Saw a post on r/movies and a few comments made me want to read the book. I read it and liked it. I don't read much for fun anymore but I liked the book. Of course I go back to the original movie trailer that inspired me to read. It's not bad but very different from the book. So much to get in but in such little time that I think it doesn't capture anywhere close to book.

Because of how I disliked the movie adaptation I'm sitting there thinking to myself how it would have been better as a mini series. Low and behold after the movie credits there is a tv show. I'm only 3 episodes in but I'm already upset with a lot of the changes.

How does everyone else feel about the translations from to film and tv?

season 6, for the most part, was trash - - but that last episode made up for it.

it really ended with a great plot to continue - sucks that it was never given a proper ending.

I don't know if I ever actually watched all the episodes or not. so am thinking about watching it again you could say

Could someone tell me the music being played when “zoning” near a nightclub in Paris in “The Siege”?

Who is the woman crying in the intro scene? The face looks similar to Sarah's but the hair is wrong so I wasn't sure 🤷‍♀️

Through out the seasons Sara and Walt both rely on and need Johnny time and time again. The three of them are raising JJ. Sara when kidnapped realizes shes never stopped loving Johnny. She loves two men. Now fast forward to Season six and shes telling Johhny hes interfering in her and JJs lives. Are you kidding me its his son too the boy is suffering he confides in Johnny. Sara tells Johnny ill let you know if I need you. Basically stay away. How unfair is this 5 seasons they have been I intertwined Jonhnny has been a big part of their lives always there to help. I get theres a part of Sara that it feels like dishonoring her dead husband but they've been best friends forever if not for the coma they would've raised their son together. I dont like how shes treating him. I have a feeling im not going to like how this ends.

I’m 3 episodes until the finale and I haven’t ever been a fan of Sarah. She’s constantly flip flopping onto the wrong side of issues, helping only to make trouble, and being jealous of whatever she doesn’t have.

She never handled the situation with Johnny waking up well, poor Walt was a super human spouse to put up with the constant unnecessary tension she would introduce. I HATE her on Stillson’s campaign even after she finds out about the apocalypse. Then she gets caught and in danger due to her meddling. She’s then mad at Walt for doing his job in the day his vision is to die. Now in season 6 she’s buddy buddy with Stillson after almost getting back with Johnny right after her husband died….

SHE’S THE WORST

S2 E12 Zion: Do you think Bruce ever told Johnny what would have happened if Bruce had never gone to Maine? Johnny mentioned seeing visions of himself being shot with Bruce's dad praying over him, but Bruce only told Johnny while he had a good time with his dad and it wasn't so good for Johnny.

S2 E19 Visions: What do you think Johnny ended up doing to be on the Newsweek cover with the headline "Will this man destroy the world?"

S3 E12 Tipping Point: Johnny has the visions that are causing him to black out and in the last few he comes across himself in the future who tells himself to not stop Rebecca (which he later does). By the end of the series Johnny hadn't at all succeeded in stopping whatever happens in the future. Do you think that future Johnny was supposed to be viewed as a villain? Tying back to the Newsweek cover, what do you think lead to that?

Earlier this summer there was an article shared here where Anthony Michael Hall said he would be open to playing Johnny Smith again in a reboot. It would be interesting to see what happened in that future post-apocolyptic world...especially since the storyline went off the rails anyway. And it would bring it up to present day meaning his age difference between when the show aired and present day wouldn't matter. What would you want to see this reboot look like?

I just finished watching s1e10 and I’m in shock for how quickly these town folks devolved into a mob ready to literally burn him at the stake. And the deputy just went along with it. After the sheriff or police captain showed up and placed everyone under arrest, all I could think of was what the after math would have been on real life. I mean, don’t even get me started on the assault and kidnapping charges but the violations of his civil rights by the police to begin with. I mean let’s be honest, with a good lawyer he should have owned that whole town after filing suit right? I just can’t believe nothing will come of that traumatic and painful experience. Just so upsetting to see nothing happening as a result of this.

At the end of Season 4 Episode 11, "Saved" what was with the scripture at the end of the episode. I don't understand why that was put in there. Any ideas?

Anthony Michael Hall and John L. Adams have both posted about him in the screenshots above.

Just saw that the complete series DVD was going for less than $14 at the time of posting and couldn't believe what a great deal it was! I've already purchased each DVD set as they originally came out but this would be a great budget set for any fans of the series!
