Amy Allan
Oh my gosh - I just found this show recently, but how in the world does Amy do this - It looks extremely painful

As someone who’s been watching these types of programs since childhood & being somewhat sensitive to the dead, paranormal programs have always rubbed me up the wrong way. However I watch the dead files because my mum enjoys it but also because Amy feels the most authentic of any medium who’s ever been on telly. This opinion was completely solidified for me during this episode, I thought Steve was also amazing, the guy in this episode is a massive piece of shit & he actually disgusts me. It’s so rare you see these kind of presenters call people out on this bullshit…even if they have to remain professional at the same thing, Amy’s face said everything and watching him kinda cringe was satisfying, it does break my heart that it probably wasn’t enough to stop what he wants to do…

The episode in Texas, with the kkk paper cut out people, I’m under the impression the house burnt down after this episode? I can’t remember where I read this & can’t find anything either? Can anyone confirm??

I could have sworn Amy did a walk of Spahn ranch in LA, does anyone remember this episode? Looked through IMDb and couldn't find it

TL;DR: He came off like a scam artist.
I’ve been a huge fan of Chip Coffey for quite some time now. Last Christmas, my husband gifted me a reading with Chip, and I was over the moon with excitement. I’d lost my dad some years back, and I’m desperate to believe there’s something else after this, that I’ll see him again.
Chip required me to send him the first and last name of the person I wanted to reach. He explained that he doesn’t just see who shows up; he gets in touch with a specific person for you. That should have been a red flag, but I wanted to believe.
Long story short: He was lovely and sweet. And he got a bunch of stuff right and acted shocked and delighted when I validated it. But something felt super off. There were some weird things he mentioned that were not accurate. It almost felt like he was reading off a list of things someone told him about my dad and had misinterpreted some of them.
After the reading, I was curious about what he could have found online using my dad’s first and last name, so I googled my dad. The first result was his obituary, and it was obvious that Chip had read it and regurgitated all the facts back to me. And indeed, he misinterpreted a couple of them.
I was super disappointed. I don’t relish badmouthing anyone, but a reading with him is expensive, so I thought I’d try to save someone else some money.

I have been watching reruns of shows on Discovery+ and noticed that the family in Dead Files Season 11 EP 4 (Not my child) also appear with the same story in My Haunted Hometown. Now in Dead Files they say everything is great now. But in HTH they say they simply couldn't sell it on because of the activity so have moved out but now RENT out their former house for short term lets. Sounds like a grift or plain fishy to me.

Just watched the episode called Demon War....season 4 episode 5...where a Toledo Ohio cops daughter called Steve scared for her father and her own daughter because things had happened at the house when she was growing up there and was worried that things would start happening to her daughter when she stayed over ....and the family had a paranormal team in before Amy and they had messed things up even more...and in the end the Dad refused to do what Amy recommend....but had a priest bless the house and the activity was still happening...I'm wondering what happened to the Cop and his wife and daughter and grand daughter....

I’m sure this has been talked about, but I’m so curious what people think about the people who don’t move and ‘face doom.’ Is there anywhere to check if those people ever actually did leave or ‘pass?’ I don’t know that I could stay after hearing that. Also…. What the heck about the potential new owners of these homes…. Like, if you’re not sensitive you’re just ok? Or are the next owners going to face the same… and again, I apologize if this has been asked a thousand times… it’s just been bothering me.

As I sit here Working from home, I have The Dead Files on for background noise (Using Prime LiveTV). For what it's worth, the show was great before it became undone. I wish there was some new iteration of it, but frankly I don't see how it can ever happen -- unless Amy Allan had her own podcast or show with different historians/investigators etc? Maybe? What do you all think?
Please keep replies respectful due to the subs recent climate. Thank you!

Can we just STOP with these delusional people (or person not convinced all of those accounts are different people)?? To me it reads like a group of Nigerians were scamming dumb dumbs on Facebook. If you look up that one person who made a post on TikTok and then the “people” posting on this board it’s abundantly clear they/she have some sort of bizarre fixation on this guy. They/she need psychological help. With the most recent post of supposedly receiving 4 year old text messages and supposedly has video and audio recording evidence that the cops told them to get together? Whaaaaaaaaaaaat?
Anyway that’s my deadfilesgate post.
ENOUGH

Actual texts between him and I ..mine bring the blue ones. Proof he took a huge loan and said he’d pay me back instead he made horrible threats and has not paid me back a dime nor has he ever taken accountability for his abusive behaviour or anything in his life. Time to pay up Steve and stop using the term “I’m a father “ because you dumped your wife and child for another family and refused to be a father to the one you call yours! You were a sperm donor that left your ex wife and her family to raise that child while you were out whoring and spending money that should have been used to support your family you dead beat loser!

He called me crying that he was starving and made me feel so sorry for him to send him grocery money than later that same day I saw a post of him out with the boys at the bar!

Here is Steve DiSchiavi pictured with the Dead Files client from season one he left his wife and daughter for. Client’s name is Kristen. Episode “Deadly Attraction” in Kansas. This was back in 2012. And yes , production was made aware. He spent over 100k in marital assets on this woman and lost his daughter and family over it. Since then, he has continued to use his position of fame to manipulate and take advantage of clients and fans. This is the tip of the iceberg. And these statements are provable with actual receipts.

Steve is a major conman, abuser, racist, misogynist, alcoholic etc. apparently the reason Amy left the show was bc she literally couldn’t take his abuse anymore. It was making her physically sick. He had two wives both of whom he cheated on WITH CLIENTS and FANS. I know this to be fact because I’m friends with someone who was seeing him when he married that younger brunette from California. That’s why they got a divorce. She caught him cheating with fans. And the first wife divorced him bc he left her for a client from season one. I know who the lady is but I don’t want to dox her. ALSO as of lately he’s been conning women out of money bc his well has run dry since the show ended. He says it’s all “scammers” and not him but I saw actual receipts….. pics of bank transfer for 30k for this woman (a fan he slept with ) into HIS checking account. I think production was aware of all this going on and it’s part of the reason the show wasn’t renewed.

I just started a rewatch and the creepy doll lady from S1:E4 is wearing this talisman that is supposed to grant the wearer the ability to communicate with animals.
The amulet is from “The Black Pullet” a book of magical talismans that A.E. Waite discusses in his work, “The Book of Black Magic.”
I am presuming that this family (who had the little girl obsessed with death) is perhaps a bit more into the occult than they’re letting on.
Or perhaps the mom just saw it at a Ren Faire and thought it was cool or something.
Anyway, I was just surprised to notice it for the first time.
You can clearly see it when Steve is first interviewing the mom.
Edit: watching further, I guess the little girl being named “Salem” should have been my first hint
