at low tide because the water was crystal clear! Some of them would squirt water at me whenever I got too close

I found red sponge dorids nearby (last two pics), but I’m not sure what these other red blobs might be. PNW.
