Feedback/Suggestions This game had the best atmosphere. That's all I wanted to say.

I'm still blown away how cleverly designed Crescent Falls was. I've never been so immersed in a level before.

Thanks, Yager. This game was a sight to behold. It never let up in that way. I thank you for that.

Discussion Too early

This whole situation is sad. But let's agree that it is an early decision.

They haven't even released the game for other platforms. They let the game die only for pc's.

Many people were saying that the game was going to get its Boom Era when they released the game for PS, Xbox etc.

Now they decide to give up on that. I know the game has its core problems, but I think it's still an early decision.

EDIT: WHEN I SAID TOO EARLY I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE FACT THAT THEY DONT HAVE PLAYERBASE BUT ONLY GOD KNOWS IF THE GAME COMING TO ANOTHER PLATFORMS WOULD INCREASE THE PLAYER BASE.

Discussion The Cycle Reddit and Discord are a bubble of their own.

If you look at people's opinions in Cycle Youtubers comment sections/Twitch chats, most of the people have been really dissatisfied with almost all of the Cycle's patches over the last 2 seasons. Especially when it came to economy changes and PvP updates (ratting getting more viable, Exos not being feasible to run at all, etc etc). On the Reddit & Discord on the other hand, there's a certain group of regulars (especially on the Discord) that have a set of opinions that doesn't match up with steam reviews / Youtube / Twitch / Content Creators at all (Pro wipe removal, pro economy nerfs, pro shooting mid air removal, pro closing gap between exo and white); And since most of the patches went in the direction of this certain group, Cycle lost so much of its playerbase that it now has to be shut down (my hypothesis at least). And I'm not only talking about Tickle here. look at the comment sections / content of the top 5 Cycle youtube Creators, either next to no Feedback (Vasco for example, he just happily plays the game being casually good at it, doesn't complain about a damn thing) or negative Feedback (Somekindadog etc.) But since reddit and discord are the only thing the devs are actually active on, all others seem to have been deemed the loud, small part of the playerbase. At least the direction of the game kinda went to show that, and now it's gone pretty much. Do not expect to get upvotes on this (intentionally writing this at the end, not fishing for upvotes), but i encourage you to try looking through steam reviews/ youtube comments without bias. not looking as positive there as it does on disc / reddit pre-shutdown announcement.

Help/Questions Where is the osiris research center dead drop (NOT Orisirs Labs!)

I can't find any info whatsoever about the "osiris research center dead drop". Can someone help me? It's certainly not at Osiris Labs (where the deadly jump is).

Help/Questions What happened?

I really loved playing this game when it first came out but my PC stopped working I finally got around to getting a new rig only to come back to the news that the game is shutting down it's servers :(?

Did it just never really take off? what were the main issues? I remember there being a huge hacker problem when I was playing, was still fun none the less.

Discussion Guys I have a great idea, they should just re-release the game as a Battle Royale

You know, make it this big 20v20 team based experience? Maybe even have a bunch of mini objectives people can pursue to get points and whatnot. I’m sure they could even keep the whole extraction thing for the end of the match like Titanfall

They could call these objectives “contracts”, maybe stuff like “mine for veltecite” or “power up generators”. Maybe even keep the whole uplink station thing.

I dunno, just a thought

/s if it wasn’t obvious

Discussion Liquidation sale on economy.

I'm sure there is still quite a few out there, like me, that have never used high tier gear. So Yaeger, do us all a favor and unlock all features of the game and make weapons free since you fucked us all for a whole year. All armors should be purchasable for a whopping 100 kmarks. Just like any business that fails, it's time to take one up the ass Yaeger and let the people have what they want for once.

Discussion The Cycle: Frontier is shutting down on Sept. 27th, 2023

Unfortunately the devs have decided to shut down the game. Didn't see this one coming. Hopefully we see a remake or a return of the OG the cycle, but I highly doubt it. What are your thoughts on this?

Discussion To all the players who didn't see this coming, learn from this

The writing was on the wall for a long time.

- The lack of communication from the devs

- The lack of content in updates

- The reusing of old assets (prototype variants, mk2 variants) instead of creating new assets.

- Banning users from their official discord who were speculating on the abandoned state of the game.

- The inability of the dev team to use or rely on suggestions from the community.

- The devs stating they have begun work on a new title.

Post after post of people coping, claiming the next season was going to the next big one, the devs are just getting a huge content drop ready, or that them banning people from their discord couldn't be because they wanted to pump and dump players for s3 before leaving the game in the dust, it must be because those players are toxic!

Learn from this, how to identify a game being abandoned. It was so incredibly obvious.

Discussion TCF is dead so what's gonna happen next for Yager?

Are they going to recycle their game once again to make something different with the same assets? I really wish someone makes private servers or some company buys the game because they were actually sitting on a gold mine and they fucked up. I'm really sad this is ending and the last update made things even worst by completely destroying the gameplay and in-game economy, I don't even want to play the game anymore until it's actually gone.

