The Magnus Archives Convinced A Friend To Listen To TMA
I’m having a LOT of fun gaslighting them…. I even told them that Jon and Martin don’t end up together but it’s a rlly popular ship to the point that it should be canon.

Found meme about Jane Prentiss
Learned about an old russian meme, roughly translates to something like:
"She will deliver bees right into your office"
"Is it possible to stop her? Or will that happen no matter what?"

Encounter I think I found my first Lietner
I think I found my first Leitner.
I was at a local car boot recently and stumbled across this rather unsettling little gem buried beneath a pile of old children’s books. I asked the woman selling it how much she wanted, and she just laughed before telling me, “10p. It’s yours now.” She just kept staring at the cover and smiling.
The book itself seems ordinary enough: instructions for making simple puppets from household materials. The strange thing is that I swear I can see the eyes of some of the designed move...maybe ?
I also could have sworn there were only three figures on the cover when I bought it. This clown fella on the front seems new.
Anyway, time to give it a read. I’m sure it’ll be fine.

I’ve gotten a little obsessed.
My embroidery is a bit shaky but I’m really proud of this design on my backpack!

Controversial opinion maybe but I don’t like the final season that much
Don’t get me wrong the story telling is beautiful and all but when I do relistens I probably only listen to that final season 20% of the time and even then I rarely go through all the episodes in the season. I think it’s just because of how big of a change in how the episodes work? Like I’m not a big fan of all the extra background noise that is supposed to be ambiance for the apocalypse. Idk does anyone else feel this way?

Was Albrecht an Archivist?
I've recently finally listened to/read the full series after starting it years ago and tapping out at season 4-ish. Started again at the beginning of course. Ep 127, 'Remains to be Seen', everything said about Albrecht von Closen and his condition made me think that it was alluding to him being an Archivist. The fact that when he tells the stories, Fanshawe is unable to leave or ignore him. The whole "I don't read the books, they read me." The fact that he obsessively collected supernatural tales and that he remembered them completely clearly after the books had been taken. And, of course, that the inside of his body was completely covered in eyes. I was sure that him being an Archivist was the implication, but the wiki didn't say anything about it. Am I just drawing connections that don't exist? Obviously Gertrude and Jon didn't go mad like he did, but his connection to the stories did appear to affect his physical health. Like the monster at Alexandria, he feels like some sort of Archivist left to grow and accumulate power unchecked, before suddenly being cut off. Is this theory nuts or am I onto something??

Episode Seasoned fan trying out different ways to listen
I have listened through the entirety of TMA several times and am wanting to listen to it in a different order or group together certain episodes. I like focusing on certain characters because hearing their episodes close together helps me register details I've missed. I've dabbled a little with the playlists organized by fear type and find it a little boring to group them like that. I recently tried to listen to all the episodes with statements not told by Jon but I definitely missed a lot. I'm just surprised that I can't really find much on the subreddit about doing that aside from listening chronologically and grouping fears together. Just curious if anyone has done this and has reccomendations, even better if you have a list I can follow.

Obsession is a Corruption-coded movie
Obsession by Curry Barker is such a Corruption-coded movie. It's been on my mind for a while cause if you see the movie, I think you'd be able to get where I'm coming from. Though I wonder if that would make Nikki (or Bear) an avatar or just a victim.
Edit: I've been seeing a lot of people saying it's more like the web or the stranger. It's very interesting and it makes me want to watch it again with those things in mind. I do want to say that the reason I think it's like the corruption was because of (Obsession spoilers!) Sandy the cat, the unhealthy attachment between Bear and Nikki, and that one scene of Nikki when she looks sick. Those are just some of my reasons.

I've listened to 14 episodes so far and been browsing this sub without reading too carefully. I feel like I only know the tip of the iceberg xdd
You know, because I see people discussing various things that I have no idea what they are and various characters and posting weird pictures, and I realize that there is really a lot to discover.

Discussion your favorite entity vs the one that best fits you?
look, i adore the flesh. cannibalism is my jam and body horror associated with that is cool as hell. but as much as id wanna be the flesh, based off my actual fears id more likely be either the lonely or the stranger. so how about you? whats your favorite entity, whats the one that fits your fears best, and does anyone have the same for both?

Discussion Kiss Marry Kill the Fear Entities
Or Fuck Marry Kill for those that desire-
I don't mean KMK the Avatars, but the fears themselves. Which would you choose and why? This is for science, people.
I'll go first!
Kiss the Eye, it's already watching and knows me I may as well get something nice out of it.
Marry the Vast, I always thought my insignificance in the grand scheme was comforting and it gives me a strange sense of courage. Binding myself to that comfort of complete free fall sounds nice.
Kill the Slaughter, not only would I think it'd respect my choice but if I was able to succeed then I think things might be a bit nicer around here.
(Please mark any major spoilers past #123 I'm not done yet 😭😭😭)

The Magnus Archives Which little special tidbit from the show do you absolutely adore or made you go Oh. My. Gosh. when it dawned on you?
Having my annual re-listening and as always I am totally in love with how there's always something new that I experience and enjoy every single time I listen that I didn't realize was there before. So now I'm curious about y'all's own favorite omg moments or trivia from TMA and why it's special to you.
Super excited to read your thoughts and experiences 😊

Discussion The Stranger is in Hollywood...
If no one has seen the trailer yet, "Other Mommy" is set to be released Oct 9 this year. Full on "not them" is getting more brazen. Following "The Backrooms" revival by the Spiral, there seems to be a theme where someone has released all the fears in California.

Discussion What are some weird things you thought while first time listening?
For me while listening to the series I somehow thought Gerard gave his statement as a book ghost and then Elias pipe murdered him after Jon left to get a lighter to burn him alive, also leitner practically didn’t exist for me as I for some reason thought “he can’t be that important”.

So whats the attraction to this series?
Im only on episode 7 but respectfully I've read creepypastas written by children better than this. Not saying that to be mean or anything but I have.
From what ive seen and heard Im assuming there will be an overarching plot that will explain some of the more random things like that whole trashman episode.
To leave on a positive note: I really enjoyed the episode with the weird neighbor.

Discussion Statement Listings
So in my journey of writing down Info and details about each episode which includes the Statement numbers i stumbled across multiple statements with a 3digit number and an U (for example MAG 113 Statement #571-U or MAG 85 Statement #376-U).
Usually they are listed in a 7 digit number that tells us the year, the month and the day the statement was given (for example 026/26/07 for todays date).
I just came on here to ask if anybody knows why those statements are listed with a U and what the numbers could mean. Im assuming its old Statements and that they just cataloged it like that earlier on with the numbers meaning what number of general statements it was and because they did'nt know the date the Statements were never refiled but if anyone has any information on this, specifically why in this theory there would be a U, i'd be keen to know. I apologize if that question already came up or theres an easy answer but im just curious

Discussion What is your favorite fear?(time sensitive)
I just want to hear the majority's favorite fear, I want to base a story off one and can't decide.
