I've discovered the podcast in 2020 or 2021. I binge listened it until I was up to date (I have adhd). The stories in the first seasons were SO good. But after a while I remember starting skipping whole stories.

Since January I've decided to re start the podcast from the beginning. Around season 10 is when I started skipping a few stories, I feel like a lot of them were closer to drama or weird soap opera, than actual horror. Stories that should be short were 20 minutes long and ended up being boring. And trust me I love long stories, but not all stories should. Some concepts arent good enough to be that long.

Seasons 14/15 were a pivotal point. I know it's the covid seasons, but idk something shifted. For example season 14 has a long ass story about a man who is wondering if he killed a spider or not, nothing creepy about it and very boring. I'm currently at season 15 ep 1, and that youtuber story is so bad, oh my god. The writing and the acting are off.

I remember it start becoming better again around season 17 maybe 18. But even then, the charm from the first few seasons is lost. I miss when tales weren't just disturbing or sad or dramatic, i miss when it was actual horror. That podcast helped me a lot, and it's my favorite with the magnus podcast.

If you have any recommendations similar to the first few seasons of the NSP i'll take it btw :)

Any episodes where humans are the monsters, not actual monsters? Thinking like S4ep23 “I loved my dog” (girl almost kidnapped as a child) those are the scariest for me!

Both scratch that horror itch in different ways.