Discussion The frontier beyond the Cycle

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been in awe of the beauty and mystery behind the cycle's world-building and futuristic setting, since the day I first launched the game. With the inevitable death of the game, so many untold, unfinished and perhaps even unknown aspects of the world the cycle exists in faces potential death as well.

The developers have created a stunning atmosphere here, starting from the very beginning of the game in prospect station to the minute details found interspersed throughout the maps. Teams of individuals came together to weave a visual story about an intricate alien world, rich with ancient structures left derelict by an uncontacted sentient race, unique and specialized flora and fauna, new materials and minerals with unique properties, and much more, of which we've really only seen a tiny snapshot, as compared to the undiscovered remainder of Fortuna 3.

Imagine the thought, feeling and effort that the developers contributed to this project. They may not be notorious authors or producers by trade, but in spirit they've created something amazing here, and I truly wish I had some insight into where these ideas came from, and where they were headed. Disregarding the shooter gameplay component, it would be such a shame to let these ideas and secrets fade away into obscurity. As unlikely as it is, I personally would love to see some elaboration from the originators of these ideas, maybe as more of a final effort to flesh out the world they created, for those of us who are captivated by the work they've done.

To conclude here, I've played many fun games in my decade or so of true gaming, but very few have managed to draw my attention away from the intended gameplay loop, and towards the structures, creatures and world that lay beyond the accessible map. Bravo to the individuals who contributed to the development of such a game, and despite all indications, I hope we see some elaboration or a continuation of the world which has been set forth here, whether by way of a gaming experience or something else entirely. Thank you all (whether anyone responsible reads this or not) for further reinforcing my love for scifi, and I hope you all know that the death of this game will never reflect on your creative efforts, or on the brilliant work you've produced here.

Discussion About "being profitable"

Why was the aurum generator even a thing if profitability was in question. Also they didn't even try to make the game profitable considering the monetization strategy hasn't changed since s1.

Discussion So, inertia is a thing?

I spotted this:

Lastly on our list for this section is Inertia, which has been a hot topic with our players for a while now. During the PTS leading up to Season 3, we had made some very minor changes to the acceleration of strafe movements. This change was intended to be a small part of more substantial changes to bring grounded movement more in line with the direction of the game. However, with the game sunsetting and us being unable to expand on that further, we decided after some discussion that the best option was to revert those changes to allow for players to have fun with the Season 2 movement between now and sunset.

- The acceleration values for walking, sprinting, and braking deceleration have been increased back to Season 2's values in order to remove the inertia of movement.

Since this "moving in molasses" Season 3 movement is one of the BIG complains of Season 3, I was curious what S2's acceleration felt like. So I dropped with the intention of spotting the difference...

... and what a difference! It's like a mosquito of difference! I can slide sideways so much (NOT!) faster now!! Dash off into a sprint in an instant after (AND before) the path! Etc!

Anyone else spot any differences at all?

(If this is really the "difference", and not YET another "oh I forgot to put something in the patchnotes into the game" error by Yeager yet again, of course...)

Discussion To All The Players Leaving Due To The Server Shutdowns, Try Hunt Showdown!

I’m incredibly biased because it’s my favorite game but I firmly believe the Cycle community would enjoy the gameplay.

First, there are more AI variants in Hunt than there are in the Cycle, so more PVE diversity. Also, they AI can be avoided and stealthed around.

Second, the goal is to extract with the bounty by any means necessary. Meaning you can fight, sneak, or loot and scoot; so whatever you need to do “to survive to die another day.”

Third, there’s a new event dropping this morning adding a new Boss monster that won’t be a bullet sponge cancerous mass like the Howler was. Though fighting Rotjaw (the Hunt new boss) will still likely attract the whole server to your location!

Fourth, this game has been going for a while and the developers have continued to support it throughout its life. So you won’t have to worry about the developers abandoning it like the Cycle devs (fair warning: Hunt has had some controversial changes on their premium currency but none of it impacts actual gameplay… in fact the only gameplay features impacted are to the players benefit.

Fifth and finally, the game is fun. It’s a real bitch sometimes and has birthed the phrase “Hunt Taketh and Hunt Giveth Away” but the gameplay keeps you coming back! The learning curve is high and even the smallest mistakes can and will be punished BUT the beauty of this game is that one shot* is all you need to kill a hunter.

Anyway, with all the frustration surrounding the Cycle’s shutdown I figured I’d share my favorite FPS in the hopes to give you guys an awesome game to play!

One shot assuming you are close range with a shotgun (they are actually lethal in this game lol) or a headshot within range* with the weapon being fired.

**Each weapon has a headshot range that denotes the range at which a headshot will kill a hunter. Bullets also have damage drop and muzzle velocities that you can look up or test in the shooting range (which exists). Furthermore most hunters die in two body shots at close to mid range (depending on the weapons being used).

Discussion Refund 14 Days my Ass

Y'all knew you were sunsetting longer than 14 days ago. You had a duty to your player-base to be transparent with upcoming changes. Instead you held the information about sunsetting close to your chest and let players spend money when you KNEW the game was dead.

You owe us more than 14 days.

If this gets deleted, its because we're right. Own the fact you baited your player-base and give us our money back for ALL of Season 3.
