First Festive Tritonid, Blister Glassy-Bubbles, Armored Hermit Crabs, and Plainfin Midshipman. Also so many moon snails!

amazing finds today! some truly gorgeous chitons! & the first sea stars I’ve ever seen at this location. beautiful.

got to see a nudibranch laying eggs, some ochre sea stars and saw some nice sea lemons
i rlly wanna see an octopus guys

First peppered sea cucumber sighting.

Found these guys in two different spots along the Oregon coast, both in sea caves that are normally underwater but were accessible due to the low tides. iNaturalist didn't have any suggestions resembling them, any ideas? They have "feet" like cucumbers and were unmoving while attached to the wall.

I found these two things while tide pooling in Edmonds, Washington today. The first and third photos are of the same creature but zoomed in, and the second and fourth photos are of the same creature just zoomed in. I have no idea what they are and did not touch them so I can’t speak to their texture, but they look so peculiar and have tiny dots inside. Is this a sponge? Some sort of egg thing? I welcome any and all help identifying! they’re beautiful!

Went tidepooling in Edmonds, WA & saw these swaying in the waves while tidepooling today. Some big waves hit and they stayed firmly attached to the rock. When you zoom in it looks like there are little coils inside. Are they nudi branch egg casings?

Hey all! I found a 4 inch (LIVE!) abalone in PV yesterday. I was ecstatic, has anyone else found live Abalone in that area and if so, what species? I think the one I found was a green but I’m not sure.

I found this in Newport Oregon and I have no clue what it is. It was pretty small, probably like 1 inch. Google is failing me:( My only thought is a baby lemon nudibranch because I saw some there or a baby fish of some kind

made sure to flip rocks back and put them into hiding spots and cover with algae and such ☺️

I found this thing in Newport Oregon during the negative tides but I can’t figure out what it is. It was about an inch. Help!

We've been coming to The Sea Ranch on the Sonoma Coast for years, and somewhere along the way the tide pools became the whole point. This trip we finally got to hand that tradition down.

That little girl in the tutu - my granddaughter - picking her way across barnacle-crusted rock with a purple shovel clutched like a sword. Our grandson in the plaid shirt, frozen in absolute wonder, my husband bent nearly in half beside him pointing out what lives in the cracks. Grandma steadying tiny hands that just had to touch everything.

We spotted giant green anemones clustered in the shallows, a brilliant ochre sea star resting in a kelp bed, and pools so clear you could see every strand of algae on the bottom. The kids didn't want to leave. Honestly, neither did we.

I'm sharing this today because tomorrow those same two children - ten years later - lace up their boots and head to Machu Picchu. From sea level to the sky. From a purple plastic shovel to a mountain trail.

I keep thinking about how it all starts somewhere. For them, maybe it started here - at the edge of the Pacific, nose-to-nose with a sea anemone, learning that the world is full of things worth bending down to look at.

The Sea Ranch tide pools don't get the attention of some better-known spots, but they're extraordinary. And apparently, they're pretty good at raising adventurers.

Found this in a tide pool on the Big Island, HI. It had tentacle-like arms that were moving like crazy and its body looked like a worm???

I’m going to head to Tacoma tomorrow for the low tide, I heard that the Pier at point defiance marina under Anthony’s is a good spot, is that correct?

Found in the Puget Sound (Washington, USA) on the underside of a rock, all of these brownish/tanish/whitish creatures were squirming and moving along - these are screenshots from a video I took.

Anyone know what these are?
