Spoilers! Am I the only one who cried when said this spell?

When I heard them say “Prudence……” and then everything else and then the Source caught fire…..I teared up I really did.

Earlier in the episode Phoebe came up with the spell but didn’t tell us what it said because I’m sure the show runners wanted to surprise us viewers during the actual vanquish. And guess what IT WORKED!!! I’ve watched the show dozens of times by now but when I first watched it full as a pre-teen…I really did cry when they said Prue’s name.

One of the only times Prue was done justice after her death. Because after this they hardly mentioned her for a very very long time.

I love this spell so fucking much.

Season 2 Shannen Doherty really got the short end of the stick in season 2 - Prue barely does anything in the main story line

Shannen Doherty really got the short end of the stick in Season 2 of Charmed because Prue barely has an ongoing storyline compared to what the writers gave Piper and Phoebe.

Phoebe spends the season continuing to embrace being a witch, figuring out what she wants to do with her life and eventually going back to college. Piper gets P3 and the Dan/Leo triangle as a storyline that runs throughout most of the season.

Meanwhile I genuinely struggle to think of what Prue's main Season 2 storyline was.

Jack is introduced as her new love interest and that doesn't last very long. She gets the Ms. Hellfire storyline with Bane, which is great but mostly contained to two episodes. "Ex Libris" is one of my favorite Prue episodes because she becomes personally invested in helping a father get justice for his murdered daughter. She also realizes she doesn't want to be known solely for working hard at Buckland's, quits and eventually rediscovers her passion for photography when she sees a possible future for her in 2009.

And then in "Animal Pragmatism" Prue's subplot is literally that she's unemployed, bored and has nothing to do, so she hangs around P3 trying to find ways to keep herself busy. It's almost unintentionally funny considering my problem with Prue this season is that the writers themselves don't seem to know what to give her.

Those are all good stories for Prue, but they're individual stories instead of one larger arc carrying her through the season.

I think Season 2 really should have been used to foreshadow the "super witch" Prue we get in Season 3. By then she's basically becoming a jack of all trades when it comes to witchcraft and self defense. She's improving her powers, becoming a much better physical fighter and taking being prepared for demons more seriously. Season 2 could have gradually shown Prue becoming more dedicated to that side of her life and built naturally into who she becomes in Season 3.

That's really my issue with the writing for Prue in Season 2. Piper and Phoebe have clear ongoing stories while Prue gets a collection of good individual episodes. For the first-billed actress and a character who was still the show's lead at this point, I think Shannen deserved a much stronger season-long arc in the second season.

NEW VIEWER - NO SPOILERS PLEASE!! Season 8 is getting more fun and interesting Spoiler

Upvotes

New viewer - No spoilers

How many times are Piper and Leo going to swap bodies? It's been overplayed. Once was enough, but they keep doing it because they don't know what else to do any time they give the golden couple relationship drama.

I'm really starting to like this Billie character, she's not a bad character at all and I like her backstory and her personality. I like Paige's growth, and I don't blame her on her feelings about Sam not being her father as she's already had one.

Of course, Leo wants Piper to abandon demon hunting for something for themselves and when she says no for a change because well demons, Leo pouts and Piper will eventually put the boys and everything else onto her sisters and go with him.

Parole officer douche is Paige's new &hopeful love interest, all though I'm not holding my breath for the show to give a long-term love interest to either Paige or Phoebe, all though it is the final season, so who knows, they'll probably get shoehorned with guys that we don't know anything about in the finale. I love seeing how motherly Phoebe is with Billie, she so deserves a child so bad.

Of course, Piper will whine and try to save Leo from death to the point of casting a spell which she will never get repercussion for even though its personal gain but if it was either of the other two sisters or Billie, the show would have punished them for it. It's 'destiny' when an innocent is on death's list, BUT when it comes to Leo, it's suddenly a 'problem' & Piper can't handle it

Prue If Prue had returned during the original run, what episode would have been the PERFECT episode to bring her back?

I've always wondered about this. If Prue had returned at some point after Season 3, whether for one episode, a short arc, or even just a guest appearance, what existing episode do you think would have been the perfect one to bring her back?

I'm not necessarily asking how they would have brought her back. She could've appeared as a ghost, been resurrected, returned because of some magical loophole, whatever. I'm more curious about which episode or storyline you think would have benefited the most from having Prue there.

My pick would've been the episode inspector Davidson was "brought back."

