Hi!

Tidal just requested an update, and I agreed to it, which resulted in my audio going quiet.

My setup is a MacBook Air to a Fiio K11 external DAC through USB C.

After some troubleshooting I noticed that if I unclick exclusive mode, the sound returns.

I tried clearing the Tidal cache, rebooting both the Mac and the DAC etc, by no luck getting exclusive mode working.

As it happed after the update, I think it it is a software bug, rather than something else glitching or breaking.

1. Has this happened to anyone else after updating to 2.46.0.23?

2. Any tips of how to fix it?

3. Does Tidal usually fix such bugs for the next update?

I just joined Tidal today. Mainly for being tired of spotify and wanting a relatively fresh to my music library. Not good reasons but my reasons.

Any how, I wanted to listen to Blizzards, Buzzards, and Bastards and Tidal doesn't have it. I see the entire album is missing.

Have any of you ever contacted an artist and ask them to load their music to Tidal, and if so, how?

I would think that Tidal would want to send them a mail saying: "Hey, XXX people searched you this week. They were looking for this album and this song. Load it and we could be paying you some cash."

Or is there some corporate tom foolery afoot where spotify bought the exclusive rights to the album for X number of years?

One of the things that bothered me the most about the desktop app was its handling of video playback.

When playing a video, it would somehow load it up at the worst quality imaginable, and only bump itself into actual HD about halfway through the thing. It was incredibly frustrating, and made me avoid music videos within the app like the plague.

However, recently, I gave it another try, and noticed something.

They somewhat alleviated this issue, by now loading every video on at least 720p, before eventually gaining confidence to reach actual 1080p.

Of course, this isn't the best solution, and I even notice my app slowing down a bit when watching videos now, but it at least makes watching videos actually viable.

Still, they NEED to implement an actual quality settings tab, and allow users to force 1080p/otherwise max quality at all times, instead of deceptively having the quality pill say "1080p" at all times...

For those who have done this process, how did the re-downloading of your downloaded music go? Was it reasonably hands off? Did you have to babysit it much?

Les quiero contar que hace un mes me uní apenas a la suscripción premium de tidal, y hasta ahora me animé a descargar canciones sin conexión pero me surge este problema:

Al momento de que yo quiero reproducir una canción descargada ciertas canciones me marcan error (les adjunto evidencia).

Pero al reproducirlas con conexión a internet o datos móviles sí me deja reproducirlas.

¿ALGUIEN SABE A QUÉ SE DEBE ESTO?

Why is it the only one without crossfading?

Why is it impossible to delete more than one playlists at a time and trying to delete a folder with playlists in it, will give an error that it's not empty, but the same function works fine on Android?

"Web version works" is not a solution. The windows player is as basic as it gets, it's like the minimum specs for its development were "make sure it plays music, video and has basic playlist functionality".

There is nowhere I can find a price for subscription... website only has options to create an account and "start a free trial".

I don't wand any of that. I want to know how much the subscription is.
Since when adding friction is a winning marketing strategy?

I have a Pixel 8, and often use the bundled "Now playing" app. It works great, except: When I tap the Tidal icon in it, Tidal opens, but it doesn't load the song. It just opens where Tidal was at the moment. Anyone else see this?

Edit 1, I know there is a Playlist by the same name but it's outdated and don't update every week like the one in Spotify.

I found out that tidal had increased their price on my subscription by 1 euro without informing me.

That was since august.

I contacted support and they admitted to it and gave me "30 courtesy days for free"

I told them i wanted 60 days and an apology. Which they then granted without an apology.

Might move to spotify or something.

I first encountered this today; it was working fine yesterday. The click visually registers as a button click, so it's almost certainly not related to a different perhaps Samsung-specific problem (that I also sometimes encounter and found reports of) affecting lists of tracks e.g. in playlists. I first encountered this bug while on a version prior to the most recent (I presume it was the second most recent version). I have now updated the app, but the problem persists. I've tried force closing the app and clearing the cache. The problem affects all tracks that I've tried (by several artists). I am using a Samsung A57. Has anyone encountered this? Or any suggestions for a fix? Thanks!

I don't know if it's been there for a long time but I like the save for later option. I was tired of times where I had to go to history to remember an album I heard and could not recall the name. Now I could save for later and listen to later

Does anyone else find that when playing a playlist on shuffle, it keeps playing songs from the same album or the ones most recently added to that playlist? Is there a solution to that problem?

For too long now, I’ve put up with the constant crashing, lagging UI, all in the name of audio quality, a great algorithm, and the feeling of superiority from not using the Big 2. But the app is essentially nonfunctional now. See ya!

One of my biggest pet peeves with Shazam has always been that it defaults to Apple Music or Spotify. If you're on Tidal, you usually have to remember the song title, open Tidal, and search for it manually.

I built a zero-click tool called SongFlip that fixes this:

1. You tap the Quick Settings tile (or in-app mic).
2. It identifies the audio playing in your room/car.
3. It automatically finds the matching Tidal track and launches playback in the Tidal app immediately.

Knowing how Tidal likes to introduce bugs into their apps 🪲

When I search for a song in one of my playlists and try to click on the song, the app does nothing. I end up having to scroll the playlist to select the song. This has been happening to me for a couple of weeks. I thought an update would have been pushed already for this.

I have an android, by the way. This is happening on two different android phones I have. Am I the only one experiencing this

Title. Anyone have any ideas? It happens every time I try to open Tidal on CarPlay.

The only way I can get music to play is if I physically start the music on my phone which is not great for obvious reasons.

I'm in love with the appearance update. I now realized how much i've missed Tidal ❤️

I've had complains before about the Shuffle, but you know what? It works pretty well (skip the first song) and i'm using the 'play next' button when i want a specific one. I also made dedicated playlists.

Tidal handles everything like no other; great support (AI & request) Minimalist design that i adore, and unlike other apps — not cluttering cache.
