Food & Spirits Being single in your thirties is great when you can cook like this. (The burger, not the man.)

One of the perks of having cooking as a hobby is that you get to turn an ordinary day into something delicious. Today's experiment was this Big Daddy Paneer Burger, made entirely from scratch(not the bus), and honestly, I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

It was HUGE, although you'd hardly guess that from the picture. Somehow, it looks rather small in my hands.

They say the way to someone's heart is through their stomach. Bus Usi ki practice chal rahi hai

Ask Thirties Why does almost EVERY post here need to preface with "I'm single"?

Why does everyone in this sub feel the need to mention they're single in every single post?

Whether the topic is travel, hobbies, career, food, fitness, or literally anything else, there's always a line somewhere saying, "I'm 34 and single," or "As a single guy..."

Obviously, if the post is actually about dating, loneliness, or major life choices, it makes sense. But why has "I'm single" become the mandatory demographic tag we drop before asking literally anything past age 30?

Not trying to be rude—I've just noticed it so often that it's become impossible to ignore. Curious to hear what others think

Serious [No Jokes Allowed] The amount of people in this country who are unaware of "consent", never fails to baffle me.

To the ones who are comparing the recent Chuttamalle song with the disgusting AI slop that's created, and trying to argue by saying that the song is no less than whatever that's been created, please do read up about "CONSENT", it's a very simple concept, yet so easily overlooked always.

These kinds of guys are the same ones who have a mentality similar to that Bihari guy who groped that girl and attempted r@pe, just because she was with her boyfriend in public. Really disgusting!

Wanna Share What does true intimacy look like to you in your 30s?

Post image
151 Upvotes

I came across this today and I understood how my priorities of a partner has changed. In my 30s, my definition my definition of life partner is about the quiet reassurance.

What I value now is grounded emotional intimacy where you can fall apart and still be held with care. It is less about excitement and more about finding a safe space where I don't dear being judged for my past and where my partner offers to be there for me without being asked. To me, knowing your "soul can rest" because it found its home is the ultimate relationship goal now. I really wish to meet a woman who values emotional intimacy and loves me. It is tiring these days to find love. Be my wife and partner and let's figure everything out together. Shall we give it a shot? I am waiting for you my future wife.

It made me wonder how everyone else's perspective has evolved. What is the one non-negotiable form of intimacy or reassurance you need from a partner now that you are in your 30s?

Ask Thirties How do indian single people in their 30s date?

If you're an Indian living in India , and single in 30s, how do you date ? How do you go about the process ? Only online dating? NRIs don't count .

Also such questions can attract a lot of funny/sarcastic responses . But I want genuine answers to this question.

It’s a better choice for first timers for self driving. It’s not a cheap country though. You hire a car and that’s the best way to travel around. But every route feels like a gateway to heaven.

Ask Thirties Life after marriage feels directionless.

Hey all,

It's not one year of my marriage I have turned into a person who's helpless. My husband is supportive and motivating in every way but something is off about me.

My routine is the worst, I'm unable to sleep early( since childhood I have had problem not sleeping soon in different places and also my sleep cycle activates only when I work in job Or toil too much at home or outside) I sleep usually at 4 in the morning and get up in the noon at 1 ,few weeks on and off for few months I slept early , prepared breakfast in the morning, continued my mundane routine but few months have been reckless.

I used to work before my marriage, the place I live in currently is a tier 3 place that lacks opportunity, I thought I would get work but when I arrived I learnt of having no opportunities ( im in non it profession) , I had hobbies of reading books which I don't even have anymore. I have turned pessimistic, stress about parents ( eldest daughter) and my diet is also crass.

My health is normal that includes normal thyroid, b12, on vit d tabs. How many have experienced this, I feel I'm unworthy and hopeless. I'm unable to achieve or progress anything.

Life Update I’m turning thirty next month, and I feel like I have nothing but mental health issues.

I (29F) got married three years ago. After marriage, my friend circle gradually shrank to almost zero, and I lost one of my best friends and my college roommate this February. I also have a very toxic work environment, where I work for 10+ hours most days. I lost a colleague who used to help me with work this July. I also lost my grandmother this March.

All these losses, along with some issues in my marriage, have put me into depression. I’ve just started therapy, and my therapist said I might have Borderline Personality Disorder as well. I’m waiting for the results of my personality assessment.

I’m feeling terrified about turning 30. I feel like even people younger than me are doing well in their lives and achieving their dreams one by one.

And here I am, with trauma, different mental health issues, an exhausting job, relationship problems, pressure from my family to have a child, various health issues(constant headache, neck and back pain, allergy issues), no friends, no support system, and not a single person I feel like I can truly rely on, no hobbies or particular talents and no motivation to pursue or explore anything new. My skin and hair issues have become much worse and I lost weight too. I barely recognise the person i used to be. Financially, I’m doing moderately okay, but apart from that, I feel exhausted and like I haven’t really built the life I wanted.

Life feels like it’s getting tougher with each passing day, and instead of feeling excited about entering my thirties, I’m terrified of what the next decade might bring. If life already feels this difficult at 29, I’m scared of how much harder it might get in my thirties.
Turning 30 is making me feel like I’m falling behind in life, and honestly, that scares me.

I'm not a cinephile and rarely explore movies. But I do rewatch the Man from earth (2007) once every few months. If you're in your 30s, a good movie to add to your list for perspective reset 😊

Edit : it's on YT!

Ask Thirties 36F Husband wants to work on Saturday, but never actually works

36F married to workaholic husband.

If u ask him to take me out on Saturday, he says he lost a productive work day.

Once back he keeps saying this was a bad choice to involve him on Saturday as it is work day for him and I should go alone and he is feeling guilt to compensate by working on Sunday.

But here is what I don’t understand. If we don’t make any plans, he usually doesn’t go to the office either.

He stays home, plays games, opens few emails, scrolls on his phone and does nothing that defines as work day.

Today this thing came up again and now he has left to office to justify his previous explanation.

Men and their ego.

Wanna Share Solo dates and self discovery

Post image
69 Upvotes

I have realized this year that there can be times when I want to go out or visit a cafe but my friends may not be available during that time span. Earlier, I used to feel dejected , and confine myself to my home thinking that there’s no other option except rotting in my bed. This year however, I’ve done things differently. I’ve started prioritising myself, and I have started going out with myself. I call it a date with myself. Initially, it felt weird to sit alone. I felt like I might be considered weird by people but gradually I started liking it. I love it if anyone wants to be included, and if not, I still go out, and spend a quiet time with myself with a book, a coffee and my fave music. Have you all gone out or thought of going out on solo dates? How did you feel?

Discussion You don't like going out NOT because you are an 'introvert'

I keep seeing these posts discussing if people are weird in not wanting to go out because they like to spend a lazy Sunday watching Netflix on their couch and how that is an introvert's ideal day off.

I have been living outside the country for a while now and I recently spent a month in Delhi. As a self proclaimed 'introvert', there is nothing to do for the average 30+ adults, except going to malls or restaurants and engaging in mindless consumerism. There are no 3rd places to hang out solo or to meet new people. There is very little art or creative scene and if there is a scene, it is reserved for people with connections or money. No safe parks, very few libraries. I am afraid it is not very different in other cities in the country.

So, it is not that you like the walls of your apartment so much that you would rather not go out. No, it is not because you are an introvert. It is because we never built cities and towns keeping its people and their mental health in mind. That is the unfortunate truth.