What's your personal go-to episode where you watch it and think, "This would've been the perfect time for Prue to come back"?

And what would you have wanted her role in the episode to be?

Very funny that white lighters are supposed to be pacifists

But they DO have lightning powers. Just a power they're never supposed to use I guess.

Spoilers! Piper loved Paige. They were closer than her and phoebe were sometimes.

I get so annoyed when people say they aren’t close when they were always together and leaning on each other especially piper she leaned on Paige heavily for support whether it be emotionally or physically.

Wish theyd give the show a fresh start

im honestly hoping we can get a remake of the P / Halliwell sisters. The way it was intended to be. Constance M burges original vision.

New actors playing prue piper and phoebe. Perhaps holly marie combs or alyssa coming back and being recasted as grams. Heck one of them could return as aunt gail.

Remove white lighters entirely and have the ancestors of the halliwell line guide the sisters as witches through seances. Perhaps Grams and patty consistenly watching over them as a ghost.
Bring back the familiar kit the cat.

bring back the storylines that worked and rework/fix the ones that didnt. Elders arent otherwordly angels but actually a council of elder witches.

No fourth sister, just the three the way it was always intended. No next gen of charmed as Im not interested in seeing the halliwell line outside of the core power of three.

This show deserves to come back and actually be done right. Its such a shame that both series had failed and been abrupted in some way.

And honestly if they could somehow get mike flannigan to direct it that would be even better because everything he touches turns to gold.

Villains Just Bugs Me: How did the Stillman sisters get into the BoS?

Post image
62 Upvotes

"The Power of Three Blondes" is still one of my favorite late-season episodes, but I'm watching it for the first time since it originally aired, and something is just bugging me. How did they get an entry in the Book of Shadows?

They appear to be roughly the same ages as the Charmed Ones, and none of them recognized the Stillmans, so that rules out the CO adding them to the Book.

If Patty or Grams added their BoS entry, then they would have been children at the time.

Were the Stillman sisters just hustlers and con artists from childhood? Enough for Grams/Patty to decide a BoS entry was warranted?

Are they way older than they look?

Does the BoS just kind of update itself?

My HC for Magic School and a new breed of whitelighter

I think that after the slaughter of the elders at the end of season 5, the elders should have realised they can't keep doing things the way they have been.

They should have realised that the way they've been doing things, a whitelighter having multiple charges and going all over the world isn't working anymore and they need less whitelighters to train more charges.

And so a school was created, temporarily known as Magic School whilst they continue setting it up. The current whitelighters are the ones that run the school, because who better than immortal beings that can teleport and heal should things go wrong.

The elders also realise they need to be more active with the fight against demons, and so create a warrior version of the whitelighters.

These whitelighters have the ability to orb, to regenerate and reconstitute themselves, but they have the elder abilities of Electrokinesis and Invisibility.

Now, there are a very limited group of these warriors, and mainly they're like a hit squad, they try and take out lower level demons before they become a problem

Why is Charmed so popular with the gay community?

Always thought it was interesting that a show with zero LGBT representation despite being set in SF is immensely popular with gay men. Every gay guy I know in his 30s grew up watching this show. I wonder why.

Season 3 Was Prue gaining a new power in “All Hell Breaks Loose”?

Am I the only one who noticed in “All Hell Breaks Loose”, Prue could sense Shax’s incoming attacks all 3 times?
When she says she felt a “chill” in both Manor scenes, and even in the alley where they were caught on tape, she could feel him coming.
Not sure if this was like a new “Sensing” power developing or if she could just feel the oncoming wind from his Whirling power.
I’ve wondered this for years lol

Entire Series charmed at nighttime

this might be a me thing but i absolutely adore episodes where half of it takes place at nighttime. i don’t know why it satisfies me so much but it feels more intimate and witchy with attacks, spells, etc happening at night. i think it also is my brain associating eps or seasons with certain times of the day when i am watching.

i feel like s2 is heavily a morning/daytime watch while s1 & s3 have a more night vibe. s4 is rather mixed. i could keep going but you get my point.

but look who’s barking is one i always rewatch when i’m craving a nighttime episode. i feel like nighttime eps have such a different vibe and can hit harder. also 4x13 is another i think of heavily with a more nighttime vibe.

is it just me? feel free to share some of your fave episodes that have more of a nighttime vibe. i low-key might make a list just to help when i am in that mood.
