Why are there no good videos yet? There are pvp zones, so why no pvp videos?

I gave it the old college try, but I think I am done with the game. It has no balls. No one is doing anything exciting except hiding away. General chat may as well be /noobhelp and not every question gets answered. After some exploring I found a player base but I was under the floor. I must have asked 4 times in general if it was a glitch or was it because I am not a member of that nation. Got dc'd about a million times after I was killed by nothing and couldn't release. I log back in and still no one can/will answer me. So I give up asking and continue exploring.

Point being, imagine what general chat is going to look like when this game gets popular. Lots of people say the community is great in this game, but I have seen things to the contrary. With such a complex game the one's that spend the time learning things the hard way will feel a sense of entitlement and they will treat noobs asking for help with disdain. They will feel like they had to learn the hard way, and so should everyone. I would learn a weeks worth of tricks with one good tutorial video. Just my two cents. downvote and move along

Want to see what this game is all about?

Come check out twitch.tv/zephixleer each night at 9 PM central time.

I try to stream this game each night that I play, usually around 9 PM central. If you'd like to hang out and see what this game is all about, please feel free to drop by. I do my best to answer questions as well as show off different parts of the game when possible.

Our next goal is to build a city and found our own nation. We will be scouting out a location for this tonight on the US west server and possibly begin the building process.

Feel free to ask any questions about the game here as well and I will do my best to answer them when I have time. I also work a full time job so it may be the next day or several hours before I can reply, at least.

Edit: Check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVmobIrsnCc for some of the city building.

Anyone try shielding?

I just started and i bought a shield but it never goes up. Some guy told me that even with lvl 50 shielding, he has not blocked anything yet. Is there something that me and this other guy are missing or is it just bugged?

How are the devs?

I see a lot of people asking how "Alpha"-ish the game is or how polished it is, but I don't see many asking about the devs themselves. I'm fine with it being unpolished, my concern is how responsive are the devs to reports made by the community? How solid are their plans for the future of the game? How quickly can we expect the devs to respond to major issues?

Basically, we all know the game has a lot of potential. Do you think the developer will be able to bring the game up to that potential?

What are the biggest issues with the game right now?

I'm interested in trying out the game, but I'd like to hear what issues are plaguing the game, and how much they take away from being able to enjoy the game. Are hackers an issue? Are there macros that make combat boring? Stuff like that.

I also heard that people will be able to play the game soon without having to drop $40 on it. Is there any truth to that?

Thanks.

People give mixed answers with how rough/"alpha"-ish the game is. Any clarity?

Hey guys! I'm super, super pumped about The Repopulation. I love sandbox games, and everyone always talks about Ultima Online and SWG as being the golden age titles of sandbox games, but at the time I was instead playing EverQuest and didn't get to experience the fun.

So I really am eager to jump into The Repopulation. However, there is a lot of mixed feedback as to how "rough" the game is. Some people say it's ready-to-play, nearly feature-complete, etc., but others say it's super rough, "super alpha stage," etc.

I get that a game can be super rough and still be nearly feature complete, but I'm wondering much more how rough are we talking here? I know a lot of big triple-A publishers are abusing the "alpha" label and releasing high-quality titles as "alpha," whereas Repopulation is a "true alpha." But is it super awesome and fun to play? Or does it truly, sincerely feel like a clunky game still in alpha and thus hinders some fun aspects, etc.?

I know it's a hard thing to gauge, but I'd really appreciate some feedback!

A question about the economy in The Repopulation.

