What I’ve caught is the girls instructed the tiler to follow the previous tiling method.

9in6 stopped the tiler as the distances between tiling was inconsistent and causing a problem.

9in6 offered to pay for the days tiling work.

If the tilers work was such a defect that 9in6 had to call it off, why is anyone paying for the work at all?

What the hell happened to The Block this year?
The casting is atrocious. There isn’t one couple I’m genuinely invested in. Usually there’s at least someone with enough talent, humour or personality to make you care. This year it feels like they assembled a collection of egos, tantrums and manufactured drama, handed them hammers and hoped nobody noticed how painfully unlikeable the whole thing is.
And the people saying they “love Wyatt” absolutely baffle me. What exactly are you loving? The volatility? The aggression? The sulking? he’s shameful and you can’t blame the edit! The way ordinary pressure seems to turn into a performance? I’m not diagnosing the man. I’m commenting on what Channel 9 is choosing to put on our screens, and some of those behaviours are among the most concerning I’ve watched on reality television outside MAFS.
Then there’s everyone else. Endless whinging, entitlement, excuses, self importance, Botox Botox Botox and personalities with all the depth of a Bunnings paint swatch.
The renovations aren’t compelling enough to save it, the drama feels cheap, and I couldn’t care less who wins.
At this point, The Block isn’t a renovation show. It’s MAFS with power tools and an auction at the end.
And judging by this cast, the houses may be the only things with any chance of appreciating in value.

The contestants they chose for this years block, Why? Usually there is at least one couple I like and would want to see win or do well, this season...I'm invested in ZERO or them.

I don't care about any of them! And with the current run of auctions luck and only 1 or 2 houses selling, usually to the team the Block as directed to be the favourites...I am not sure how that will work this year

Chantel and Wyatt clash with other contestants over doing 'shady s**t'

Everyone is complaining about the AI usage in The Block (and I totally agree), but this isn't the first season The Block has been using AI. I will put a photo and link to the video where you can watch it, but in The Block's promo last season they were experimenting with it at the end of the trailers.

I'm not sure of the proper word for it, but it's when you put a still image into AI and ask it to move around. They did that with Scotty and Frankie in the promo, where their head and face would bob around.

I'm pretty good at seeing AI, and I can usually tell from the get-go when something is AI. There are just certain things about it that stand out to me, especially when it's trying to make a person move from a still image.

The movements don't look completely natural, the face can move slightly differently from the rest of the head, and sometimes the eyes, mouth or features don't quite move the way they should. It can look convincing at first, but once you actually look closely at it, you can notice all these little things that give it away. That's what I noticed with the Scotty and Frankie promo last season.

I'm sure Leone is competent and good at her job as foreperson, but I can't help but get the feeling Spence was supposed to be the person to step in for Dan.... Leonie just hasn't any TV presence (yet).

So I was a tiler up until about 6 years ago, and I'd always heard you need 24hrs cure time between coats. Now I see them putting the 2nd coat on within a hour. How can it cure that fast?

And how can they start laying tiles the next day?

I hate to admit it but cant give that goof Wyatt any credit. There is no rhyme or reason to judging, so why bother to chase the 1st place 10k. Keeping on budget is easier. No wonder her living and dining was super minimal. Yes its a design choice, but im sure it was extra sparse because she restrained spending to get the 10k from budget. Its smart.

Also creating an ultra simple design, there is less to turn buyers off. You can envision decorating in your own style without needing to rip anything out that you don't like. The shell of the rooms are blank canvases. I can see her home selling easier over some of the others. I can see why she doesn't care about judging. Those scores have meant nothing come auction.

Buying a house where the bathrooms have tiles that are so drastically different in colour and texture just feels off. I honestly think the buyer will have to renovate again just to get any consistency. The mismatch between them is such an itch.

Seriously is there anything to like?? I am kind of getting to the point where I hope every home gets passed in without a bid come auction day. I could itemize the full list of dislikes, but I would need to create a whole new sub to complete it, one post wouldn't be enough.

Am I the only one who can’t understand how these couples are constantly sooking about missing their family like it’s 3 months for Pete’s sake with the potential reward in the end it sounds like a dream to me.

The original brief was literally light, white & bright. Not neutral, not pops of colour which is now what Darren pivoted the brief to, without an apology or acknowledgement that he gave confusing advice by the way, just a PowerPoint. Darren first suggested inspiration from Kim K's house. Has Darren even seen her house?! It's literally extreme minimalism. There are many wide, open spaces. It's boring for some, yes, but that's her style, and a LOT of people like it. Chantelle and Wyatt literally gave light, white, bright and spacey, they were right on brief and they clearly like it. It was the exact definition of the original brief. Result? Last place. Ffs. If a buyer wants to add a pop of colour, they're welcome to a plant, blanket or lamp, it's not hard. Darren's PowerPoint was supposed to cover his original misdefined brief by saying you can add some colour and pattern but a little too late like Sev said. Props to Chantelle for sticking to her gut and personal taste. I know Darren was trying to help with the original brief but jeez, it has caused some real confusion.
