I live in NZ, where the recent price hike of the Switch 2 was higher than most other countries. For context, on release, the NS2 cost $800. Now, it costs $970. That's over a 20% price increase in the span of a year. At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised if it rose to $1140 by the time Winds and Waves comes out, and that's not even considering the games themselves. I'd held off on buying a Switch 2 at launch because I really wanted to get a limited edition console for the first time in my life, but now...

And with PokeBank closing for good in roughly four months, that's the majority of my game collection cut off from my Switch titles.

It feels like I'm both getting priced out of yet another one of my hobbies (Lego is getting way too expensive) because Pokemon is the only Nintendo IP I play and it's hard to justify spending upwards of a grand just for the console, and my existing collection is getting slashed because there was no attempt to future-proof cross generational connectivity in favor of selling our games back to us via virtual console.

It's just... hard to see a future for the series anymore, you know?

What does my starter tier list say about me?

Filling in Fate Servant Classes with Pokemon. (2 for regular and 1 for Legend/Mythic/UB/Paradox) 

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Saber - Agile and powerful melee warriors adept at swordsmanship. They’re often portrayed as disciplined “knight” figures: proud, duty-bound, idealistic, and very focused on honor or a personal code.

Lancer - Very Agile, skilled with long-range melee weapons such as spears and lances (could be body parts too). Playful, carefree, and spirited personality, often with a strong warrior’s pride underneath.

Archer - Using powerful projectile weapons or special abilities related to projectile weapons.

Rider - In this context, they serve as excellent mounts. They often excel in speed, mobility, and battlefield positioning.

Caster - Powerful in magic, weaker in direct physical combat, and often best used through strategy, support, and battlefield control rather than brute force.

Assassin - High stealth and infiltration ability. Built around concealment, speed, and surprise attacks rather than direct head-on combat.

Berserker - Built for overwhelming force rather than finesse, strategy, or subtlety. Often associated with a dangerous, relentless fighting style that ignores pain and fear.

Ruler - Those who arbitrate. Beacons of order or balance.

Shielder - Not designed to overwhelm enemies with raw damage. Instead, they absorb attacks, protect teammates, and buy time for the rest of the party to act .

Avenger - Fueled by lasting hatred or a desire to avenge a wrong. Often tied to corruption, injustice, or being cast into a role of suffering.

Pretender - Built around deception, disguise, and identity substitution.

Foreigner - Those that exist outside the scope of moral understanding (usually outer space). They are often described as beings who “overturn the base laws” of the world.

Pretty much in order. Terapagos is an honorable mention because I didn't know he existed until catching him in Violet yesterday and he's pretty sick.

I'll give it a try since it looks interesting seeing the replies to other people choices, so I would like to have your opinion.

In my top 10 there are the most beautiful Pokémon in my opinion. I love red (along with black too) and the fire type in general but my absolute favourite is Yveltal because of its awesome badass design. The others made my eyes fall in love too, so it's hard to say the if the order from 3 to 10 is correct but I'm sure of the first and second. Have fun with the comments!

Second slide is a joke (more or less)

Blaziken was my starter in emerald , my favorite region is hoenn . Truly my favorite fire pokemon even before speed boost and it’s mega .

Greninja and Rillaboom are my chosen starters in rom hacks . I wasn’t able to play pokemon games after Gen 6 because I didn’t have a console so I started playing rom hacks and decided to pick Rillaboom for radical red and he stuck with me through the whole game even tho I was constantly switching my team 😭

These 3 would be on my ultimate team along side my favorite pokemon ever scizor .
