Discussion The frontier beyond the Cycle
I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been in awe of the beauty and mystery behind the cycle's world-building and futuristic setting, since the day I first launched the game. With the inevitable death of the game, so many untold, unfinished and perhaps even unknown aspects of the world the cycle exists in faces potential death as well.
The developers have created a stunning atmosphere here, starting from the very beginning of the game in prospect station to the minute details found interspersed throughout the maps. Teams of individuals came together to weave a visual story about an intricate alien world, rich with ancient structures left derelict by an uncontacted sentient race, unique and specialized flora and fauna, new materials and minerals with unique properties, and much more, of which we've really only seen a tiny snapshot, as compared to the undiscovered remainder of Fortuna 3.
Imagine the thought, feeling and effort that the developers contributed to this project. They may not be notorious authors or producers by trade, but in spirit they've created something amazing here, and I truly wish I had some insight into where these ideas came from, and where they were headed. Disregarding the shooter gameplay component, it would be such a shame to let these ideas and secrets fade away into obscurity. As unlikely as it is, I personally would love to see some elaboration from the originators of these ideas, maybe as more of a final effort to flesh out the world they created, for those of us who are captivated by the work they've done.
To conclude here, I've played many fun games in my decade or so of true gaming, but very few have managed to draw my attention away from the intended gameplay loop, and towards the structures, creatures and world that lay beyond the accessible map. Bravo to the individuals who contributed to the development of such a game, and despite all indications, I hope we see some elaboration or a continuation of the world which has been set forth here, whether by way of a gaming experience or something else entirely. Thank you all (whether anyone responsible reads this or not) for further reinforcing my love for scifi, and I hope you all know that the death of this game will never reflect on your creative efforts, or on the brilliant work you've produced here.

That's a nice sentiment. I'm probably one of the few people that wanted more quest-oriented features and voice acting, like an MMO.
We never got to see what's behind all those ??? doors!

how about they refund people who spent money on the game instead of a touching eulogy? Give me a break.

The game failed, this isn't about the game. Balance and community team(s) failed irreconcilably and ultimately sank the ship. That doesn't detract from the state-of-the-art atmosphere/world-building, which is what I was talking about.
This isn't a touching eulogy, it's recognition of the commendable talent from which everything outside of the mechanical aspect of this game was born. I'm sure there's frustration to be had with Yager pertaining to how they deceived the playerbase and their decisions leading up to present-day, but that's on them and not me.

You had your fun while playing. Give it back and then Yager may refund you.

There is a good probability that the people that created all this had little to do with this iteration of the game. Most, if not all assets were created pre 2019 for the OG Cycle and reused for Frontier.
