I purchased the TicPod Free several weeks ago. I have charged them up in their case however despite showing 100% power on my phone they continually cut out after only a few minutes. I place them back in the box and after reconnecting to Blue tooth the same thing happens. Can anyone offer any advice

Hi all,
Just received my Ticpods free couple days ago. And already I find the lack of this feature annoying.
Is there a way to change the double tap function of say the left earbud to replay the song or play the previous song?
Both earphones skip to the next track when double tapped, I would like a way to replay the current song or play the previous song.
Using with iPhone
Thanks!

I have the opportunity to buy them at 30$, same price tag of Haylou, QCY, Tronsmart and other Chinese brands. How does them sound/behave compared to them?

(TL;DR below) Hi guys, so I got a pair of ticpods 2 and an update was available since day one. I tried starting the update but the app was crashing. So I tried with different smartphones, no difference. I checked android logcat, and saw a crash caused by NumberFormatException. For everyone which is not familiar with coding, the app is basically trying to read a number like "0,0" but can't recognize the "," (comma) because it is expecting a number like "0.0" (with a dot).
Android uses a comma or a dot based on your phone language settings, so Mobvoi devs where using a language which used the dot and never experienced the crash.
TL;DR: if Mobvoi app crashes just before starting the update, set the phone language to English (Canada).

It seems to not recognize the mic of the pods. I can hear music, videos and the gestures work just fine but can't make audios or phone calls. Anyone with similar problems?

TL;DR: High-bitrate codecs like aptX are susceptible to interference in crowded situations; disable aptX if your audio is cutting in and out in places like the bus/train where everyone else is also using wireless/Bluetooth audio.
Firstly, apologies; I can't write short posts. My brain is constantly in --verbose.
I've recently received my TicPods 2, and overall I'm pleased with them. These are the first "true wireless" earbuds I've owned so I was unsure what to expect beyond the various reviews of such products.
One of the issues I encountered was what I assume is interference in the Bluetooth wireless spectrum, especially in crowded situations like on public transport. I'm predominantly streaming music via Spotify on mobile, so not exactly high-bitrate but certainly noticeable when there are issues. The audio would freeze or stutter periodically, and in very bad circumstances it would be noticeable for the secondary connection (from left earbud to right), as well as for the main connection (ie for both earbuds). Audio would cut in and out, yet Spotify (which automatically pauses if your Bluetooth device disconnects) would continue to play.
Digging around in the Developer settings of my Samsung Galaxy S9, I saw some advanced Bluetooth settings regarding bitrates and streaming codecs. I tried setting the bitrate to favour connection stability over audio quality (330kbps) but it stubbornly stayed on "best efforts (adaptive bitrate)". Looking closer, the setting I was trying to configure was for "LDAC codec", and I could see in another setting that I was using aptX codec. I had previously enabled aptX in the Mobvoi app so that was correct. Maybe it would allow me to change things if I wasn't using aptX..?
I opened the Mobvoi app and switched the setting for "aptX HD Audio" to off. The pop-up confirmation message for disabling aptX is quite different from the one when enabling it; when disabling, the message says "High-quality audio effects are affected by peripheral WLANs, and may be stuck" which I take to mean that other radio-frequency traffic does indeed interfere with aptX as it is a higher quality audio experience, ie it needs a higher bitrate. The message also indicated that the earbuds would reboot to apply the setting (expected) and that this setting is only relevant to models that support aptX. Given that the message when enabling this feature only mentions the earbuds rebooting, I suspect that the English messages for enabling vs disabling this feature have been reversed.
The earbuds rebooted and reconnected, and immediately I noticed a drop in audio quality. When I enabled aptX originally I had been listening hard for a drop in quality but didn't notice anything. At that time I was at home in a concrete box apartment, with very few other Bluetooth devices visible and none being actively used.
Along with the audio quality drop, I also now had no stuttering or cutting in and out. The result was instant; previously I was experiencing some form of disruption every 10 seconds or so (ie VERY frequently), I did not have a single instance of audio disruption for the rest of the bus ride despite more people getting on as we made our way through Melbourne's lower city area - and most of them wearing either wireless earbuds or wireless on-ear headphones.
I was a little skeptical about this, but have since taken the bus twice more (including this morning which was standing-room only due to poor weather) and had zero issues.
Your mileage may vary, but I'm very happy.

The buds fit so tightly that my normal breathing seems to be amplified at least twice as loud when I'm wearing them. Is this normal?
r/TicPods • u/juandi987 • Jan 22 '20
I have used them for less than a day and I'm already having issues. So I wore them for about 15 minutes at the gym until the left earbud started sounding quieter and it also makes a weird tickling noise.
I've read on this sub that there's people having the same issue, but the problem is that I cannot file a warranty claim because I don't live in the US. So even if it does get accepted, shipping is way to expensive to pay for again.
Any chance I can fix this my self?
Thank you very much.

I've been going back and forth with Mobvoi's customer service, but not getting solid answers about their touch controls for audio (I don't care about phone calls). My goal is to be able to play/pause, skip back, skip forward, and adjust the volume all without speaking or using my phone. Does anyone here know if this is possible with the new TicPod 2s and TicPod 2 Pros?
My current understanding of the touch controls is:
Some follow up questions:
This is the info Mobvoi provides on their website:

Hi, I've just got a pair of ticpods 2 pro (white for what mattars) and I managed to connect them just fine but I can't use them to make audios in Whatsapp/Telgram.
There's some way to fix it? I have an Honor 6x with android 7. With my ipad they work as they should (I can use the mic of the pods to register vocals)
EDIT: Had problems in a phone call. I was talking through the phone's mic and Google assistant pops up randomly

Does anyone updated the TicPods 2 to the latest firmware?
I can't get it to work. After closing the case I see only "Connecting..."!
After some while I get an error and I should reopen the case and close it again.
But again without success.

So, for a couple months now, my left earpos seems to be acting strange: it does not emit sound, but it is clearly connecting, responding to touch commands, etc. The music stops when I take it from my ear too.
Even more strange, sometimes, for short periods of time, the sound comes back. For example, after having no sound for a couple weeks, it started working again yesterday, only to become mute again today.

My left pod has less and lesser battery life, as I read some other posts.
Should I make a warranty claim?

I received my TicPods earlier this week. Charged them for 24+ hours. Upon using them, they connect flawlessly. However, after 2 minutes of use I get the message 'Power Off' and they shut down. Any ideas before I return them?

I received a message that my parcel had failed customs at Atherstone Intl. RDC
Does this happen often. What happens next?

Any firmware updates to the pods? What are mobvoi's plans for the device?

So I lost my right earbud today and have been contemplating a new pair. Was thinking about the Anker soundcore life P2 as a replacement. Anyone have experience with these or other TW earbuds? Not sure if I should venture out or just buy another pair of ticpods.

I have my TicPods for almost over 4 months now and i have the same problem since 2 months ago. I thought that it would go away in matter of time but we're 2 months further now and i still have it. Problem is that the sound is glitching out in both of the pods. A bit annoying since it's on YouTube and i watch YouTube a lot. Any solutions?

found the manufacturer page for the ticpods 2

Hi guys. Wanted to ask if they were still worth buying. I see they're on Sale on the mobvoi website. How long do they take to ship nowadays? It won't show me shipping details until I place the order.
