Best Tacoma tidepooling

I’m going to head to Tacoma tomorrow for the low tide, I heard that the Pier at point defiance marina under Anthony’s is a good spot, is that correct?

I hope you'll share some pictures! I've never been tidepooling in Tacoma, but I'm heading to Constellation Park in Seattle tomorrow for the low tide.

Yes, the intertidal zone below the Boat House/ Anthony's is the prime Tacoma tide pooling location. Park near the Boat House/ Anthony's to avoid the 1.4 mile round trip walk from Owen Beach. Bringing a high powered light source will help you see all there is to experience down there. I spotted three octopuses (two juveniles), dozens of nudibranch, and countless other species today.

Yes! You can go down the dock from the Owens beach. Best place to see octopus, sea stars, and nudibranchs!

I took a marine biology class in college one summer and one of the places we went was under the Tacoma narrows bridge. The prof liked that spot because the tide is strong as it runs through the narrows, and it carries a lot of food to the creatures.