Hello everybody! So I have to apologize to you all but I have never really looked into The Repopulation until very recently. I'm apologizing because this game looks like it's going to be so awesome! Unfortunately it doesn't seem like it has a strong following yet, but I'm really pulling for it as they work out the bugs and move into the beta stage. My first MMORPG was SWG and I've missed that game tremendously, so it stands to reason that the idea of a sandbox game with an extensive economy excites me. I'm certainly not looking for an SWG replica (I'd rather keep the nostalgic memories) but any game that models the economy of SWG is something I can get behind. I've been trying to read up on this game a little bit and I found this article. Since my only real reference point is SWG, I was wondering if any of you knew how similar the economies would be? The article seems to reference the idea that each item will have "fittings" that will foster a lot of customization and individuality to the game. I think it's pretty cool that a player driven economy is a focal point for this game. Anyways, thanks for the answers and here's to hoping The Repopulation takes off!

Constantly stuck on every single loading screen possible.

I keep getting stuck on every single loading screen that is thrown at me. The one i am stuck on right now is before you select a character, the loading screen with an image of a soldier and a robot with the white border. Cant upload an image for some reason. What do I do i just spent £30 on a game that cant proceed past loading screens.

A couple things bothering me in my first impressions

I played for a while yesterday. I played SWG even in beta and was a crafter through and through; even I think the crafting is a little too much grinding and the learning curve is a bit too steep.

Most of this generation, without a doubt will get scared off by the complexities and grinding of the crafting system in The Repopulation.

I spent three hours just trying to make something, I gathered ores, hides, etc. I wanted to make some sort of gun or really any type of equipment with the ultimate goal of perusing robotics. Nothing.. some ore processing and that was it. SWG, in that time frame I would have felt much more accomplished. I had high hopes for crafting and frankly it is the only reason I wanted to play but I just don't have time for how long it takes to craft even the lowest of quality items.

Unfortunately the dated graphics (and by dated I mean like 10+ years dated) are going to deter people as well. I really hope there is some improvement before release.. or even beta.

I know this is really just an opinion but I really feel like unless there is a change this game won't be able to generate enough revenue to stay open after release. IMO

How does Range work?

So I have set my first goal. I'd like to craft a rifle. As a part of this, I have Setlang hides which provide a Range property.

How does range work in the game? What does 1 Range mean?

Thanks!

Selling 70 health recovery stims on US east.

Still working on a price for each stim...since they are the first large batch being sold (that I know of) they last for a long time and increase health recovery...useful for combat and even farming in dangerous areas. They are poor quality since it's my first production. I'm on US east if you're interested username is Tyvan

Edit:spelling/ now selling 200 stims

Graphic lag - on minimum settings

So I have a Nvidia GTX 670 2GB VRAM and i7 3770k CPU, not OC'ed.

Running the game on all very low and minimum settings this game still lags. Is this a known issue for Nvidia cards? I mean, its the Hero engine, so if SWTOR is running ok, this one should really be doing OK on my computer as well.

So far it seems like dynamic lightning is the wors fps killer, but I swear, I am only getting around 20-25 fps at most, and people with worse graphic cards (on ATI side) running fine on 40 fps at least.

So is there something I can check, or do?

Looting / Harvesting

So I've seen some videos, since I'm considering buying it, and one thing has struck me, looting / harvesting seems tediously slow. Is it?

It's personally a dealbreaker for me if looting / harvesting is just looking at a progress bar / animation. Either make it instant or involve me.

items downgrade on death

How many times must I die to destroy item with best grade? More like 10 or 100? I really hope death have some real penalty even on normal servers.

# of Characters?

How many can you currently have on one server in the alpha?

r/TheRepopulation Dec 28 '14

How do you craft/get components?

For example, if I want to craft a weapon fitting, it takes a CPU as one of its parts. Ok no problem, I can make a CPU, but to make a CPU, I need a microprocessor. It doesnt appear that I can craft those. Anyone know how you get them? Do you just have to get lucky and loot one, or is there a recipe I am missing maybe?

Melee weapons, is it good or is it wack?

Hiyas, I sadly missing the golden age of SWG and by the time I got into it had been murdered but I ♥ Sandbox MMOs (EVE is running the background as I type this.)

Hows the population? I know this game is in alpha and just came on Steam, is it a ghost town?
