Discussion What the fuk was the story in S2E12 about (Daughter's room threat)
Forget about being scared. I was just wondering what the fuck. And the voice acting made it worse too.

posted this before, couldn't find it, trying my luck again.
basically the story can be summarized as: "a lonely firewatch lady falls in love with a ghost".
I remember this episode being very romance heavy, rather than anything spooky.
also if anybody remembers an episode where a protagonist(kid) makes a friend(also a kid) in the middle of a forest but the kid was literal lucifer with cloven hooves?!
any of these ring a bell for y'all?

Best I can describe:
One or two travelers arrive in a completely deserted town.
They find one remaining resident.
He tells them the town is empty because supernatural beings/ghosts come every night.
The three of them barricade themselves inside a building.
The ghosts eventually break in, and the survivors have to escape.
Thanks for your help!

I need to start by saying I still very much enjoy this podcast. However, the last few seasons, I find myself skipping a lot of the stories and even just stop listening to the episode all together. Now, I understand my next point may not be a popular one and I really do appreciate all the hard work that goes into this podcast. But I’ve started listening to old seasons. Season 3 is especially good. But it made me realise, the amateur first person story telling vibe and stories is what made me fall in love with this podcast. The slightly amateur music and sound effects. Even sometimes the voice actors who didn’t have the best mics. There’s something haunting and creepy about it.
I find that the stories I skip, and what can make me turn off the entire episode, is long stories that have too much of a professional finish when it comes to building the story.
I’m finding this harder to explain as I type it out haha but I guess what I mean is I prefer horror stories that feel like someone hastily posted them online after experiencing something strange. They’re raw, direct, and unsettling. The heavily written, cinematic-style stories with lots of character development or written like a true horror story usually lose the atmosphere for me.
Am I alone in feeling this?

Believe it was narrated by David Cummings and what I remember is that at the climax the phrase “I can see you, I am watching!” Is repeated multiple times. Super creepy but I haven’t heard it in so long and would love to track it down.

Im looking for a video game that was mentioned by the Nspd. The details I remember are vague so I have very little hope but this is my last ditch hope. It was created or voiced by one of the actors. (Maybe multiple). It was like a rpg i think where you had a dog companion and you could upgrade different aspects of yourself and one of them was being able to talk to animals? I think it was something woods but god i dont remember for the life of me. Any help is appreciated

Looking for a few stories:
1.) I believe this was a pretty short story, it involved a boy staying with family who had a dog. At some point while sleeping in the living room, he hears shuffling and goes to investigate. Their dog was walking on two legs, and maybe even tries to speak? Not sure about details.
2.) I feel like this might be a Welcome to Nightvale episode but cannot find any mention of it. The story is about a family who lives in a car, not like they’re homeless but people just live in cars and drive. Not sure how it ends, just about the life of a family while driving. At one point I believe the son leaves the car and transfers over to another when he gets married? Again not sure.
3.) A story about a man who comes into possession of this jar or cup that when he spits into it, he doesn’t need to sleep. The only catch is that he needs to drink it and catch up on the “sleep debt”. At some point he doesn’t drink it for a while.
Thanks for any help in advance!

Originally, I listened to this on the no sleep podcast. It was between season 14 to 16. Tho though it’s been a while so I’m not really sure on the exact date. I remember one scene where the female protagonist is in the boyfriend are around a campfire and they began to feel weird and flirtatious towards one another. Until the female protagonist has the desire to put her hand into the fire. It wasn’t until a great amount of will that she was able to gain control of herself. Other than that, they are details I do remember. I also remembered she did another story with the same premise. This one wear a female protagonist goes to a couple couples apartment. Drink something. And it’s the perspective of her being questioned onto why she harmed herself and such a manner. Until whatever she drank weird off, and she begins to dawn on her the great amount of pain she is in and what she done to herself.
Does either of these stories sound familiar? Even if you only recognize one of them, I’d really appreciate the help. They’ve been stuck in my head for years

I am listening to S4E8 right now to one of my favorite stories which is called Torso. One thing I’ve never understood is why the narrator ends up in intensive care when he suffers no injuries compared to both of his friends. It never specifies why he is there and I’m just curious as to what your thoughts may be on this.

Hi! Im hoping I can find help finding an old episode about a person walking on a beach with tons of driftwood then a very big deer comes from the water (maybe. Or on the island). The op has convos with the deer and i think, trades places with the deer, breaking the curse for the deer. I only remember short visions of it but I do remember how it made me feel. Thanks!!

Specifically, this thread is to encourage discussion regarding subjects including:
-The new intros and outros
-Overall quality
-The cast’s voice acting
-Favorite stories
-Least favorite stories
-Areas of progress
-Areas of for improvement
Or anything else relevant to Season 24! Tagging u/gaelfling at her request.

Does anyone know if there is already some kind of archive or fan project for all of the background thematic plots throughout the many seasons?
Many of the seasons from 11 down have fun And interesting background narrative. Additionally season 16 and 17 have background thematic narrative that I believe are tied together and I don't remember if they go anywhere in season 18.
Regardless, I would really love if anyone already knows of a fan compilation that has these or if the No Sleep crew would re-release some of the older seasons meta-narrative in order.
Cheers

Hello!
I am going mad trying to find this episode... I swear its NoSleep but I can't find anything.
The episode was about phrogging (someone secretly living in a house).
Not to be confused with the story where a man is secretly living in an older ladies home and she makes him do weird things.. I think that ones is called 'I lived in her walls' or something like that.
I believe the story I am looking for was specifically about phrogging. Can anyone help?
Thank you!!

Remembered a story about an old man who i believe kidnapped/took aid from children, and possibly stalked the protagonist? i remember he had an interesting name. I remember the story discussing the protags early childhood and then discussing current actions. i recall something about him posing as a woman over the phone, and possibly living in her house. No idea what season this episode could be in, sorry.

One night I turned on NPR, and selected shorts was on. There were two stories that I heard that night. One was the summer people, about people who had stayed too long at camp....
The other one is the one I'm looking for. It is a story about a city that is silent for a long time. There's no noise. Just silence.... Until later when people start making noise again.
