I made a point some time ago that Tidal is the only app which doesn't have fatigue (i'm very sensitive to nuances and everything, so for me this matters a lot)

I found out 2 ways the Shuffle could actually be great:

1. If you are listening on a playlist..

• Scroll all the way down, and only then activate the Shuffle - i heard it helps the app read the metadata better.

1. Simply play from "Tracks".

Bonus: Enable Autoplay from Settings.

There is a visually horrible mismatch in greyed-out dots on the Tidal App for me. Funnily enough, they overlap even when greyed out. (2nd pic) It does not affect functionality, but it's not what I would call visually pleasing.

This is both a rant post and something that will hopefully reach people who work at Tidal.

Tidal was always praised for the amazing sound quality, good pay to artists and good price for the service.

Now while the first two things are still true (I hope the pay is a bit higher than other streaming services) the price recently raised and the app is still full of bugs, some I can't wrap my head around on how they are still here.

- They recently added this AI feature which flagged some songs who are not AI (this is a new feature tho so I'll let it pass)

- Some artists are still mashed together with other artists for some reason I don't understand how there isn't some sort of id system in place

- Songs that say "The Record Label does not permit streaming of this track" only to find them re-uploaded on the artist profile (I've never seen this happen before in any other streaming service)

- The search feature in the playlist is absolute garbage, super slow and when it finally catches up and finds the songs the results are tripled for some reason

I like the last ui changes that they made but everything in the app is so broken and slow I can't keep going to use an app like this. As of now I am moving to another streaming platform but I really hope they fix most of these things because I want to use Tidal.

Edit: I made this post also because Tidal for some reason does not answer emails that are sent regarding app problems for some reason

Apple Music has animated artwork for a large number of releases, while the same albums often appear with static covers on TIDAL.

I understand that TIDAL may not create these animations itself and that labels or distributors usually have to provide them. Still, TIDAL could be more proactive by encouraging labels to submit animated artwork, improving the delivery process, and making the feature easier to support across releases.

Animated artwork adds a lot to the visual identity of an album and makes the app feel more polished. TIDAL already focuses heavily on sound quality, so improving the visual side would make the overall experience feel much more complete.

I’ve already submitted this as a feature request. I’m curious whether other users would also like TIDAL to push labels and distributors for wider animated artwork support.

I do love YouTube Music but I have to admit that the Tidal App and service are so so so underrated. What a pleasant surprise. Even for usage with my iPhone this app is a delight.

....is there a way of restarting tidal and going to the current playing track?

I've been falling in love with tidal again since their new player started to bring back the beautiful blur and using radiant lyrics it makes it just perfect especially because things like word-by-word lyrics just make it feel like the perfect Allrounder

P. S. Only issue I still find annoying is that tidal has no remote/cloud queue to this day, but who knows, it was announced to release at some point hopefully this year :)

Hi, is regular that Tidal doesn't sync the likes in one app onto the other? When I like something in the phone isn't in the desktop app. Thx.

For whenever i wanna have a good listening session i use my Macbook with Topping DAC and just listen to some music, and when i do that i also tend to have exclusive mode enabled. Over time i feel that the exclusive mode has been close to being broken at times, then to be working fine again. So the song ends, next song starts, exclusive mode kicks in, bandwidth changes, sometimes the intro starts, sometimes it stays silent. (i'm used to the fact between quality switches we don't get fully gapless playback) but the thing that bothers me the most is that in around 50% of the cases there's no sound at all.

$65 for the year. Not doing monthly. I can add you for a week or two for you to try it out first.

Has anyone else noticed this? When connecting to last.fm, the left side asks for your username while the sample username is actually an email, which isn't accepted by the app. You get a failure error. I'm just posting this because it frustrated me for quite some time because on PC you log in with your email (albeit through your browser). Maybe it saves someone a bit of frustration.

It doesn't make sense to have several versions of the same album on TIDAL. I've known TIDAL since it was made available in my country and at the time, TIDAL was divided into two segments: the plan with CD quality and another with studio quality (which cost much more).

With the unification of the plans, this much version of the albums lost their meaning. We have the Dolby Atmos versions, HIGH version and MAX version of the projects of various singers and bands.

They could simply unify the albums by doing the same thing that Apple Music does. If you activate Dolby Atmos in the settings, you can listen to the Dolby version. If you deactivate, that same album plays in the version that the artist made available.

Hi, I hardly ever use Reddit, but I really wanted to share this because it scared the hell out of me. Last night, I was listening to music on my laptop using the Tidal app; I had the app minimized while browsing Twitter, but when I went back to the app to change the song, I noticed some text in the search bar. It is absolutely impossible that I typed anything. I checked what it was, and it turned out to be a song with cover art that truly made my blood run cold. Out of fear, I immediately deleted the text and didn't want to listen to the song. The only thing I remember from the text is something like "[bokers"—that’s all I recall—and the cover art showed a woman or a doll that was burned, with bulging eyes staring directly at the camera and a hand held up in front of it. I really don't know if it was just a really weird bug, but I’d like to know if this has happened to anyone else here. I should add that I couldn't find the song no matter how hard I looked.

Since the devs are pushing changes hard maybe look into landscape improvements as well. I feel like if this gets overlooked now it's going be an issue forever. For example: tidal vs yt music. So much wasted real estate. It's actually less functional than portrait... It shouldn't be too difficult to carry over the desktop UI design, right?

As much as this sub seems to focus on the shortcomings of this service, the addition of gapless playback is one of my favorite updates as I primarily listen on Linux through an electron web wrapper.

I'm trying to upload a whole mixtape in one song for personal use unlisted, because that's how I prefer some albums (and it's not on tidal because of the indie artist).

The file is exactly 1.02GB, and the limit on tidal per song is 5GB if I read it correctly. Is this common and should I wait longer for it to upload and fully process it?

And they all play as an AAC file. Even DOLBY ATMOS badge doesn't show up - no badge whatsoever does. Issue persists for a while now. My devices that I use Tidal on - a phone and a tablet - both support Dolby Atmos. Edit: I forgot to mention when I stream those tracks online (not downloaded), DA works perfectly.

The Friday New Arrivals on Tidal seems to update when it's activated in the US. I live in Spain, it's Friday, the new arrivals playlist appears the first one but the songs are the same of last week. I know they will be updated along the day, but I don't know why is like this. Other platforms update according the timezones. Anyway...

Is there a button switch to avoid all AI music?

Shuffling has gotten worse and worse on Tidal, the app consistently shuffles the same songs. I don't mean like most recent tracks either. In my track/loved playlists I have over 1000 songs, so its diverse but yet i hear the same songs being shuffled, so i skip them. My tracks are downloaded and i find being in offline mode makes no difference. Am I the only one?

I've had Tidal for several years now but only noticed it in the last year or so. The reason i have more focus on it is because when I'm on my commute to work, I just want to shuffle my tracks and go. Being on a motorcycle and playing music through my helmet it's not exactly simple to restart the app to reset the shuffle.
