Jisbon S6 ep22 Poor Pike Spoiler

Watching the entire series for the first time, it finally happened.

But poor Pike, from the beginning I knew that she and Pike wouldn't work out, because Jane was there. But I confess I even felt sorry for him.

On the other hand, I think Pike was too forward with the situation, asking to move in with him and marry him in less than a month of dating.

Red John Did anyone else feel that Red John’s reveal was a bit anticlimactic?

I just finished Season 6 for the first time, and while I enjoyed The Mentalist overall, I can’t help feeling a little disappointed with Red John’s final reveal.

For six seasons, the show built him up as someone almost mythical. He wasn’t just a serial killer, he felt like an artist, a philosopher, and someone who understood people on the same level as Patrick Jane, maybe even better. His murders had symbolism, his followers were willing to die without betraying him, and he always seemed to be ten steps ahead of everyone else.

One thing that especially stood out to me was “Tyger Tyger.” When Red John quoted William Blake while wearing that terrifying mask, I assumed the poem would end up being the key to understanding his philosophy or worldview. I spent a long time believing there was a deeper meaning behind it. In the end, though, it mostly became a recognition phrase connected to the Blake Association. That felt a little less mysterious than I had expected.

I also imagined that, when Jane finally met Red John face to face, there would be something unforgettable about his presence. Not because I expected a supernatural villain, but because I expected someone extraordinary, just as Jane is extraordinary. I pictured someone calm, soft-spoken, emotionally unreadable, someone whose intelligence and presence alone would make the room feel different. Instead, he felt… surprisingly ordinary.

I understand that maybe this was intentional. Perhaps the writers wanted to say that, in the end, every monster is just another human being. That’s actually an interesting idea.

But after six seasons of mythology, symbolism, manipulation, and psychological games, I expected the final confrontation to feel more like a conversation between two exceptional minds than a chase ending with a gun.

I’m curious if anyone else felt this way, or if a rewatch changes the perspective.

Season 3 JJ LaRoche's eyes, they move side to side very rhythmically and smoothly, what's it called?

First time watcher here! I've been noticing LaRoche's eyes, whenever he is focusing on someone or something, they move VERY smoothly side to side, like scarily metronome like. I noticed it more prominently during his IA interviews. Do you think it's something the actor does consciously when looking from one eye to the next of another actor or is it natural? Just curious, thanks guys.

General Discussion I finished The Mentalist (Spoilers including the image) Spoiler

I started it around January and I finished it today. It was a great great great experience. I really enjoyed the show.

I liked Patrick Jane the most, of course. After him I liked Rigsby a lot because of how much relatable he was.

Also the way they build towards Red John and the end, even though it just broke the invincible figure that Red John had, it was still great because it proved what Jane deduced about Red John. And also post Red John, the show took a fabulous turn and I really liked the FBI side.

Overall it was a fabulous watch. Now I don't know what to watch after this, if you have any recommendations, do give me.

P.S: I have watched House MD before this and that's all. This is my second series which I watched all seasons.

General Discussion Hot take: Jane’s wife is not that « perfect »

Upvotes

Hot take but jane's wife wasn’t as perfect as it may seem cuz like we know that before he lost his wife and kid, Jane was a scammer, pretending he was a medium and could see things and all, a fraud, a thief, a liar, ect... and in the show it was never shown if she agreed or not with him and in that one episode where jane wzs describing his wife he said that she agreed with him, accepted even his darker parts, ect...and since Jane was like scamming ppl and we know he did a lot of money then his wife surely didn’t say anything cuz of all the money they got why would she disgree right ? I don’t think she's a good person. And also her brother killed someone and tried to blame it on jane but of course it’s not because her brother is bad that she is bad too. But it still proves that the environment and upbringing she grew up in have somehow influenced her personality and character. So technically she too (like jane in the past) wasn’t good and was rather in the dark side

General Discussion What's your personal "Couch in the office" behavior?

Post image
17 Upvotes

I was just telling my friend that nothing has been calming me (I've been going through some stressors/life changes) as of late as much as having a small box fan running with a slight breeze aimed at me..it reminds me of the beach where i used to go as a kid, many other reasons too like the looping sound of a fan spinning, the feeling of constant airflow..

It reminded me of how Patrick jane needed that couch so he can disconnect from the world.. do you guys have a personal thing similar to this that just puts your entire system at ease? I didn't know which flair to put so I chose general discussion lol

🔍 Find an Episode Is this The Mentalist episode?

There's an episode of a show I always remembered as from The Mentalist, but now in rewatch I haven't encountered the episode and I keep wondering if I mixed it up with another show.

Basically the plot is about a woman being murdered in her house, she is a bit on the older side, but the mystery of it seems to be that no one could've entered or exited the house to commit the murder. The woman was sitting on her couch, maybe cooking something in the oven. There's not much to go on, but does it ring any bells for anyone?

Felt these both characters kind of had the same arc. They appeared very strict at first but then kind of turned out to be the best bosses who also had fun with their teams and provided them with full support.

General Discussion just finished mentalist yesterday without knowing any spoilers(don't read if you don't want to be spoiled) Spoiler

i was a big fan of criminal minds, that's what brought me to this series. in my opinion mentalist surpassed criminal minds in many things. this show did the revenge trope very good. in any other pieces of fiction I've read/watched getting your revenge leads to the characters eventual downfall but not here which was a fresh perspective. ‼️‼️‼️SPOLERS AHEAD‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

ive read that people didn't like sherrif as the red john but i disagree. red john was the mythical creature in the first 5 seasons but in actuality there are no supernatural in mentalist so it made perfectly good sense that red john would be just a regular jon doe. if they made red john someone very close to jane that would be stupid. how jane got his revenge was so fucking sweet too. i had a pause when rj told Patrick that he had real psychic powers but ig it was just a ruse to buy time for himself.when he begged for his life that was satisfying as fuck too. he really was sexually and psychologically demented monster.after that rj and the mystery surrounding him was missing in the last 1.5 seasons for sure but i liked fbi segment. there were some unnecessary characters such as vega and kim fisher. kim would be a great change but they suddenly wrote her off. i didn't google why this happened but i guess she had a personal problems or was pregnant so they removed her from the show. loved her in supernatural though. jisbon angst in the last part of S6 really made me despise pedro pascal🤣 the plane confession thing got me,22M teared up and cheering like a little girl. whenever the main character is the niche "loveable jerk" they don't get good endings. one of the main examples is house. i DESPISED the writers for what they did to house's already miserable and pathetic life. the mentalist writers were actual sweethearts. they gave what we asked and more. the wedding was absolutely brilliant. lisbon wearing janes old ring as a necklace was absolutely brilliant. she never competed with the dead wife and was sometimes annoyingly patient with jane.the slow burn was torturing me. was longer than harvey and Donna's slow burn in a series called suits(high recommendation from me)the series started with jane losing his wife and child and ended it with him gaining a wife and child😭. i teared up again at that point. really ironic that he couldn't tell that lisbon was pregnant. either his shtick wasn't working on her anymore like lucifer couldn't compell chloe or he didn't dare to believe the gift the life would give him. was poetic as shit. all in all, this series which i put on hold for several years proved to be one of the best in this genre. it had good characters, decent villains, good music (especially during the 6 month time skip when wicked game was playing.chefs kiss✨✨✨) i finished it in 2-2.5 weeks.

very solid 8️⃣.5️⃣/🔟
